I get what you mean and agree whole heartedly. It just looks ridiculous. Even carrying that thing around would be a hassle.slimgrin wrote...
I wish I had a better way to put this, but it's the width of the sword more than the length. That is what makes it unconvincing when Hawke swings it around like it weighs 2 pounds. The sword needs to look lighter.

hmmm... yes, yes I see what ye mean. It does look too wide, but it is a fantasy game
"He shot one bullet, from a .22 pistol, through the armored car and hit the guy hiding on the other side of the vehicle in the head!"

Also anyone complaining about the realisim need to note there's a freaking mage shooting fireballs at demonic creatures....
"But hey! let's make the gameplay really slow and monotinus to swing a giant sword cause clearly i'm a moron who doesn't understand video games at all!" please tattoo that to you face if you actually think that

Indeed. But you will have to accept my compliment on your taste of name and portrait.

Forgive me. But you have no taste.
You don'thave no right to criticize my personal opinion or "taste" just as much I don't have the right to criticize yours.
I'll put it politely then - my opinion is that your taste is games is bad.

To be fair, criticizing one's taste requires that one have a taste.
He's saying you don't. That's not criticizing.
That is criticzing, even on a grander level, plus he has no clue of what games I like, so his comment is biased by his own believes.

one doesn't exclude the other, Jade Empire was also an RPG, and the choice of weapons don't make any game into a H&S

I would take that as a compliment, though I've never played BG2.

I actually like BG 1-2 a lot, also F1-2, and love Septerra Core, while I dislike F3, and I also like and dislike many other games.
"Taste" is not static and one can't be described just by what kind of dishes he/she prefers or what his/her favorite ice flavor is. There is no human who has no tastes, only people you either don't know yet enough to know his/her tastes, or people who have different ones from yours.

I wondered if anyone else would think the same thing. Dynasty Warriors immediately came to mind.
Overall I found the video to be pretty darn good. The mobs seemed at least somewhat responsive to her attacks, being pushed back from the weight of the sword. That was good. And of course the movement overall was nice. It was a tad exaggerated, but not too much. I'm digging it.
The thing really made me think of Dynasty Warriors was that she was plowing through this mass of meaningless, non-threatening mobs. And that's where I hope Varic's exaggerated storytelling comes into play. Even if they are just the typical "pawns", I hope that combat will overall be more meaningful and challenging. Tbh, I feel confident that it will be.
And again, this is looking good. The faster-paced combat is great. I'm really glad us warriors are getting some love and mages aren't getting all of the shiny balloons this time around.

There was lots of interesting stuff in there that I had missed.
Mr. Laidlaw does his best, I'll give him that.

Same here. Queen playing in the background just made it more awesome.
I always wanted more Queen in my Dragon Age. Huzzah!
And, maybe it's me, but by the way the characters move, it seems the graphics will be lovely indeed.

Chall, any chance on a new sequel? Do you plan to use any of my old (years by now?) suggestions? Do you still have contact with the others?
