Why did you choose this monk to begin with? What drew you to them and what made you feel they were the spirit monk for you?
My spirit monk was Lu the Prophet. He was the balance class which is in every game I play I like to be. I found his Legendary Strike very appealing and was very glad I had choose him. He never really seemed the evil type to me, but always felt like if I was in that world I would be him. Plus he had cool closes.
Who was your spirit monk?

I've played all of them multiple times over. My favorite has probably been Jen Zi.

Monk Zheng was my choice, probably due to aesthetics and that I wanted to play a male PC. His fighting style's magic driven which always makes things interesting.

My favorite was Scholar Ling. I forget what I usually rename her. Something in Chinese I have written down somewhere. Once I tried Radiant Jen Zi but have since never gone back. I like her aesthetics but Ling's battle cries were way more appealing. "You lack grace!"
Style wise I split evenly between body and chi when playing Closed First or chi and focus with Open Palm.

My original was Furious Ming. I followed that up with Tiger Shen, Radiant Jen Zi and Wu the Lotus Blossom. Most recently, I played Monk Zeng after buying the PC version.
Best game ever.

I always went with Monk Zheng. He was the closest to what I envisioned my Spirit Monk to look like. Tiger Shen was far too 'brawny', and I don't like tattoos, so that ruled out Furious Ming.

This is my spirit monk. She's going to kill you because she can.

I usually use Wu the Lotus Blossom, Lu the Prodigy and Monk Zheng usually.
I usually do balanced or focus-emphasis upon start up, usually.

I approve of your post, Nyoka. That was my CF Ling's attitude too. XD

I use Scholar Ling, though I wish the robes weren't so revealing. I named her Wu Ying, the way I pronounced which could mean either Black Shadow or Raven Shadow, a deliberate pun. My body stat was usually the lowest, with spirit taking the lead.
Pretty much neutral until the spike towards Open Palm at the end.

I would at least say she was wearing pants. Unlike the other two female choices. hehe. I loved being evil with her. Their was something about Ling which gave this impression of I will destroy you and you will obey.

I like the feather on her blet or sash.

Seagloom lol!
I named her Nyoka, it means snake in Lingala. After a playthrough with her I tried to pick some other character but they seemed somewhat unlikeable in comparison, don't know why.

Scholar Ling, tried the others but they didn't do it for me. She was the only person with a sense of style, and as noted earlier, great combat cries. Forget what I renamed her. Fully open hand, though that doesn't mean much, I usually go the "good" path in most games, though I did find a few closed fist options seductive (making the girl kill the slaver, for example, seemed to me both just and a good lesson for the girl.)

Scholar Ling. None of the others feels as appealing. As Tooneyman mentioned, despite her dress being revealing in the torso area, she does have proper pants and sleeves - and I guess I like the wrist ribbons ... what actually sold me on her design was the loading screen for the charactors: Ling's looks like she was dancing instead of striking a combat stance or bandishing weapons.
So that's how the CF Ling looks like in charactor screen ... hmm. Never saw it before because I can't make myself play CF (or renegade in Mass Effect or evil in Neverwinter Nights).

Radiant Jen Zi was my first and third, I just loved the way she looked like a classic kung-fu film hero, especially with the tiger claws.
Wu the Lotus Blossom was my second, mostly cause I just loved her outfit, but also cause she looked the strongest of the female player characters.

With a user name like mine, you can guess that I was usually Scholar Ling, I never really changed it either since Ling is part of my actual Chinese name one meaning of Ling is adviser, so I thought the title of scholar was appropriate.

My first playthrough (and who I consider to be my definitive or main Spirit Monk): Monk Zheng (renamed Haolun), a compassionate, intutitive Open Palm follower who liked helping others. Didn't romance anyone (the goal was too important), used the Legendary Strike fighting style and was a replacement balanced character over Lu the Prodigy. I just find his appearance to be very saintly (he has the look of a wise sage) and suited for the Open Palm playthrough.
Other playthroughs:
Furious Ming (renamed Fenyang): A Closed Fist follower who believed in personal strength (he wasn't evil, he just didn't like people always begging for help and believes the strong survive for a reason), he became Open Palm in the end after helping the Water Dragon and stayed true to his character archetype (Fast and furious). Also romanced Sky, the epilogue fit the romance so well. The Closed Fist path combined with the Dire Flame magic suited his look with the tattoos.
Wu the Lotus Blossom (renamed Suya): A complete Closed Fist follower with a penchant for wanton destruction combined with an irresistable charm that made almost anyone do what she wanted, including Sky, her main love interest. The evil playthrough really suited her look; while characters like Monk Zheng have that Open Palm appeal, I find this character to go really well with either alignment but chose Closed Fist.
Scholar Ling (renamed Mai Ling): My favorite female avatar in this game, I played her as an intuitive spiritualist (which suited her magic fighting style) that has a softspoken but well meaning demeanor. She also did not have a romance (I messed up while pursuing Silk Fox), but in the end it worked for her character. She's a main character equivalent of Dawn Star, tapping into the spiritual realm but shows her emotions far less. She pursued the Open Palm path, which I think suited her very well (the blue robes and more homely look as opposed to outwardly flashy).
I will do a Tiger Shen (definitely looks Closed Fist), Lu the Prodigy (leans towards Open Palm but can go either way) and Radiant Jen Zi (can go well with either alignment) eventually.

I prefer using Furious Ming. I think part of it is because I so wish I had his physique, but I just really liked his look. I think it had to do with the tattoo. It's just so distinctive and really makes me feel like the character fits in the setting more than the others.
