Lions are in the RWS creature pack.
You could probably make a flesh golem from my pack here.

The funny thing about flesh golems, is that I mostly made one, and then sorta forgot about it. I even did a lot of the animation work. I just never textured it.

I know it's too late, but a couple of little critters that make good cannon fodder are Xvarts and Tasloi. I'd like to see Ettercaps, too. I know someone was working on them, but I'm not sure if he quit on it or not.

Or a bone golem?  What about a Cambion?

And get busy with that flesh golem!

Wow! That would make for a very interesting addition to NWN2.

The truth is, if you don't want to do stuff like switch animal heads, it is not as important as whatever you do will be great!

All right, a challenge! How about a cloaker, ki-rin, krenshar or leucrotta? :)

Heh, lots of good suggestions, but I started making the Salamander two nights ago. Got pretty far with it too, not uploadable though.

As I said to HF earlier - its not ready by the weekend, so I'm going to drop it for now, and finish it up (its close) when the ankheg is out of my hands.

The Lion is from my creature pack, and can be found in Pains monster compilation as well

Yeah I like the lion. Thanks for the Tiger too, Hellfire! I'm using it for my Al-Qadim adventure; along with the Naga, scorpion, lioness, and probably the canines as well.

Speaking of Al Qadim, I wouldn't mind seeing a Camel. Maybe with or without traveling gear on it's back. Now that would not only impress me, but I guarantee it will be in the adventure I'm working on.

I just wish we had rideable mounts. I have an entire quest drawn up that does a short tribute to (2004) Hildago. I'll probably have to dump it.

@ ArtEchoke: You may not find this funny but I have all of a sudden found quite a few creatures associated with Asian mythology that have human bodies and animal heads... :D

@ Hellfire: I was just looking at your conversion pack (I didn't realize we had lions already which is fantastic!) and I noticed some of the creatures say "tintable" in the descriptions, others are tintable in the screenshots (Kuo Toa). So I was wondering if they are all, in fact tintable?

In all seriousness, I strongly encourage you, or anyone who's interested in making head-helmets to download and learn blender. It sounds like the community can get a lot of mileage out of it.

If no one does anything with it, in a few weeks I'll make a tutorial.

@ Hellfire: Thanks for answering. :)

@ ArtEChoke: I suppose it is time for a small confession... Many of these types of threads pop up and I often suggest something I would like to see made. I have yet to pick a winner... But that is ok because no matter what you guys make, we all benefit. But my small secret is that if I need something and it is not available, I have vowed to do without. Under no circumstances will I let myself touch any modelling beyond very basic texture fixing.

This may sound a little crazy so let me explain. I joined the NWN1 community with a story I wanted to tell. I never told it... That is because the modelling bug took hold of me and never let go. Not the joy of modelling but the idea that anything you want can be made. I built a great city with lots of very, very cool stuff in it. When it came time to step outside the city, I needed a dry river bed:

http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=3906

Then I needed a satifactory transition from rural to forest:

http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=1593

I couldn't get through this on my own so Danmar came in to save the day.

Then I started looking long and hard at the vault and found many tilesets I wanted/would need. But back then, people hated downloading stuff in order to play. The CEP came out, then the CTP was begun. I joined the CTP (crossed paths with Hellfire a few times there although Christopher did most of the talking to Hellfire) in order to create a mega file that I could use for my own project. Three months after I took the helm of the CTP, NWN2 was announced and the collective efforts of the NWN1 community was significantly diminished. Few people wanted to work on a project that would be obselete in the near future. Turns out quite a few people stuck with NWN1 in the end but no one knew what would happen then.

I did stay with the CTP for a year. But then I pretty much called it quits with NWN1. The looming arrival of NWN2 had gotten to me as well.

Why the long story? Because this time I am obsessed with not getting off track at all. I made a vow to myself to only build directly for my project, Stay as focused as possible.

However, I believe in the community and what I make is for the community to use/share as well. What I learn, I try to put into tutorials so that others can benefit from it. What I make such as shops, familiy compounds, city buildings and later on custom creatures (all of this Oriental) is all going to go straight into the community so that others can benefit from it too.

In short, I'm trying to do my part without getting sidetracked. And when it comes to other people's stuff, all of it is a blessing that I am grateful for. As I do what I choose to do, I cannot expect any more or less from anyone else.

I hope that makes sense. :)

Just as a footnote to anyone who is interested. It turns out just about all mythical chinese creatures are a mixture of existing animals. So it could keep a modeller busy till the 22nd century. :D

A sample from the Chinese Bestiary :

15. R E D R U - F I S H ( C H I R U )™aThe Eminent River flows forth from Green-Hills Mountain southward into Carp-Wings Lake. Many Red Ru-Fish are found in the lake. It has the basic form of a fish with a human face and makes a sound like a man- darin duck. Eating it will prevent scabies.29

According to another version noted by Guo Pu, eating it will protect against epidemics.

Found here:

http://www.scribd.co...hinese-Bestiary

(The creature info starts at p. 105)

What is cool about this is that many of these creatures have body parts that protect against something: poisons, confusion, sleep etc. It literally reads like a countermeasure against NWN2 spells. Even though I won't have goats with nine-tails and eyes on their back, I will at least have my own NWN2 versions of many of these beasts.

And as I seem to be hijacking this thread. I'll stop there.

Both of those would be great! Thanks for working on some new creatures. Before we know it, the entire Monster Manual will be available and we could even put together a NWN2 version ToEE.
