Xbox live is required to fully enjoy the game these days.

That sounds like a criticism of the Xbox, not of DA.

Barker. Bethesda, as much as I hate them as a company and hate to admit it, they did. For Oblivion and for Fallout 3.

Bah. I have no issues with scantily-clad warriors. What I do have issue with is when this translates to mean solely having 'scantily clad women with boobs hanging out in ridiculous fetish outfits of various types.' That's the dividing line. Most requests and people posting come from a place of female hypersexualization rather than a place of mutual sexualization of both sexes. I am for the latter - scanty outfits that are equal in showing off skin. But I am not for the exploitation of the former. Simple as that.

True, but only Shivering Isles was released outside of the GOTY retail disc. I guess I'm just nostalgic about buying expansion packs as discs, and not getting charged $10 for some new armour and weapons, etc. (where it should be included as one big package for $30-50)

That is fair, and I agree with you, equal increase of skin showing for both genders

Well, just adding a human culture that thinks wearing "too much" armor is equal being scared / weak / childish / insulting to God or Nature would really make the addition of these clothes and armor easier to the DA lore.

I know I said, I'd leave the thread but

If you can justify anything in game, I'm ok with it. And if the armor does what you'd expect it to do, I'm fine with that too. And if the character is the type to don a loin cloth and plunge him or herself into an army of heavily armored enemies, I don't want to see them running around in platemail and being apprehensive about a fight.

But just like with the Asari I'm not going to deny what's obviously in front of my eyes.

Well, all i can say about pro and anti armor is that in RL Rome was defeated by semi-naked "barbarians" too, more then once.

This has nothing to do with which piece of armor is 'better.' It's about the world staying consistent. If you can sell me on it, I'll buy it. I'll hate you later once the game isn't what I wanted anymore, but I'll still have bought it and had to move along. Not much else I can do.

As a girl gamer, I like to see stylized outfits, don't care about how much skin is covered or how practical the outfit is. As long as the female is fierce and strong I'm good.

I think armor can look sexy, stylish, or pleasing to the eye without being scantily clad. (PS the modding community is awesome)

That would be Leliana's Sacred Ashes armor.

"Some folks don't seem to like the idea of half-naked fantasy warriors and see them as unrealistic"

lol yes, one could easily point out to them "uh, it's a fantasy, not a historical reinactment" but then you remember some people are just naturaly brain damaged or pretend to want fully clothed woman in the games cause they think it'll impress any girls reading it (lol so fail)

That preeeeeeetty much covers it

I agree with this. Just because you disagree with something you don't even understand doesn't mean you need to make fun of it.

The purpose of armor is for protection - taking less damage from strikes. A bikini doesn't guard against much, neither does a lion cloth. If you just want to see scantily-clad followers, use a mod.

Or oyu just don't try to block what others want added in the game, and once you play you simply chose not to use equipment what you personally dislike

If it ever was added to a game as a normal clothing option, I probably wouldn't give a ****. Problem is, it's always added in as a real armor model.

well it IS armor, it is another matter how much armor/defense it should give, it is still a fact that such armor were used, even metal bikini was something that was near-real in european ancient greece and egypt, still the lack of clothes/armor is not an absolute negative.
Rome was never able to conquer Hyboria or all the picts, they couldn't claim germania, and they lost their empire to mostly such people.

I think I understand your complait about armor/clothes a bit, but then again until we can have two seperate layers for them and youdon't have to take off your heavy armor just to wear your fancy noble clothes, I don't see any issues with these being clothes or armor anyway

A LION cloth? I think a lion protecting your genitals would be very handy and useful.

With the features being leaked out the past few months, I wouldn't be surprised too badly if DA 2 made the full leap to chainmail bikini/loincloth fan service.

So please, folks - don't go into a thread if you're not intending to positively contribute to the discussion.

What if we think we have something to contribute but worry that we may get bashed for it being supposedly "stupid" to others, so we don't post anything? Very jokingly hypothetical question, mind you.
