Just for fun and because i'm enjoying Mass Effect and Dragon Age too much at the moemnt, I tried the demo for ME2 recently on my 5 year old machine.

:D

Well, guess what? Mass Effect 2 runs like a charm! I was so surprised, I bought the game the next day. Thank you Bioware in the name of all Family Dads on a budget who still enjoys cutting edge games (but has limited gaming funds). Hope I can finish the trilogy...

MY COMPUTER:
--------------------
Motherboard: ASUS A7N8X
Power Supply: Thermaltake 420W
CPU: Athlon XP 3200+ (400)
Memory Chip 1: Corsair DDR 512 MB (400)
Memory Chip 2: Kingston DDR 1 GB
Video Card: Video Card: ATI Radeon 4800 Pro
Soundcard: Soundblaster Audigy2
Mouse: Logitech MX510 (red)
Keyboard: Logitech iTouch
Hard Disk: Maxtor 120GB (7200) (8MB)
Window XP Service Pack 3

So for all of you out there having trouble running this game, there's hope.

p.s. I couldn't load Mass Effect at first, kept running into the "black loading screen" untill I started it in Windowed Mode. Don't know why, but it worked.

Compared to a Pentium P4, even a single core A64 is more of a speedy critter than the poor Intel tortoises that kept on being sold well beyond their ability to keep up with the AMDs (OK, I'll amend that.  The AMDs were out in front for games for at least four years, and the really astute game players knew that. For business computing, and other non-gaming use, the AMD lead was less compelling until about two years prior to the release of the Core CPUs).
