Ok, before I ask you more questions: BACKUP the EACore_apps.ini

Then delete the entire contents of the file, save then try to play the game. If it works then great, if not then answer me this :)

Are those paths correct in the file? (ie if you navigate to those directories are the linked files there?)
What Version of Windows are you running? ( 64 or 32bit )

Just had that AWC.dll error appearing once again, and your fix worked well (deleting the file's contents),

Cheers!

Weirdly enough, the game worked well as Vanilla, but when I patched to 1.04 the error started to appear. My game is DA:O Digital Deluxe Edition from EA Store.

This fix also worked for me. Note that you want to create a blank file called EACore_App.ini with 0 bytes in it. If you delete it completely, Dragon Age silently fails and doesn't come all the way up.

On my Win XP setup, this file was at C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\EACore_App.ini

Open EACore_app.ini look for the line the that is shown as "SharedServerId=DragonAge" and change it to the line i have shown below this disables this part of the of the .ini file.

;SharedServerId=DragonAge

Hope this helps people out have not tried it fully so not sure if it will effect game play or not as i havent tried it on my machine got a friends Dragon Age working using this method it gives you some more options at least if you need to get the line back to normal just remove the ; from the line. But before you change the EACore_app.ini back it up first.

If you ask me then i think the same problem was faced by in Dragon Age : Origin game where i was getting same  AWC.dll Error. At that time i have worked with the issue by clearing the EACore_apps.ini file content. So i think same procedure can work to resolve this issue. If you can then give a try to same and see it works for you or not.

I know this an old post, but I'm running into this same issue. I've tried both solutions listed here and neither of them seem to work. I've tried deleting the contents of the EACore_apps.ini file and I've also tried replacing the SharedServer line in the file. If anyone has any further solutions to this, it would be greatly appreciated.
