heyas;
okay, there's one random scene in the denerim brothel (pearl), where you get two nugs lying down on the floor. i've looked at the conversation that leads to this, which only sets a flag. apparently, the area script intercepts flag setting and handles the creature/npc/object spawning and pc jumping/handling. (which is interesting, but irrelevant :X )
and i've looked in the area where the creatures are painted down (but inactive). and at their variables and scripts (but they just use the usual creature_core). but i haven't found ANYWHERE that tells these things to play an animation.
so if i have a custom nug creature in my palette... and i paint one into my area... how do i tell this thing to lie down instead of standing all the time?
How Do I Get Nugs to Lie Down? (Creature Animation Setting?) [Spoiler]

It looks like they set the variables of the nug *instance* in the area (not the resource template).
AMBIENT_SYSTEM_STATE = 1 --> AMBIENT_SYSTEM_ENABLED
AMBIENT_ANIM_PATTERN = 2 --> ambient_relaxed
I guess they don't need to make the state 3 (I'm not sure right now why the looping/non-looping distinction entirely matters), but whatever works I guess since I don't see den100cr_nug used in any scripts even.
It feels wrong, but personally I kind of like setting ambient animations like that myself.
