I dreamed part of this poem, woke up then wrote it.
I'm not usually this "moody" but it's poetry, what can I do?

Warrior's Grave

The taint o'er the land once more does spread,
This time engraved symbols above my head.
Encased in stone I cannot heed
My leader's mission calls to me.

This time it falls to those more able
To repeat the calling told in fable.
Drive back the darkness, the vile and rotten,
Our sacrifices far long forgotten.

Though centuries pass the Maker does send,
More heroes ready to defend.
Will they survive, will they flee?
Or be they laid beside of me?

With golden sword and will of steel,
One brighter Hero, will Maker reveal.
Intrepid and strong, bold into the horde,
No battle songs, nor thought of reward.

Ancestors unite, we hear your call;
Strength of ages, wisdom of all.
Through unseen inspiration and will,
We aid your goal as we lie still.

Together we strike the mightier blow,
And break the blighted menacing foe.
The Hero delivers Victory in hand,
A joyous cry throughout the land.

May none forget your valiant fight,
As you returned our world to light.
To those who fell you made a vow,
Let us be remembered now.

A vistor did call upon this place,
A prayer was spoke with hallowed grace.
Before departing, as if placing a ward,
Laid beside me, the Golden Sword.
