You can not portray full nudity with M... Only implicit sexual content or partial nudity (mostly either sidebood I think).
Read it again. I'm NOT ASKING for full nudity.
Err... then you got to qualify even partial nudity. Showing breasts or behinds is also Adult rated IIRC.
E.g. the Witcher Cards. They did self-censor themselves, but there was a debate if the uncensored version should be adult rated (was it? I think it was...).
I'm not entirely sure this is true...
I believe Age of Conan was M rated and they showed full topless women even in quest lines... They originally had all tunes, when you removed their armor, appear entirely nude but they were forced or chose to add underwear to the game prelaunch, but the full nude models still existed. Still, they show more than just partial nudity and still got their M rating.
Really I think Bioware's choices aren't based on what their games will be rated.

If that's true, then I think that's ridiculous. M is 17+, same as rated R movies. But regardless, it doesn't matter because I was not even asking for partial nudity. All I'm asking for is that they lose the lame censorship. That's not the same as asking for nudity. I have said repeatedly that no nudity is perfectly fine if they can still make the scene compelling. If they can't figure out a way to do that without resorting to granny panties, then I'd rather they just not try, and do a FTB. I have confidence in them, though; I think they can pull it off.SirShreK wrote...

And anyway, it says that M can include "sexual content," which is, of course, pretty vague. AO jumps to "graphic nudity," but nowhere else does it mention light or brief nudity.

You can have full nudity in a M rated game, you just can't have extreme depictions. Take the Sex scenes in DA:O, take out the clothes and that would be the case.
GTA4: Lost and the Damned has full frontal male nudity
Therea re countless games with topless females
The amount of nudity doesn't matter as in God of War they just sit there for an undetermined amount of time. What makes the jump are graphic sex scenes that often allow the player to control them (Like GTA: San Andreas and Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy)

Take the Hot Coffee mod for SA. SA was rated mature and because the mod files were already in the vanillia game just not activated unless you used a patch the ESRB had the right to threaten to change the rating to AO. Forcing Rockstar to rerelease a version with out the hot coffee files, (i have 2 copies of SA one with and one without). But if the vanillia release of SA did not contain the necessary files for the adult content, and Rockstar decided to release the Hot Coffe Mod as a DLC for download from Rockstar servers taking all the legal precautions necessary, the ESRB can not change the rating on the vanillia SA. So you get your vanillia game sutable for sale in Wal Mart, Target or Best Buy, and you also get your adult content DLC for download. The easiest way to ensure that the DLC is only avalable to adults is to require a credit card to purchase the DLC. You also require that the name on the credit card matches the name of the purchaser of the original game. Since you have to be 18 legally to own a credit card, and since you have to be 18 to view pornographic materials, that is as far as a company legally has to go. Bioware already has a system in place that tags the avalable DLCs a user has purchased to the users accounts, it is already being done in DAO and ME2.
There you go adult content avalable for a game, limiting the interference of the ESRB, limiting the avalability of the content to only users of minimum age, and opening up an alternative revenue stream from the primary inventment in the original game. Everybody wins oh and "FAUX News" does too by having something to foam at the mouth about besides the whipping of the "dead horse" named Obama will cease for a few moments.

Only in US, the rest of the world have the uncensored version since the beginning.
Thank god my edition is european, so my cards were preserved.
If you want to buy the uncensored version in US it is called "Director's Cut", available only online.

Initially the you fool part might seem apropriate, but if you are willing ti listen to the reasons you will see the method to the madness. Like anything you believe in you have to support it, and stealing TW would not support CD Project Red. See they made a great game for the adult gamer, it included dark story elements, and full frontal nudity if one purchased a different version. Stealing the game would not convey support for CD Project Red and if enough people did that then they would go out of bussiness, and that would be contrary to what i want. What i want is for them to make another game, which they are. I also want them to make the game with a nod to the adult gamer by adding in some content that in not for children. I also by purchasing the game get to support the company (gogamer.com) who was willing to provide me an adult gamer, with a game that contains the content i want with out having to jump through hoops to get it. Gogamer was great they did all the nasty work, they dealt with the exchange rate (dollars to pounds), they made sure the British version worked for American computers, they made sure the version was in english, and then they shipped it directly to my door. It was and is necessary to support both of these companies because they helped me in a sense tell the American government and the hypocrits who run it to go **** themselves, and that is priceless.

Hey, I'm not a fan of having to pay more for a product either, but I support asaiasai on this.
If you torrent the game you're not just conveing the "conventional morality", you are also damaging the game's developer.
CD Projekt invested a lot of money in Witcher Enhanced Edition, correcting bugs and adding content to the game, not just redoing visual style.
Also because of this changes the game produced a "blur effect bug" and the company rushed a patch to correct this, unlike one certain company that left games unpatched and bugged, after all, "this bugs don't impact on gameplay".
I'm brazilian and in my country the politicians came with the brilliant idea that the game Counter Strike "teach war tatics and guerilla", so the game was banned.
Don't laugh, please.
Gamers here veehement protested against and the government back down after a month.
It's up to the people tell the government what they want.
Sometimes we aren't listen, but we have to make clear that the decision don't have our support.

EE was free for those who had purchased the game, so not really. I think TW censhorship also included the monsters and dryad´s full frontals. In Europe they said they could have added a few things more wth no problems. Wouldn´t fit very well with the books then, there´s not much explicit sex.
Aren´t places for sale limited with certain ratings in US? I thought that was the problem.

We British and Europeans seem to get more upset about violence and gore than we do about sex. I mean most European countries have strict anti gun laws; and by contrast many of them have a rather low age of consent (15/16 in most places) whereas in some places in the states there are practically no gun control and yet for some strange reason the age of consent is higher. At least thats the impression ive gotten.
Frankly I think its nuts how gungho some sections of the american media and populace get about sex (and worse swearing!) when they barely blink an eye at someone getting their head blown off in the middle of the street.
And before anyone gets their panties in a twist about me saying that I am not saying that ALL Americans are like that and ALL American media outlets are like that. Just a very very annoyingly vocal minority.

Yep. Some of the big chains won't stock mature stuff. Most notably Wal-Mart.
I don't know why anyone uses Wal-Mart rather than Amazon anyway, but apparently losing those chains can have a substantial impact on sales.

As an American buddy i can assure you i am as perplexed about all of this as you are, and i live here. I am saving my pennies so i can move to someplace where there is intelligent life, i was thinking France because French chicks are hot and i hear the wine is fantastic. If not France there is always Ireland, the chicks might not be as hot, but with enough Irish whiskey they all are beauty queens.

So very offtopic this thread has gotten.
Anyway, speaking to the actual purpose of this thread while I have no urge to "pimp myself out" ingame. Some non plot crucial elements where flirting can get you something, or be another way of getting something (ala getting a guard to let you out of prison by tricking them into coming into the cell.) more often than you could do in origins would be an interesting and amusing, if not neccesary addition.
