Many of the doors in Merdelaine are locked. There are also traps and double traps.
If your PC doesn't have any roguish levels, you will probably appreciate Neeshka. You need at least 1 level of Rogue to even be able to try opening locks of a certain level (lockpicks help)
The locks are no problem, if you have a wizard in the party (I'm an Arcane Trickster and go with all spell-casters---
:wizard:
:wizard:
) . Use the Knock spell. If you do not have a wizard handy, there are items that can cast a Knock spell (Commander's Ring, Chime of Opening, etc..)
As for traps? If you can't disable them, you'll take damage... and some are deadly. The Evasion feats, Ring of Evasion, and such will help.Your paladin and cleric can also shield others to share damage.
Not having the Sword is a problem. It isn't very useful, but you are supposed to have it. Could it possibly have reverted to shards? Or was it loaned to another?
I'd suggest reloading that area, and checking all baggage.
If you try multiple times and the Silver Sword refuses to remain in your inventory, you might have to use the console commands.

Er... but Neeshka's not there.
If you can't pick locks, and you don't have Knock spells available, you're going to have to break doors and suffer the traps.
As for the sword, it's probably in the inventory of one of the characters not with you. You will need it at the end, but you will have a chance to go through all of their inventories again - except a very remote chance that one of them will try to leave with it (I don't know what would happen in that case). I'm not 100% sure you absolutely need it to win - I think I did it once without finishing off what you need the sword to destroy, but it could have just been lag.
Be SURE to keep a save from before you teleported just in case.

Oh oh. That thing was a Nightwalker. They like to use Disarm, which means the sword might be back in the courtyard. I don't know if you're totally screwed or not - try googling and see if someone else got through this.
[edit] Ok, according to a walkthrough, the thing that you need the sword to destroy can be destroyed without it - it just has high damage resistance to other weapons.

Right! THAT's why you appreciate her.
As for that which you need to destroy? The Interdimensional Portal thingy works just fine. I didn't use on Zaierrie (too migrained to go check spelling)... just clobbered her cage with some area spells until it went poof. You can also sell it, but using it hastens the end, which is just fine by me. That is a tedious battle.

IF you are going into MOTB or want to keep the character to use in another adventure then make sure you manually export the character BEFORE you end the battle!! The game doesn't automatically export at the end of the game, so decide what you want on your character then export them, and then finish the game.
