It had been less than 3 years Since Kai had returned to the deserted country of Ferelden, or more or less the haunted country of Ferelden, even though the inhabitance were long dead, she still could see the people running for there lives, fleeing the darkswpan,she could still hear there screams echoing in her ears, she could still feel there eyes watching...no pleading her for help... all she could do was stand from a distance, not moving...not willing to breath.... just let them burn....let them all burn......the screams died down as the Archdemon appeared and engulfed them all into ash.
That was the night it ended, that was the night it started, and that was the night it truly begun......for change was truly coming.
Kai looked at her surroundings, the midnight breeze dancing almost playfully in her raven colored hair, her bright green eyes scaning each object in great detail, the desolated wasteland seemed to resemble a town,or a large city, it was hard to make out though, the buildings were falling apart and the thick smell of roating corpses filled her lungs, causing her to hold her breath slightly, she climbed over the shambled gates that once guarded the city entrance,pausing for a moment, she felt something under her foot, it was hard and it make a funny crackling sound, she bent down and wiped away the ash and snow to reveal a frozen body, "ah" she gasped hot air steaming from her mouth, her eyes seemed to be transfixed upon the frozen form beneath her.
"Oh bride of the maker deliver me" Kai fell to her knees as she realized whom the person was, "Alistair" she could feel the tears flow from her eyes now, she had not seen or heard from him, or any of her former companions since.....well since that day....she was foolish to leave him behind at the gate, she should of taken him with her to fort Drakon...maybe then...maybe..."Oh Alistair.....I'm so.....I'm..." Kai choked back the harsher tears that tried to break free, her left hand rested gently on Alistair's face, "I'm going to bring you back" Kai used her right hand and whisked away the rest of the vial that clinged to his form, his Armour still shined, just as she remembered it. the golden plate Armour, that the king of Ferelden would wear during special events, maybe war is not considered a special event though just a thought, but she could still see every detail every scratch...every dent the Darkswpan had made, gritting her teeth in both anger and sadness she rose from the ground while laying Alistair's frozen form back down as gently as she could.
"I swear to you...I will make them pay" as she rose to her feet, kai looked up at the darkness, the sky looked lifeless, no moon nor stars, it was as if the maker himself blew out all the candles in the sky, wrapping her body in a warm cloke, she ventured west to find shelter.
Kai felt a slight chill go down her spine as she stopped infront of the chantry, she sighed lightly thanking the maker for this unexpected surprise, to her astonishment the chantry was almost intact, there was a small patch of grass that grew from the marble flooring, it looked safe enough to sleep on at least, as she sat upon the pleasantly dry grass, her mouth twitched into a frown as she gazed upon the massive but shattered picture infront of her,she could tell the darkspwan had been here, there vail claws remained forever beaded within the fabric of the tapestry, "Maker, have mercy on my soul, for I have sin", her Hands collided together as she bowed her head in respect, "Forgive your daughter who, failed her people, forgive...."before Kai could recollect her thoughts she felt the edges of a sharp blade rest upon the back of her neck, the steel of the blade sent a jolt to her heart, making the hairs on her neck stand on end.
"In which reality do I find you Sulking?" Kai Paused for a moment gritting her teeth at the annoyance behind her, "Aren't you supposed to be dead old man?" Kai became rattled as the man behind her chuckled slightly, "Ah I'm not that old, I am just..... ok I'm old" Kai tried to suppress a giggle while she turned her head to face him, "you do realize it's useless to try and kill me right?" she saw a faint smirk on the mans face, and his long black locks fell down his face somewhat, hiding the black bags under his eyes, one could clearly see that this man had not slept in weeks, his appearance had changed dramatically from the last time Kai had seen him, the stubble on his face had grown into a bush, a very untidy bush of black and sliver hair, the hair on his head was no better, seems he had grown it out, his now long black hair rested slightly on his shoulders slightly uneven as if he cut it with his blade,the wrinkles on his cheeks seemed deeper and more aggressive, Letting his age become more apparent then he would of liked.
"Hans, I swear one of these days I will...." Kai paused as Hans grabbed kai's arm and twirled her around to face him, "you dance with me as we rewright history?" kai grabbed a hold of Hans's necklace, pulling his face closer to hers, "No I just kill you" the smile on her face was rather charming but never did suit her, everytime she smiled wrinkles would form on her tattoos that rested upon each cheek, "Maker forgive me If I find you a tiny bit I don't know what is the word....." Kai looked at him with a sly smile "Attractive?", Hans shook his head "No I was thinking more or less scary, but that's the expression you give all men right?"she pouts at him, hitting him hard around his chest, "hey..hey now no need to get all hormonal on me just because you are due" that was it she got really irritated at him now, she threw her ruffled bag at him hopping it at least knock him out, but as always he would catch it and admit defeat, he was no fun at all.
Kai sighed again and sat back down on her patch of grass, "So why are you here?,"she glanced up at him a tiny bit dazed from the lack of sleep, "Spoilers my pet" he said with a smirk on his face, "So you saw Denise alive then in that world, good for you," Hans smile washed away entirely after that comment, "No....Just so happens I saw Alistair, your Alistair the king version at least"
Kai's eyes grew wide and the look on her face screamed, What other versions could there be?, "You know as well as I do, there are different versions of us in each realm, I met a drunk version of Alistair, king and maker forbid I forgot how annoying he was" the Girl in front of him giggled and looked up at the ceilings decor, "You Have not seen the others yet?" kai's expersion changed again to a more serious commander of the grey look, "I have had no word from either party, Wynne makers sake has been walking around with the mage elf, Eni Surana"Kai's upper brow raised in question at the name, "Surana..." Hans nodded as he sat down next to kai, "we need to pull the team back together somehow, if we want to change this world" Kai remained quiet "You do still want to change this world right?" Hans looked towards Kai his eyes glued to her waiting for the answer.
Kai leaned back aganst the stone walls arms wrapping them selfs tightly amung her knees, "I never forgot our mission" Hans smiled gently at her, "Get some sleep we head to the wilds in the morning".
Chap 1
As the blood stained sun rose from the depths of darkness, Kai and Hans started to pack up there things, "We can avoid most of the darkspwan if we use stealth,but we may have to fight larger hordes" Kai agreed to his statement and followed him towards the exit, as Kai opened the double doors the redness of the sunlight rays hit there faces causing Kai's face to heat up slightly.
Hans looked up "So beautiful, so tainted, so...", "Dead, if you don't shut up" Kai held out her bow and started to fire her arrows at the upcoming horde of Darkspwan, "Hey leave some for me would ya" Hans had taken out his shield and sword.
As soon as Hans had taken out his weapons the darkspwan from the back row started to fall one by one, Kai kept firing her arrows, seems she did not notice the Darkspwan dropping dead all on there own, "One two try not to miss a phew nightynine....hundred" a bright light surrounded the entire market district, causing all the Darkswpan to drop dead, "Ha you rock you rule" Kai noticed a slim figure in the shadows, Hans looked rather surprised and as always had a witty remark handy, "Say Kai was it your bad breath, or your skill that killed them?" Kai ignored his comment consernd more on the shadow that killed the Darkspwan.
"Makers flying cheese sticks, watch were you fire those things woman", The shadow creeped in closer towards them, "I say an arrow up the arise, is a great way to start the day eh?" Kai raised her eye brow in disbelief, Yet another idiot has found her, "Do I have a sign on my forehead that says, idiots welcome" The Figure chuckled as it stood in front of Hans, "Who's the big guy, your boyfriend?, need some alone time?" Hans laughed hole heartily "She wishes anyway", Kai hit them both around the head with the blunt end of her Bow.
"This is Matchenious the III" Kai pointed out, "Hes a rouge that can't keep his mouth shut, so I guess you two must be related," Matchenious frowned slightly while he looked at Kai, "You know I hate being called that, I rather like Matchy, thank you very much" Hans looked at Match's Armour it was dripping in Darkspwan blood, the symbols on his chest looked like some type of runes, while his cloke was raped around safely on his shoulders, held by a broach, this broach looked like a bird with two heads, His Armour was mostly common among rouges it had a silver tint to it while his gloves, were leather bound in a rough sheep skin, his boots were made of fine leather and buckled out to the max as though if he un buckled them even for a moment they would run off.
Matchy's dark brown hair moved gently with the mornings breeze, "Killing Darkspwan is always fun" his gin widened as he shook Hans's hand, "Say since I'm back in your, almost good graces, mind If I tag along?" Hans liked this guy already for the way he teased Kai, "I have no problem with it" Kai sighed and looked towards the city's gates, "Don't hold us back Kid, we need to go to the wilds after all." Matchy clicked his fingers, from the skies Kai could see a bird flying towards them, this bird was rather large and wore Armour to protect its body and wings, "This is Grif, hes my pet Griffon" Kai and Hans exchanged looks, "Where in the makers name did you.." Matchy cut Kai off, "I found him in the Anderfells in the 4th realm of Zeta" Hans pet the birds head "Well then this saves us walking, but lets try not to get the Archdemons attention today hm?" They both noded to his suggestion, "Let us be off before the day wonders off into oblivion" Matchy let out a soft laugh as Kai and Hans mounted on the Griffon.
