I'd rather not spend my time in ME 3 traveling to alien's kitchens

Haha, it's funny...tonight, my 9-year-old son asked me, "What does a turian girl look like?" I told him, "Funny you should ask that...nobody knows." :P

Why do people bring this up so much anyway? It's not like anyone complained when there were no wookie/rodian/hutt girls around.

I complained.  I wanted to see a female wookie.  Then I remember some lame made for TV special where Chewbacca went back to visit his home planet, they were just giant walking carpets with pink bows, Damn you George Lucas, Damn you to hell!!!!

I'm reading retribution right now, apparently there is a turian female in it - but I haven't go to that part yet...

I think they didn't make them because it wasn't needed for the plot and they are reluctant to show them. They had an excuse for you not to see a female Krogan from the start but they wouldn't have one for the Turians, possibly not the Salarians either. Also that's a lot of work, and they probably spent a lot of their time recreating the combat system from the ground up.

How would you know if we saw one?

In Retribution there are couple minor Turian characters that are female, and they are immediately recognized as such by the human characters. So the Turians do appear to be sexually dimorphic.  I'd guess that Turian females are smaller.

In game we haven't seen them only because Bioware didn't develop a model for them. Lorewise there isn't any reason that we shouldn't see Turian females. Much like dogs, cats, and children they exist in the ME universe, we just don't see them in the game.

This was my favorite female turian concept art image until I heard the cut dialogue that implied they don't have breasts or "bumpy thingies".

Yeah that picture is realy great. That does't have to be boobs under her armour by the way, Turians have a rather big chests anyway.

But yeah the lack of turian females are as Udina would say: "An outrage!". I hope they are keeping them in secret to make the romanceable turian female more of a suprise in ME3.

But basicaly it was probably just lack of time and disk space that means only human shaped aliens like asari and quarians are allowed in the game. The developers assume that stereotype pretty and curvy alien girls sell better that bird/dinosaur aliens, as cool as they may be to some of us.

They ran out of face paint and won't leave the house until ME3.

That's a nice piccy otherwise, but has too slim waist. The male waist is already closing the impossible... can't really go thinner without losing the ability to stand up. Not to mention, they apparently do not lay eggs (BioWare did specify that salarians lay eggs, and krogans probably since they talk about clutches, but turians don't get any specifications) but have to handle the reproducing in some other way...

Garrus is a Turian woman. A lesbian, in fact.

Ah, the difference conceptions of gender across species. And people said Bioware wouldn't take a stand on a same-sex couple.

Never mind Turian women, what about the human women who sound like men at the end of LOTSB?

You spend enough time looking at Bioware games, and you can see where a lot of corners were cut. Which is why I always want to shank someone every time they badmouth Obsidian, since Obsidian does approximately the same amount of work as BW, but are always far more vilified, despite making games that are more fun (Kotor2 vs. Kotor) or at least as fun (Alpha Protocol).

There aren't any female turians because it likely saved time not having to create a new character model for them. The existing character models are already stretched to their very tension points -- while face, clothing, and hair textures may change, all humans of both genders have exactly the same body type -- creepy chiseled body builder or svelte vixen. Same goes for the other races, too -- no Drell/Krogan/Salarian females, though effort was exerted to explain why there are no Drell/Salarian females present -- too few in both cases. Asari are handled with a very specific headtype on a human female body (even the fingers are the same, as opposed to the rest of the universe's 6-digit system).

Not much answer is given for why we don't see female Krogan or Turians, though, and I'm kind of bummed that in ME2, only the Quarians were upgraded to having two genders. Hopefully it will be addressed in 3.

There are other places where the seems show. Watch the body language of anyone in a conversation. They all go through the same mannerisms -- **** their hips the same way, wring their hands the same way, chin-fist the same way -- body language is another cut corner to get us the game cheaper and faster.

I don't mind the body language thing so much, but the lack of female Turians and Krogan irks me. This is supposed to be the FTL-laser-gun-monster-truck-running-over-aliens future. How about some more equality amongst all the species?
