There are plenty of movies that will get me choked up, on the verge of tears (the end of Wall-E, Up (I'm a widower), the last scene of the last episode of Blackadder), but there are a few that will actually get me to cry:

Band of Brothers - in many places, but especially when they discover the concentration camp

The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf's fall in Moria, Boromir's death, Gandalf & Eomer's charge at Helm's Deep, the Rohirrim charging Pelennor Fields, Theoden's death, Sam's return at Shelob's Lair, "You bow to no one!", the Grey Havens

Apollo 13 - Splashdown & Recovery

For some reason, scenes of loyalty, honor, and sacrifice really get to me. I've noticed since the deaths of my first wife (Nov. 2008) and my father (Nov. 2009), I tend to be a little more sensitive to things like that (Tali discovering her father in ME and parts of her romance dialog, Isolde & Conner in DA:O if you got all the mages killed at the Circle Tower, the asari on Illium talking about her daughters dying on the Citadel during Sovereign's attack). Or, maybe I'm just becoming a sap in my old age.

This! The third one was just as bad though, and Alien vs Predator (1 and 2) way to kill two good film franchises with one stone.

"I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar."

I love Joss Whedon because he creates such compelling characters. I hate him because he can not allow anyone to be happy, ever.

The last movie to make me tear up was The Road, before that, Gran Torino. Haven't seen Toy Story 3 or Up yet but I REEEEAAALLLY want to!

I find the same things touch me, but nobility and bravery take me to this strange place where I cry and giggle like a schoolgirl at the same time. The episode "The Breaking Point" in Band of Brothers always gets me - Spiers making his run straight through the enemy line, and then running back... astounding. All the more so for the fact it actually happened.

The last thing that had me in tears was the last act of This Is England '86 - Combo's final act of nobility and redemption was beautiful to me.

Looking back I now realize I don't really remember clearly when I cried over a movie, but I think one of them was the last unicorn.

It doesn't take that much to make me a little misty eyed in a movie.

Off the top of my head, LotR: Two Towers did it for me in the scene where the king stands by the graves of his sons and says "No parent should have to bury their children" :crying:

I was wracking my brain for more examples from The Two Towers because I knew there had to be more, and that was one of them.

I've been brought to tears many times watching movies. Everything from Toy Story to Blackhawk Down.

Hmm... I think the last (and I think only time) I cried during a movie was in Letters From Iwo Jima, when the Marines executed two Japanese prisoners just because they didn't feel like watching them, I felt bad because both of the guys wanted to stop fighting and just go home.

I have only cried once during a movie. That was watching Godzilla vs. Destroyer. The ending is very emotional, from the death of Junior to Godzilla's death.

Saving Private Ryan - Mainly during the DDay scene, thinking about the soldiers that actually went through that and continued to fight forward.

Band of Brothers - Same reason as SPR, more tears of pride than tears of sadness.

I Am Legend - The part where he has to kill his dog. I hated that part.

The Straight Story really got to me for some reason, great film and very underrated (or under the radar).

Rutger Hauer's speech at the end of Blade Runner gets me a bit choked up. Not only is it so beautifully written (by Rutger I believe!) but Harrison Ford's reaction to it is just marvellous.

The Passion of the Christ and Dancer in the dark made me cry so hard that my heart nearly burst through my chest. No lie.

Didn't care for Passion of the Christ but yeah, Dancer in the Dark was tremendous. Need to re-watch that again.

The Last of the Mohicans, when Uncas dies.

The kiss scene in Jade Empire. I never experienced more emotional involvement in any other Bioware game ever again. Well aside from Neverwinter Nights but multiplayer probably doesnt count.
