Anyone know where to find a scroll of Negative Plane Protection, or any items that grant it when equipped?

The Amulet of Power grants NPP.

Besides that, in Bodhi's lair is a Mace of Disruption. If you bring it plus the illithium from the temple quest (involving the piece of art) to Cromwell, you get the Improved Mace of Disruption (which grants NPP).

The spell Limited Wish grants the only spell version of NPP actually worth casting (as the normal version will wear off before you've finished casting it on your 6th party member). But Limited Wish is reliably available first in Spellhold - NPP is a cleric spell, and so you will not find any scrolls at all.

Protection from Magical Weapons can help too, since the enemy has to hit you to drain levels - while Stoneskins and Mirror Images do not help.

If vampires are your problem, you may also be interested in the green scrolls of Protection from Undead.

Edit: I'm guessing you mean at the beginning of the game, in ToB NPP comes relatively easy.

My main problem was with the Demon Wraith (I think that's what it was called) in Watcher's Keep.

I found out that the NPP spell is a priest spell, so no point looking for scrolls I guess, but I proceeded to chapter 3 and got the Amulet of Power instead. I was planning to postpone it for a while, but NPP seems to be nearly a requirement, and it doesn't really matter anyway I guess.

I know about the Limited Wish one, but I haven't got that spell in my current game either, and I've forgotten where it can be found as well. (It's been about 2 years since I last played through)

I'm currently playing a fighter-only group, so can't use the Ao Power, and the unfinished business mod makes the illithium hard to get before you've already fought several vampires. However I have both Korgan (berzerker) and a barbarian in my group, and both their rages protect against level drain. So does Minsc's rage ability.

You can find a Limited Wish scroll as early as chapter one in Ribald's shop in Waukeen's Promenade. There is a woman up the stairs to the left selling scrolls. One of them is Limited Wish. If your pick pocket is high you can also steal it outright.

I always just used the cleric spells. Something about me likes the idea of the spell having a low duration. I suppose it wouldn't be too overpowered if the duration increased with level though.

You don't NEED to protect your entire group. I normally run Korgan and/or Minsc forward to draw the attacks, and then enrage them. Everyone else in the party gets ignored. Perhaps with SCS2 scripting vampires might know to ignore people with negative plane protection, but they go for berzerkers just fine :D
