Eh. I can see it working for berserkers or chasind, but honestly I find the Conan the Barbarian style armor or chainamil bikinis just stupid looking. I don't like the style of it. If they do it right I suppose it might be cool, though.
the game itself is not much more than "eye-candy", I support all kind of armor and clothes in games, aslong the player has the option to chose or not to chose them to wear

It kind've draws the line between sexism and realism. Scantily clad for practicality/due to culture's sake is one thing, but fantasy nerd chainmail bikini's is another (I'm pro-practical armor when it comes to this discussion, despite being a guy).
It's one of the reasons why I love Massive Armor, because even for the female characters, it wasn't feminized into a male's fantasy (plate armor was never meant to have breast slots, as it would go against the practicality of the armor, and would mean the armor had been tailor-fitted for the person using it). Considering that you pick up armor from things like revenants, I highly doubt they were designed to be fitted onto a female warrior by default.

While it's a good idea, BioWare making armor suited for a particular spec seems far outside the realm of possibility. We're frequently told about budget and time limitations.
Also, Red Sonja sucked.
Arnold says he used to show that to his kids as punishment. I would have used Junior.
But yeah, as much as I would like to play as a Conan-esque charachter that wears fur pants and a massive broadsword, I know it won't happen since that would make absolutely no sense in terms of fighting people who can shoot lightning from their hands.

What? Because the material is not fur or leather anymore you disapprove? While this image seems to be in the style of the 70-80's, female bikini-like metal armor is not as unrealistic as you think, atleast not less than a fur undie wearing male warrior, in the european culture as far I know the first depiction of similar wear was with goddess Athene who wore a similar armor plus a robe/cloak and a metal helmet on some vase painting and as a few statues, and I also saw in a museum a bronzen armor that was not really an "armor" by todays standards from a germanic tribe.
Anyway, as said earlier I support all kind of clothes and armor, this one too, but give the player the choice to what to wear (and not like in ME2)

I completely forgot about Keira Knightly in King Arthur, hah! I quite like the design, but overall prefer the (quite similar in some ways) look of Olga Kurylenko from Centurion:

Although it isn't as good an example of the scantily clad warrior as Knightly in KA (which is funny because when everyone was posting images of Etain in the Lady Hawke thread some said she wasn't armored enough >.>)

Your trolling needs practice. If you spend time on these forums, you know damn well why this would be ridiculous and gratuitous. You're the one who's hopping up and down on the thread screaming that fangirls will freak out. Don't call us irrational.

Chafing aside, would you go into battle wearing nothing? Armors are used for something., and Sonja´s matal bikini protects nothing (nice picture anyway...). Funny considering how sensible Red Sonya was in that regard.
Conan in the tales also was usually in leather/furs clothing, and armor when he needed it, despite Frazzetta´s drawings of him in loincloth. Something that works in a pin-up not always works well in action. Besides, DA was supposed to be dark fantasy the SoF&I kind, not pulp.

Yeah, it's not that I don't like it because of the material, it's just stupidly impractical and not at all fitting with the Dragon Age setting, at least what's been established so far. Also, I just don't like the style. I've never liked the Conan/Red Sonja style. It just looks stupid to me.GodWood wrote...

As I've said, I'm open to the idea of less covering armor for berserkers (there is precedent for it, after all, what with the Picts and everything), but armor that is literally nothing but a chainmail bikini can just vanish forever, as far as I'm concerned.

Doesn't the game already use facial tattoos to represent different clan markings and ideals? Especially where the Dalish are concerned.
Yeah actually, they are the same thing. Unfortunately I wasn't overly impressed with many of the tatoos/markings available in Origins, some were great but most just didn't look right to me. As such I'm hoping for a wider range of options for DA2.

I would love someone like conan to appear in the game and then be killed in the first fight of the game to prove just how bloody useless the whole idea is.
Not really. Personally I've never liked the whole medieval tin-can thing much as I've always associated it with massed formations in set-piece battles or one-on-one jousting. It doesn't sit well with non-formation, small group fighting, as having limited mobility and limited vision just means you're going to get stabbed in the back by more lightly armoured fighters.
Lightly armoured fighters actually make a bit more sense in a setting like Dragon Age's.
But anyways, like I said in my OP, the idea is built around things like warpaint etc offering magical protection as the celts and picts imagined they did, and as Kaddis in the game already does. I've suggested it just for the sake of a bit of variety and an alternative to the metal hulks we tend to end up with.

How is it sexist if it applies to both male and female? The OP specifically used a bloke as an example!

Light armour yes, but dam near but naked no. I always thought that it would make sense to have at least person in heavy armour even in a small group and then the rest in lighter stuff but i personally turn down a warrior who seems to think that a pair of boxers provides adequete protection against an axeshootist70 wrote...

Now I don't know if we'll see the berserker specialisation in DA2, but the germanic berserker was a warrior who thought that armour was for wimps. They'd tend to charge into battle with a huge two-handed sword or axe wearing little more than wolf-pelt 'armour', complete with wolf-head helmet with fangs drooping over the forehead.
The 'Berserker' is an old Viking term. Some warrior would drink a special brew that brought them into a fighting frenzy. They wore bear skins, not wolf pelts
