Mass Effect 2 can't log on to Cerberus Network

My Mass Effect 2 won't log on to Cerberus Network anymore. It tells me there was an error when communicating with the server and it asks me for my EA Account username (e-mail address) and password. I tried entering these a couple of times and it's still not working. And yes, I am positive I am using the correct log in details.
Besides, I have disabled my antivirus and my firewall and it's still not working. And in any case I haven't installed anything new that could interfere with the game in any way. The only new thing would be that I have installed the latest DLC with the Shadow Broker.
Do you know if this is a common problem or what is happening?
Thanks

I just installed some new hardware so was paranoid that something got mucked up.
But glad to see that maybe not, still I want to put this through its paces guess I'll try to run w/o cerberus for a while.

I just finished installing the new DLC and started freaking out. LOL thank goodness it's not just me. Anyone know how often this error happens? Or is this a new issue since they've added this DLC?
First time I've had this issue in MONTHS.

Since I have NEVER had any issue logging on to Cerberus before linking accounts I thought for sure I had effed it up. Looks like it's the network after all!!!
I'm sure stuff is REALLY FUBAR now....
EA thanks for making something as simple as DLC soooo complicated.
Bioware you guys still rock... too bad EA acquired you

Same story here. Does it affect gameplay at all to not be able to connect?
I think it only affects you if it's the first time you've booted up the game since installing DLC. I know I was able to access all my DLC just fine a few minutes ago so I'm not stressing it.

Great, the day I attempted to link my accounts up this happens. I thought I had screwed up linking them so went back and reverted some account info.

Since I JUST installed the DLC, it will not authenticate it for me so I won't be able to play it until this issue is resolved. Recently submitted a question for the Live Chat Support on EA's site to see what the sit-rep is.

Is it necessary to be logged in through the game in order to install dlc?
EDIT: Just got back online here too!
