@Tooties FTW
I half expected Anderson to say: "Shepard! Get down! That heavy mech has a visual on you!"

Jack ranks higher with girls than with boys. Lots of things can be said about that, most of them pernicious generalizations, some of them insightful. As has been mentioned in the Jack thread, some girls find it easy to relate to Jack. I'll leave that there.
I'm pretty pleased that Samara, Tali, and Jack ranked so well among the female playerbase.
And it is interesting to see males prefer Jacob more than females.

Nah most hate her because shes apparently a racist and a religious zealot.bobobo878 wrote...
I'm surprised Ashley didn't do better. While I was upset when she shot Wrex on my first playthrough, she seemed to have more depth than a lot of other characters.
I personally thought she was a well written character (although hated the how you couldn't be civil with her without a romance starting)

How is she a zealot? The only time she brought it up when I played, she made it clear that she'd keep her religion to herself. If anyone in the cast is a zealot, it's Samara.GodWood wrote...

(I know you were paraphrasing what you've heard about her, but I'm still curious.)

I think Ashley's reduced popularity has a lot to do with what's happened on Horizon, and the fact that she doesn't elicit the same sort of response that Kaidan does with female players. Ashley is blunt and overly independent. That is a sort of "turnoff" for many males.

And that's why I love her. Whether you agree with all Ashley's values and actions - or don't - she always feels like she's her own person.

Honestly, what puzzles me most at this point is the inconsistency between the female and male averages for Mordin. Everything else appears explainable... but in past surveys, there was little to no difference between the female and male averages for Mordin. This time, however, Mordin's average for males has actually fallen. Anyone care to theorize?
Maybe try adjusting for age and sex together? My guess is that Mordin is more popular with the older age groups, and that in your sample, females are older than males.
I tried to look at your data, but I could only see the scores, not the age/sex categories, so couldn't test my suggestion

I'll try age first, and then adjust for sex as necessary. But thanks for the suggestion!

Wrex seems to be the only Mass Effect character (who hasn't been in two games or had any kind of DLC to expand his character) to rank that high.
Pretty impressive actually.
Wrex is the badass/anti-hero hybrid that everyone likes. Regardless of his past. That characterization alone doesn't require much extension or change of his character to achieve.
I like Wrex, but... I don't adore him or anything. He's just cool, you know?

Not for this male. I love strong, independent female characters. Ash is my favorite character bioware has ever made. Horizion didn't make me mad at Ash. I was and I am mad at bioware at the lack of Ashley in ME2. I don't play ME2 anymore cause of that and some other reasons. I didn't participate in the survey. I don't do polls and surveys really. I think there are other Ash fans like me in that regard. I hardly post on the forums at all anymore. I prefer the groups. I thought this comment needed a response from an Ash fan.

Clearly Ashley and Kaidan are in the weakest position right now. They've got this this whole unresolved plot and Horizon thing hanging above their heads. So their position is this survey (as in any other survey or poll which takes place before they recieve some attention) can easily be ignored.

I agree. I will organize another survey if a VS DLC ever gets released.

I mean he gives you some interesting backstory on the Geth and his flashes of individuality are intriguing; but ultimately I found he comes off as a robot with little to no personality (as opposed to HK-47 or EDI who comes off as AIs with a surprising amount of personality). Not that coming off as a robot with little to no personality is innapropriate for his character, it just isn't very engaging to me.
Could someone who's a fan of the character explain to me exactly what you find appealing about his character cause I just don't get it?
