Am I the only one who disliked the sexism in Mass Effect 2? I have no problem with the relationships and sex scenes or anything like that, but I think that Bioware crossed the line when they introduced Miranda, or more accurate, made her a sex symbol just for the reason to sell more. Don't get me wrong, my Shepard is female and I applause Bioware for making her strong, with a great personality and not a shallow character with jiggly boobs.

I see the same pattern in anime today. I used to be a big fan of anime, but today I rarely watch any just for the reason of all the sexism.

Come on, Bioware! Your games and characters is not about boobs and tight clothes! <_<

Oh shut up!
I wish there were more characters like Miranda.

Kind of a misnomer. A quality product well sell more.

You don't see boobs jumping off the page of Halo, Call of Duty and Super Mario Bros.

Off topic: The most popular mods for Dragon Age disagree with this statement.

On topic: Miranda and Samara are fairly sexualised, yes, but I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say that they are displaying blatant sexism.  An attractive female character in visual form gets attention from the male audience, and statistics would likely suggest that more men than women play Mass Effect.

That said, female characters are in general just as empowered as male characters within the game.  Doesn't sound sexist to me. And Miranda is not simply a sex object. Nor are any of the female characters in the game. Just because a character is created to be attractive doesn't mean that it's an indication of sexism.

But for games that can not make it that big they have to go by the sex sells bit<_<.

Given its contemporaries, I would put Call of Duty well above Far Cry and Doom 3. And Call of Duty 2 above something like FEAR but below Half-Life. Call of Duty 3? Yeah no, that game sucked righteously.

At the time of Halo's launch? It was a pretty damn solid title. And I would say that overall it was better constructed than Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

No I don't hate ID Software

I played Halo in full on PC. There was nothing it did that hadn't been done before and done better. Oh, and it was the same game twice.... the second time you play the same levels in reverse with slightly different enemies.

Halo made the original XBox and brought decent FPS controls to the console market in a passable package. It lives because of its multiplayer. I don't particularly care about multiplayer so I find it overwhelmingly bland.

It also features no females apart from a helpless AI. Therefore it's a sexist game. :P

Whoa there! I said Modern Warfare 2. Not the original Modern Warfare. That was awesome. It's only the sequel that is a poorly and hastily created cash-in. Especially with its "$20 DLC to get maps you've already played before" malarky.

Yeah once you get past the Cartographer's Map level the game pretty much plays out like a boomerang

Yeah that was BS. I remember Map packs for Lost Planet costing five bucks and ones you get from Epic and Ubisoft came with a multi-tude if even at times they would have a map from an older release(and even with Ubisoft some of those packs were free).

15-20 bucks is the price of an expansion. What amounts to a large percantage of content is recycled, plus the pack itself is a high increase on packs that would contain all new content is just plain greedy.

Yeah the Jetski one was rather good. But then again there really aren't any quality contemporaries on the market

You know how hard it is to get to those abs though?

Also instead of an Abs shot in his loyalty mission we get a tooth shot. Miranda is all about shoving DAT ASS in our face.

Where did you get that idea?

The get a job line is humorously ridiculous, I mean apply it to anything you don't like.

"Don't like your boss? GTFO and get a job!"
"Don't like the salmonella outbreak? GTFO and get a job!"

Also telling someone to grow up is like telling them "YO YOU SHOULD GET PREPARED TO DIE SOON"

If women like it, it's chivalry. If they don't it's sexism!

ON

Yeah, high heels and cleavage, body with oversized boobs and small twig arms (serioulsy, recoil from a gun could snap it in half) makes me crazy after ME1's practical outfit view.

And don't let me start on the zero atmosphere/toxic atmosphere breathmask rant... :wizard:

I actually liked the ME2 Armour/Costumes/Whatever better.

In ME1 all the armour looked too much like it was made of plastic or stolen from a Power Ranger :/

As for the sexism thing, i just don't see any really.

Samara gets her chest looked at badly, but have you ever compared her costume design to Thanes? I know they're different sexes and you can't apply everything to both genders that way, but still, there is chests from both sides shown, and nobody seems to think about that, just sayin'.

Miranda is a bit of a marketing tool though i agree.

But she has already been covered. (almost-pun not intended)

And i never liked, or payed any attention to Jack beyond "She can do that bubble at the end." so...can't really say anything there...
