Dismissing the "swords are too big" complaint with "its not real, its ok" is not the point the complainers are making.

I know. It's not the point I'm making either. I'm ridiculing them for nitpicking the most asinine little detail possible...like the guy much earlier in the thread who was complaining about how the sword was oriented in the character's hand on the character select screen.

Ya... the engine isn't perfect and can't recreate everything perfectly, and that does seem like a pretty minor detail...

I liked it.

But this is NOT Dragon Age.

Care to explain?

Did they hire a Japanese to work on DA2? Seems very anime and final fantasy.

Indeed. How dare the early demos of the game be flawed in any way... [sarcasm]

Yeah I mean, it could've been worse.

Fluffy the dancing Ogre could've made an appearance :P

Didn't get the memo? They outsourced all their work to Osaka. The old dev's full time jobs are moderating the forums and trying to appease the fan's impossible demands now.

I didn't see any teenagers, huge eyes, impossibly spiky air, gunblades or chocobos in that video.

I feel like i should remember you gals and guys that this is part of Varrics exeggerated tale.
In normal gameplay there isnt so much gore, so many flying bodyparts and not such rediciolus damage / health.

But u will cry anyways all day long. If u would have seen a video from DA:O in which u see just all the special deathblows u wouldnt accossiate it with todays Dragon Age either.

This Thread makes my head hurt from all the clueless people talking. Play the demo at least yourself and dont presume things from less than ten seconds of footage out of the exeggerated part. JK.

Oh, right. God of Dragon Effect 2. Sorry. I thought this was meant to be Dragon Age. Oops. Wrong forum.

"God of Dragon Effect 2: Because we love to change an entire gameplay system in the sequel!"

Cue the BW Clique in 3...2...1...  :innocent:

So if something awesome happens as soon as you press the button, couldn't Bethany just unleash a torrent of fireballs and own all hurlocks easily? Why even need a warrior then?

That said, though, spell triggering enemy mages like in BG2 could make combat much more interesting.

You have a point. I know it's not a hack and slash, but from that video it looks God of War almost. eiogjer[ogujaeoigj.

Thanks, man. htarzrt :crying:

If I am to throw a little ray of hope and sunshine on this vid, I'd say that this is the console version, not the PC version. The console version and PC version are being tailored to work off their strengths, or whatever. So, the pause/play scheme is more a focus on the PC version than the console version. At least, this is what I think I've been hearing.

Also correct. (As far as I know)

Oh, thank God.... Maybe the interface, colors, and textures will be different, too.

I'm sure they will be. This is a very inconveniant display selection right now considering how rabid all the hardcore fans who don't want a single thing to change are. =P

I'd say its more acurate to say the hardcore PC fans don't want it consolized or Mass Effected/GoW/DevilMayCryed up.

Really? I admit I haven't read every page in this thread, but did a dev confirm this or someone who played the demo past the exaggerated part? I just guess with no solid evidence at all that the exaggerated parts may look like the end game combat.

You mean three games with superior gameplay?

Dragon Age is probably the strongest character-driven game available, but pacing of the gameplay was sluggish.  Do we even know if the animations in the "normal" modules are the same?

from what i saw in the live streams from pax,  enemies didn't blow up and damage was more reasonable (no one hit kills)

I'm a "hardcore PC fan" and I think it looks fine. Of course, I'm also aware that it's a "Varric boasting" scene on the console version of the game, which is probably why I'm not freaking out.

So, my first thought on seeing the video was " Lady Hawk is BAD ASS!" She is beyond awesome! I thought gameplay looked good so far :) For me, I think seeing the re-visioned DA world as Asian/Anime-inspired is going to take some getting used to, but I'll get over it. I have no doubt That DA2 is going to be awesome. I wanna play now dammit! hehe

The game is 5 months out guys, have some faith :)

total opposite for me<_<

seriously, if a game has fast paced action and has more colours the usual grey and sepia it's surely to be anime/asian based right? ugh...

I just watched it, and i was impressed by it. I won't comment on the people saying "THIS NOT DAGON AGE!11!!! THIS THE SUXXOR!" But I will say I can't wait to hold the controller and play this.

If you're into that sort of action game I suppose. Superior game play for me consist of tactical pause and play CRPG's. Ya know? Kinda like what DAO was on PC? Not that I'm jumping to conclusions given what Mr Laidlaw has kindly supplied for information, but more so explaining why people were/are worried about certain aspects given that 360 is the lead sku.

Absolutely !
By the way, Quake is an anime game made by a Japanese company and targetted at console gamers...
