Somebody should copy-paste the sobbing audio into the FemShep video so we know for sure if it works and how much it affects the scene. It could also serve as evidence if they continue to support the "It wouldn't fit" statement.

I'm sure someone will eventually.

I see that most people don't know what it means to put themselves in other people's shoes.

If
only FemShep were able to give Tali a paragon hug interrupt during her
loyalty quest...can you imagine how the forums would look? lol.

That is a horrible example. In context, or not.

And why do you think that??

Because what this thread is about is so small and insignificent that I didn't even notice it until you brought it up. While MShep not hugging Tali would be so blatant that there would probably be little disagreement on the matter.

I think that example is perfect.  The similarity being that one gender of Shepard misses out on a key emotional moment of an LI character, even if it's one tiny thing.

FemShep didn't miss out on anything. Liara still cried. She still smiled. She still delivered the same lines. She still did everything she did with maleShep, and you cry over a few anomilies.

In case anyone wants to actually do it I've manually synced the 2 versions of the crying/non crying videos and they match perfectly - so it would be possible to demonstrate rather easily that the male romance cutscene can be superimposed over the female cutscene and they will sync from beginning to end exactly - so the reason for the difference remains either an oversight or a conscious decision. It is not a technical issue.  As I said in my last post, it's a curious situation and the dev nonanswer only deepens the mystery Hmmm.

You guys can speculate on how you would react if the tables were turned but since you didn't encounter this with your MaleShep that romanced Liara or your character that did not romance her, then you really have no room to tell us how you think we should feel.

Maybe some of us don't put all our marbles of enjoyment in the relationship basket and instead take the game as a whole picture of enjoyment?  I mean we may not understand because we are not as emotionally invested in this one aspect of the game as you are but that still gives us a right to voice our opinion otherwise.

I would be just as critical if someone came in and said that because their Shepard can't use an assault rifle but carries one in some cut scenes the whole game is ruined.

It's funny . . . . devs nonanswers seem to remain as non-answers. . . . I just hope hat bringing this to the attention of the devs, they will try not to allow oversights like this slip by for the next time. Like someone said while I was catching up, it might be too late to ask for a fix now. They never fixed the helmet issue, after all, and that was an even bigger deal.

Yeah look to the future I would not worry too much about the scene as is, or I should clarify them fixing the scene to your specifications.

Yeah, I managed to get a dev to come in here and give us a response which is a hard feat to do. The fact that they felt it was important enough to respond to us, indicates that this is actually a big deal. Also, the Liara not sobbing for my FemShep sucks but this issue is something I don't want to see happen again.

I do not want to spend $60 on a game and get more animation problems that will hinder an emotional/important scene from happening in my game. The female character of the game deserves to be worked on as hard as the MaleShep version.

Not sure if I understand what you are trying to say here . . .lol.

I think you are agreeing with me.  For the most part.  I never said my specifications, other than I don't care for Liara having more emotional response to Sheploo.  But that is a minority opinion in here.

Yeah, Ryn, awesome job at drawing attention to the devs.  Hopefully in the future, they will not allow such an important oversight to slip by.  Broken record, but that is all we can really hope for, well, imo.

Okay, this annoys me almost as much as anything else about this whole mess.

Don't assume the game is 'ruined' for us just because we feel strongly and negatively about part of it.  You don't care.  We get it.  Quit trying to marginalize our feelings on the matter by pretending that it's the only thing that any of us care about and engaging in hyperbole (this goes for everyone, I'm just picking this post out as a glaring example).  I wouldn't get involved in the first place if I didn't like the game, and I daresay that it's the same for the rest here as well.

Yes, but what gets me is the response is BS.  If you sync the 2 videos thay are perfectly 100% exact.  When you get them right on top of each other you can't even tell there are 2 different audio tracks playing.  The music, the length of the scenes - the animations - everything.  At the end when Liara turns around and says "it's been two years"  sounds like one voice. These are two different versions of the exact same cutscene.   I'm dying to know what happened and why a dev is trying to avoid giving the real explanation.

I knew my animator-trained eyes were picking up shenanigans.

In this case, it's not even a situation where they would need to move or scale keyframes.  It's a case where they would just need to copy keyframes.  Copy.

They didn't copy when they could have, easily.  They changed it deliberately, for no readily apparent reason.  And the dev response is trying to convince us that the model scale and VO is responsible for any differences?

"That's horsecrap, ma'am."

Yup, that's my theory now too.  The only thing I can think of is that they were after the "boy consoling the crying girl" as some have mentioned previously.  As idiotic as that decision would have  been - it's really not out of place in a game with all those unecessary shots of Miri's ridiculously exaggerated rear end.

Don't pretend you have some special outlook on the issue just because you were "overlooked". You weren't. Sometimes **** happens. Deal with it. You seriously don't expect me to see you as some sort of victim, do you? 'Cause guess what, you aren't.

FemShep was overlooked.  Oh and I didn't create this thread to gain sympathy from you.  Why would I care about what some average Joe thinks?  Are you going to fix the game for me?  I did this to get the attention from the devs but people like you kept coming in here to stall the process by telling us how you think we should feel.

This thread gets my full support. I may not feel 100% of your pain, but I certainly understand. You have my condolences.

It looks like very sloppy work to me. I hope it gets fixed, but until then, It's very good you brought this to people's attention. I'm glad you took the time to make the OP. Again, you have my condolences.

Stall what process? You do realize that a Dev already commented here. And it still wasn't enough to satisfy your idiocy. That is all you're gonna get until he believes it is necessary to comment again. Until then, you are stuck with us "average joes" telling you how stupid you are. Keep playing the victim. It'll get you far in life.

Makes me wonder why some seem almost threatened by the presence of this thread...

Solid point made... I'm in a weird place about this, where I had nearly all my dreams come true regarding the DLC -- scratch that, I had every one of them come true, and some that only lesEnfantsTerribles dared to dream as well -- and yet, I have to admit, it seems pretty pointless to make a scene so clearly different to different people.  (Even if my snarky side wants to write it off as them realizing that Ali needed to carry all of the emotion in that scene because she didn't have Jennifer to help her... much apologies to people with a different opinion of Mark's voice acting, really, and I must admit my opinion is based entirely on youTube vids and Eden Prime.)  And I actually don't need, probably don't want Liara sobbing loudly, but someone did, someone recorded Ali Hillis sobbing, and somebody used it in one gender and not the other, and that definitely seems to say something about the perception of the genders as the programmers see it.  I just have no idea what.

I'm very tired of arguing on these forums, by now... but I've decided to stick my nose in here for those that aren't so exhausted.  Thanks, Ryn and company.

You know you are actually making a bigger deal than most of us have today, right?  If the audio glitch had no effect on you, then why are you still here?  Bioware makes an obvious mistake but as their paying customer, I'm not allowed to make a deal out of it?  I didn't result to name calling the developers like you have to me.

Yes, he did, which was much appreciated.  However no one has yet to answer the pertinent question. As I said before, I’m not all that upset about it, but I am curious.  I’m even more more curious as to why the dev didn’t answer the main question.  Could be lots of reasons he didn’t answer it, but still, I’m curious.  As to this being idiotic, well that’s a matter of personal perspective.  Everything  is a matter of personal perspective.

Have you seen Sheploo smile? Have you? That is the creepiest thing I have ever seen. And you're demanding answers for a second of missing sobbing noises when the devs still have to answer for putting such a horrible, fightening image in the game that I still wake at night screaming?

If anything, the devs clearly favour femshep. That single expression was a cruel torture meant to deliberately drive us away from Sheploo.
