I neither like nor dislike Jack. Bioware has done the bad girl with an unspeakably horrible past before and better with Viconia. Jack surprised me very little and her softening feels rushed. However, Taylor is one of the best VAs in the cast, and Jack is probably one of the best acted squad members.

Don't worry. Just wait until the VS DLC is released and a new survey is made. The popularity of Ash and Kaidan is sure to sky-rocket then.

I just sincerly hope that the VS recieve some DLC, if only so alot of the underserved hate stops.

So many people playing FemSheps were refused the chance to peek further than the little glimpse we got.  We liked Jack and kept trying, only to be told to f*** off.    I really wish there were properly developed friendship paths for all romanceable companions.  It beats getting so far and then being kicked to the curb.

I expected Jack to do a little better, not by much, but better than that. Oh well... I guess passive, agreeable characters that kiss the player's ass are all people really want <_<

Though, it's interesting to note that Jack still does score higher with female players on average (in this survey and others I've seen).  Of course, female players don't necessarily play as FemShep or just as FemShep but I think most tend to play as their own gender at least once.

I love Ash too.  I always agonize over the decision at Virmire.  Ash is a kickass, opinionated chick who sits down and shuts up for no man, and just the kind of person I'd love to befriend.

I don't mind the fact that she essentially says "thus far and no further."  One can be comrades without being BFFs, and it's fine that not every character wants the same things (or, indeed, anything) from Shepard.  I mind the fact that, once it's been established that things aren't going to go deeper, you don't get to have any more discussions at the level you've already reached.

A little more on-topic, I was looking again at the survey results for female voters.  I find it interesting that Mordin has a lower mode than Kaidan, Wrex, and Garrus (9 to their 10s), but his mean score still comes out on top.  I'm guessing it means that people who didn't care for Kaidan, Wrex, and Garrus gave them reasonably low scores which counteracted all those tens somewhat, whereas not many people really dislike Mordin enough to give him anything approaching a true low score.

I know I gave Mordin either a 7 or an 8.  Wrex got a 9 from me, and Garrus got a 10.

They all got tens from me, actually. :-) But I imagine that that, in general, the lower scores for Mordin weren't very low compared to other high-scorers.

Absolutely. I usually play maleshep and I get all leery about conversing with her because I have no desire to romance her, but unfortunately, it's the best way to know her as a person. I keep thinking she would make a great "buddy" character for femshep the way Garrus is for maleshep, but alas, she keeps telling me to F off.

They probably weren't; I couldn't give them all tens, because there were a couple characters that I didn't care for. I know I gave at least two ones; aside from that, nothing lower than a six.

That's the problem with scales, everyone has a different idea of what a 10, 5, or 1 mean.

For the characters I gave a 10, they were characters that would seriously displease me if they weren't in ME3.

For those I gave a 9, I'd be sad if they weren't in ME3, but I might be able to handle it if the story was awesome.

Characters at an 8 I was quite fond of.

Characters at a 7 I liked well enough.

Characters at a 6 were okay, but didn't thrill me in some memorable way.

At 5 were the characters who I was so indifferent towards, I could say I liked or disliked them. Actually, that's not true. The one character I gave a 5 was actually more of an average of my two opinions of the character. Jacob: great bro, horrible romance.

The only one the scored low for me was Morinth because she's a non-character to me. The only time I took her side was to get Dominate, and then I reloaded to pick Samara then. Morinth is interesting to me as a character within Samara's loyalty mission. As a squadmate, she sucks.

You actually hit the nail on the head for how I viewed it, Pacifien. When I rated characters, that's how I looked at it. With some, I really wanted to give that 7, but I gave them a 6, because they were good, but didn't "wow" me.



Hmmm....wait, you can pick Morinth to get her loyalty power unlocked, then reload and choose Samara? ....I need to go back and do that then....

That's actually pretty much how I rated it too, Paci. I think I only gave two characters less than a 5 (and that was because one of them I know nothing about having never taken her along for the ride), and two characters got 10s, but everyone else scored fairly high.

I gave most of the crew 5-7, only gave 10 to my two favorites, and 9 to my two besties, 1-4 given to those who I never enjoyed talking to and/or never took with me on missions.

I would like to see the VS expanded on more as well (considering to me they were very shallow and uninteresting in the first game, my opinion people, don't take it the wrong way!). I just don't personally think its going to happen, just like I don't think there will be a Wrex DLC. Its as simple as this: the VS DLC would require double the voice actors and double the money. I think that if Bioware is going to include more VS content, it will be in ME3.

With the exception of Morinth, I gave everyone a score of 5 or higher.

If I gave a character a 5, then it signified that I didn't like them very much.

If a 6, then I was neutral with that character.

If 7 or 8, I liked the character, but they weren't the sort of characters I absolutely loved.

If 9 or 10, I adored the character and would be disappointed if they didn't return to ME3.
