A FPS action/stealth hybrid similar to deus ex but without the rpg elements. You know a game where you could be stealthy non lethal or a killer. With the dialouge system I'd never want to leave first person, I'd choose an accuratly described conversation choice from button promts
X: HI hows it going
O: What the hell do you want?
Square: Get outa my face
Triangle:(run away)
ect. Your character would then speak the words
For the setting I'd like it to be more realistic, modern setting.

Imagine Dragon Age. With me so far? OK.

1. Take away the ridiculous amount of blood.
2. Get rid of characters like Lillyanna and Zevran.
3. Replace them with LIs who are actually interesting and don't leap on you within two seconds.
4. Add in more Dwarves.
5. Drop the "Zomg i haz wurld 2 saev" plot, because they're overdone and incredibly boring.
6. Add Sigrun back in, except make her romancable. To FemDorves only.
7. Add in sheathes for weapons.

OnlyShallow, i think your idea may be going somewhere, but i took the liberty of making a few minor changes.

...

okay, i actually changed it completely.

1. Take away theAdd even more ridiculous amounts of blood. in fact, everyone should have blood splattered on them all the time, and when there isn't a battle going on, all background NPCs should be asking, "Why isn't there more blood?!"
2. Get rid of characters like Make Leliana and Zevran the only selectable characters.
3. Replace them with LIs who are actually interesting and don't leap on you within two seconds all LIs with volus characters.
4. Add in more Dwarves Ewoks.
5. Drop the "Zomg i haz wurld 2 saev" plot, because they're overdone and incredibly boring and make everyone go out and get ice cream instead. DEEP FRIED ice cream... FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF HELL. served by Ozzy Osbourne.
6. Add Sigrun back in, except make her romancable. To FemDorves trees only.
7. Add in sheathes for weapons. and give everyone beer hats instead of helmets. with the faces covered. with no toggle option.
8. Make Mark Meer voice everyone (including Ozzy).
8b. except for the LIs, who will be voiced by Patrick Stewart.
8c. and a secret companion, who will be voiced by Simon Pegg.

Bioware: i can start any time ;)

edit: i should point out that it isn't even 9AM over here. working part time, i am not used to being up this early. just sayin' :P

Simple, Mass Effect One.

But I am under the impression what my dream game would be if they made a new one. So here it is.

A Space RTS.

There would be in depth ship augmentations, but yet the ships wouldn't use their original appearance. Each faction would have their own ships and society. Would focus on x,y, and Z axis combat, faction interaction, recourse management, and empire building.

The campaign would allow you to play as each faction, and through out the campaign each faction you play as has it's own goal and has a common deadly enemy.

Multiplayer would feature several skirmish modes, with many different types of objective options available to choose to mix up space combat.

Then there would be a online campaign mode of sorts cannon would be thrown at the window for this as people expand their faction's empire in a single thriving galaxy. And each week a developer form Bioware would act as each faction's de facto leader and hand out certain collective or individual weekly tasks to players that all focus on expanding their factions empire through war, trade or negotiations.

No. I think she can't even say her own name as it always comes out as either "Lil-yanna" or "Lily-yanna", not "Leliana".

Yes, and we all know that English is all about pronouncing words like they are spelled.

Well I didn't know where to post this question, but I guess this thread is as good as any.

What would you guys do if you had, what you thought, an astounding idea for a game, but you are not a programmer, or affiliated with any kind of game studio? Now, I know what you're thinking - this is just another crackpot kid with a lame idea... move along.

But this is not the case. I'm a longtime gamer, and I like to think I know what is a sound concept and what isn't. As I said, I'm not a programmer, neither do I have any connections in the gaming industry. I seek no profit in this endeavor, I merely want to be able to submit an idea to a game studio and see if it's something they would want to plunge ahead with. I've been writing up copious amounts of notes in my sparetime, but could condense it all down to a brief synopsis that would give the main thrust of the game - but that's of little use if nobody but me ever reads it.

So what would you guys do? Email game studios and hope for the 0.000001% chance you actually get through a spam filter and someone takes your request seriously? Post a thread like this and hope a mod reads it and is intrigued enough to look into it? As I said, the synopsis would take just minutes to read, so it's not like there's much to lose.

I just feel this idea is simply too good for me to sit on. I think only a handful of studios (Bioware in particular) could do this correctly, but I don't know how to get someone to take it as a serious idea submission. Even if a game developer were to read the synopsis and say, "Yeah that's a terrible idea, it'll never happen" that would still be preferable to me wondering if I have something on my hands, but being unable to get it out there.

Thanks for your time.

If other NPCs are to be believed, it's pronounced "Lel-e-ana" rather than what she says.

Plus I don't like her derpy accent.

Except literate.

I do like Dwarves, though. And books with constant descriptions of redheads, women's breasts and the bowels of men loosening (Farlander by Col Buchanan, by the way).

Mix Dragon Age with Dynasty Warriors as a certain thread would have me continually reference. Imagining the brilliance.... NOW.
