According to the polls I've seen, about 50% (±10%) players prefer femShep over dudeShep.

iirc, Bioware's actual figures gathered from the game itself are something like 80/20 in favor of male Shepard...

IIRC, Bioware's actual figures from the game indicated that some silly majority of the players couldn't even finish it. Which makes me wonder if they count a new player every time I create a new character to fix sheekbone angle or something.

I'm ardently in favor of FemShep, but the truth is, most gamers--and you have to remember the BSN represents a tiny fraction of the people actually playing--will play ManShep. The casual onlooker may not even realize FemShep is an option.

IIRC, Bioware's figures from the game indicated players who had played MaleShep at all, not players who "prefer" MaleShep. That means 20% of the players never even created a MaleShep character. There are plenty more who play FemSheps and vastly prefer the female character, but who have created a male character at some point.

Either that or they're WoW and EVE junkies that constantly say ME2 is the Best Game Ever, yet somehow haven't even managed to get to Horizon in the five months they've owned the game. I know a shocking number of those.

Back on topic: now that (some of) these differences have been confirmed as bugs, are they going to be fixed?

I love the "deal with it, be glad she's even in it" attitude some posters have about the femshep treatment, kind of like how if you utter anything remotely related to sexism, a defensive douche always appears to "correct" you. The "deal with it" attitude is why stuff like this continues to happen, and when it does continue to happen it's then used as justification as to why things shouldn't change!

The results were all very vague though. They just state that 80% played as male!Shep, not that they played exclusively as male!Shep. It's possible that 80% of players also have a female Shepard. They should have put the % of both male and female to make it clearer.

I see it all over, and it never fails to make me facepalm.

Not to be a stickler but this thread is more about the technical issues in LotSB than the Male/Female numbers of the IGN statistics.

Good thing we are keeping Bioware on their toes even more now. Jesse Houston is my new hero!

Deal with it, be glad she's even in it.

I find it funny that Mass Effect 2 is chalk full of clipping issues, and one involving Liara sends the forum into a rage.

Me, too. I don't think ME1 had nearly as much clipping. It gets annoying as hell.

Me three. Honestly, "chalk full" is being rather generous. Mass Effect 2 is plagued by clipping issues. There, I typed it. I feel better.

I think it's awesome that rynluna opened a line of communication and that BioWare took the time to acknowledge the concerns that she and others share. We now have BioWare's assurance that future Mass Effect content will be screened under improved quality controls.

And so it begins.....

The epic fight between those poor souls whom do not wish to believe that femshep is not quite as popular as they desire her to be, by opposing official statistics, and those who combat these non-comformists.

Since the original intent of this thread was to bring the issue to Bioware's attention concerning the differences in the Liara romance with a male or female Shepard, and Jesse Houston was kind enough to respond, I'm going to lock this thread down before it becomes a debate about differences with a male or female Shepard for the entire game. There are other threads for such discussion.
