I believe that a very important aspect that was missed in ME1 and ME2 are spacefights. We
already know a great deal about space combat, and it shouldn’t be too difficult
for Bioware to implement this.

As Shepard, you don’t get to fly the Normandy or shoot it’s weapons, but you order your
crew to do that with a radio on the CIC deck. The orders/choices could work like
all choices do, with the dialogue wheel.

I believe that you should be able to have the following choices during a battle:

[Fire MA Projectiles]- Fire a mass accelerated projectile that causes moderate damage to
the enemy ship’s armor and shields.

[Fire Disruptor Torpedoes]- Fire a torpedo that is able to bypass the enemy’s shields
and cause damage directly to the armor. (There is 50% chance that the torpedo
gets hit by the enemy ship’s GARDIAN system before causing any damage)

[Fire GARDIAN Cannon]- Turn the GARDIAN System on, something that has no effect to
the enemy, except if they are too close, or they are firing disruptor torpedoes
towards you.

[Evasive Maneuvers]-Change your position to lower the chances of an enemy successfully causing
damage to you.

[Re-Route Energy]- You can re-route energy to different systems, such as Life Support, MA
Cannon, Shields etc.

Then again, it might be more immersive if your options were different each time, according
to the situation you are currently in, and not the phase of the battle.

In this thread I see Infinite Space (possible Bridge Commander) versus Star Fox

I think it would be hard to do it as presented unless given a chance to fail but not have a game over fail. If you Star Fox it up then you would need either a small fleet or a bigger boat at your disposal. Maybe relegating another character to charge in with the smaller attacking ship.

If you had the OP way I think adding emphasis on Positioning yet not allowing for outright failure would be best.

Ship flying? No.

It was bothersome enough to control Joker when I have always been in control of Shepard up until that part of the game. Now if you meant fighting along the hull of a ship in zero g then yes, I think it would be a great idea. We got a small taste of that at the end of ME1.

star trek bridge commander had an interesting system for playing a captain and ordering your crew on the bridge.. it could work but yeah thats a lot of extra work to implement for how many missions exactly ?

while i would love the option i think its more of a seperate game.. wing commander mass effect anyone?

It sounds ok and possible seeing how Reapers are in space. I'd also take an ability to fly a small fighter (perhaps atleast some squadmates would use fighters too) although seeing how useless it was in Reach I can do without. I just don't want to fly Normandy or some other big ship by myself. I don't really care if any of this isn't in though.

Plus sudden interrupt promts would be a must for this

Whilst I loved the ride thru Illium on the recent DLC, and would love to see a truly epic space battle implemented in ME3, I personally would prefer if it were first person (ie: looking out of a cockpit window with computer graphics on screen etc) as apposed to the 3rd person view they used in Lair of the Shadow Broker. 3rd person view worked for that, I just don't think it would work for ME3.

I understand what you mean, but if I thought that this would be better suited for another, seperate game, I'd make one myself. Heh, making a single mission should take a couple of hours at best, with Game Maker, or something as easy to use. ;)

Spacevessel combat is a nogo for me. That is just pure "I wannabe Star Wars" thinking that doesn't belong into this Mass Effect trilogy. The little car chase in LotSb was magnificient, as it was fun, rather short, fitted the story and meant for amusement and a little gamepace change.

Real battle on the other hand is something taking an important part in the story, just imagine you'd have to fly the Normandy in the "Suicide"-Mission. Not only does it break the game flow as we'd have to change our playstyle to the completely new formula, but doesn't fit into the game being Shepard centric.

On the other hand, a major game sequence like the Siege of the Citadel with one or two choices to make in between resembling space-cambot decisions for the story would be great, but anything going further is just out of place.

If I want to fight in space, I play X-Wing Alliance, Wing Commander or X. But I play Mass Effect because I want a great, story driven adventure dealing with Shepard's struggle against impossible odds, not same space fight simulator.

Oh, and guys, check the OP again, I am not talking about controlling the Normandy, just issuing orders. ;)

this is were biowere needs to work on me3 , they didn't have to worry about technology as it was "pretty maxed out" I totely agree but no flyable skycars

P.S. i'm posting this here because both forums sections on my page are locked
and reqesting skycars is not against the rules
