It's baaaaaaack.

Inciting arguments is a totally innocent behaviour, isn't it?

And calling every man and woman expressing their distaste and disagreement rabid fan girls is kind of trollish.

I'm not sure. I happen to be male. Does that change anything?

Plus I've told him this several times before.

Smartass: I am amused that there are some who are generally opposed to revealing armor, but would make an exception if the character had a reason. As though observers would be thinking "Oh, it's a cultural thing? Then I shant be titilated." Would the character have to make the viewer aware before the distinction could be made, so as to avoid some sort of quantum state of arousal/unarousal? Perhaps a pamphlet entitled “Upon my Preference for Showing the Goods.”

Looking around the thread the reason seems fairly obvious, and it all comes down to that suspension-of-disbelief thing again. Whether the player is titilated or not, when you start throwing nakedness around in an overtly gratuitous manner it might seem so overly self-indulgent that some will cringe while playing it. If it's done within a decent context then we can allow ourselves the pleasure without feeling like a moron for playing it. But that goes for just about every decent fictional creation that allows us to enjoy the human form.

Serious: I’m sure we’ll have opportunity for sexiness that both appeases and offends depending on your nature, but in general, the more armored you are, the more armor you are wearing. That’s a design choice to support the mechanics/appearance of the IP and give clarity to players. And Origins did have some juggling between the benefits of mobility versus raw protection, so we'll probably have similar tradeoffs this time around.

Gawd, I hope so. I never really was into the clanking tin-cans that are more from overly romanticised neo-medieval fiction, than the metal mass that a squire would take an hour buckling a knight into before a set-piece battle or jousting tourney only. Posted Image

She was telling me to troll harder, so I did, and look around 2 pages worth of spam because of it.

So yeah, I'm the one that's gonna get this back on topic now, ironically. We disagree, but it wouldn't be bothersome to have it as an option in a future game, with little to no stats, for both sexes.

Now then, if you think having it in the game is already offensive, you're just being silly.

never will happen in our time ever Posted Image

i am all for equality almost in everything, rights, jobs, payment, games, nudeness and clothing in game, justice, jokes, "positions"

as it turned out in these few pages we know even girls don't all oppose having metal bikinis, considering that they wear real bikinis this makes those who oppose the idea a bit more hypocritical if they base their position on the looks

In the end it is up to the developers, so all we can hope is that they read the topic and agree with those who wish to see such items in the game

Heck my own girlfriend wears on her own such bikinis when going to real RPG ( i think its called gurps or what in english)

Anyway, sorta on topic. One of the things I liked about DA was how it moved away from the standard fantasy roles, look ect. While the world could use a facelift and it certainly didn't always give the feeling of epicness it wanted, there was something very down to Earth about it.

I'm not sure going the weird costume route would break the feeling the for me. I like the idea of berserker specific armor and I like the idea of different armor types (especially consider the Free Marshes is different from Ferelden and the contact they have with the Qunari) but I really don't want the Conan look. Just my two bits.

Because that's an entirely different debate?

"The oilspill in the gulf is finished, why rage over people cutting down the rainforests?"

I don't speak for the others, but when I said add these clothes and armor I never meant to at the same time remove more realistic ones. The two can co-exist in the same game. I am just as fine with having tincan armors for man and women as having tanga for man and women in the game, it doesn't mean I will use them but I don't try to block others from their own wishes coming true.
