You can beat her (I have). I advise upon the fight commencing using your mage to cast Blizzard on the room adn running your whole party back out into the halls ways. Then use cone of cold (really the best spell in the whole game) and whatever other debilitating/stunning attacks you have on her and pummel her until she goes down.



That said, the storyline may be more interesting to let yourself get beaten (but then again, a real grey warden wouldn't get beaten by a handful of measley noble guards and an uppity lieutenant).

I prefer the old one (still existing one) that Bioware has for Neverwinter Nights and older games. This one might have "more" social functons, but it sure as heck have a lot more irritating bits.

Actually I'd suggest you to just surrender - way more fun this way. I had Oghren and Zevran rescuing me - damn that was fun

I saved right before the encounter with Cauthrien and tried a few different combinations of allies coming to the rescue and Zevran and Oghren is definitely one of the funnier ones (as is Oghren and the dog). To paraphrase the captain at Fort Drakon, "You can perform out in the main hall on the condition that the dwarf keeps his pants on. That's not negotiable."
