This discussion is not to ask what name I should call my lovely characters, I have enough creativity to make smoething up, it's more about the preset names.

Has anyone noticed how all the male names except the Elf Mage end in the letter 'N'?

Human Noble - Aedan
Human Mage - Daylen
Dalish Elf - Theron
City Elf - Darrian
Dawrf Noble - Duran
Dwarf Commoner - Faren

Odd one out
Elf Mage - Alim

And all of the female except the City Elf name end in an 'A'.

Dwarf Commoner - Natia
Dwarf Noble - Sereda
Dalish Elf - Lyna
Elf Mage - Neria
Human Mage - Solona
Human Noble - Elissa

Odd one out
City Elf - Kallian

Just seems something fun to discuss.

"-n" sounds archaic and cool, that's why.

Incidentally, my characters so far were called Aedvyn (Dalish Elf), Marvin (Human Mage) and Finian (Human Noble), with Saared (City Elf) the odd one out.

But this was more or less conincidence. My "generic" player name is always "Marvin" since 1999, I used "Aedvyn" (with odd spelling) as an alternative to avoid alliteration with "Mahariel", I used "Finian" because all male Couslands have Celtic names and I wanted both brothers to have the same initial, and "Saared" is an Elf rogue I created in Neverwinter Night and I was going to have him act the same way in DA:O as back then.

My human mage is named Romulus Amell. I like the ring to it, plus in Roman legend, Romulus was the twin that eventually founded Rome, a lasting legacy thousands of years later

I often name my characters after Greek and Biblical legends since i have an interest in religions. Pandora and Persephone are names i have used a lot over the years.

I named by Elf "Elaine"

I think it goes with the 'N' thing.
