Competing with Haer'Dalis for Aerie's heart in BGII.  Uhh, or so I heard.  *cough*

Honestly, judging by his performance in Redemption, I wouldn't consider Feron a threat to anything.

Lol, seriously. People were sure he had some hidden agenda because he was so aggressively incompetent, that it would turn out he had been the Shadow Broker all along or something.

On topic, I've noticed that none of the fanbases really appreciate "competition", real or imagined. Whether it's Feron, or Kal'Reegar, or even poor Lillith (some Kaidan fans seem to loathe her and are happy she died in that gruesome manner).

Well this is Shepard we are talking about, totaly a Captain Kirk. Feron is just a minor character in the role of the classical "damsel (or malien or something like that...) in distress".

Aha! A thread idea.

Off I go to open a new topic.

I am glad to be able to inspire new ideas, thank you.

Both delusional? Sorry, couldn't resist. Actually you have been presenting rational arguements more often lately.

I don't understand it really. If it is well written it only adds to the story and character development. Realistically all of Shepard's ME1 LIs should have have hooked up with other people while Shepard was dead.

My (Andrea) Shepard had a romance with Kaidan in Mass Effect and none in Mass Effect 2 and I found the romance of Lillith and Kaidan rather cute actually. Of course my Shepard would have been heartbroken, yet, I never really felt it right for a commander of a more or less military vessel to mess with her crew. I was seriously sorry I couldn't save Lillith.

But... they didn't have a romance. Posted Image

The scene plays the same whether it's Ash or Kaidan. There is far more indication to a thing between Liara and Feron, or even Kal'Reegar and Tali (which is to say, not a whole lot in either case), than anything between Kaidan and Lillith.

Back when I was a Liara fan tho, I have to confess being irritated about That Stinking Desert Lizard. You have to admit, Liara's obsession about him in ME2 was pretty weird, even after reading what their interactions in the comic books were... Still... Posted Image

Not that I would have had any objection to Liara (or Ash) hooking up with someone. Just... not a fricking Drell. Posted Image Posted Image Haven't seen a Drell worthy of continued living in ME yet...

Seriously, how come I can commit genocide against the Collectors and the Rachni but can't commit genocide against the Drell? Shesh.

What's weird is I don't like it if the relationship has already started.

But a little third party competition while you're still romancing the LI? Yeah, that would almost be fun.

That's one of the wisest things said to day. there aren't alot of likeable Drell characters so far in the mass effect series.

But in Feron's defence, he's atleast tolerable in LOTSB. Unlike Redemption where I wish that a bus would crash through the wall and kill him.

I don't hate Drell, just all the characters who are Drell.

Mostly because they are either...

A) An annoying Han Solo wannabe (get's more tolerable later)
B) a useless and completely irrelevant assasin, who's reason to be in the game is a big mystery
c) an annoying punk with a gun

Drell #1 is a hypocrite
Drell #2 is just incompetent

...both Drell characters are not exactly my favorites (the race is ok)

I liked Thane.

He reminded me of that guy you'd sit with in class when none of your other friends were in your class, the type where you'd talk about all kinds of much more intellectual topics then what you would with your regular friends.

*ques backseat romance scene*

Let's hope that thing's got some shock absorbers.  In the air.

A hear a little competition is good in that character building/confirmation area...no, not that area.  Get your mind out of the truck, you flying relationship therapist you.

Edit: trucks can be trunks.  I just suddenly like trucks.

what put me off of Thane as a character were these constant flashbacks he was having at a certain point.
It was annoying to say the least.

Yeah.. Those flashbacks were bad, really bad. Perhaps they are the only thing more annoying than Liara's fainting in ME1.

His excuses for killing...lame

You know, the "Thane's body kills people. Thane's mind and soul don't" nonsense.

Didn't you get this "Sorry for the big scene, I learned to know someone, let's be friends" email in Mass Effect 2? I thought it was referring to Lillith.

Well, I for one hope the two crazy kids get together. Tali and Kal, too. Shep might be the Hero of the Citadel, but Kal'Reegar is the Hero of Canton. He had his own riot and everything.

The drell bashing in this thread, and scorn poured over the species as a whole makes me feel incredibly sad. :( Thane is one of my favourite ME2 squadmates, and I really like Feron too. I suppose that haters are gonna hate, and all that.

Regarding the thread topic itself, not a chance. It's made perfectly clear that they're not interested in each other, and that Liara loves and intends to keep a promise to Shepard. Furthermore, Feron seems like way too much of a nice guy, and too appreciative and respectful of Shepard to ever try to make a move on her girlfriend. I mean, whenever Shepard speaks to him, he makes a point of standing up, shaking her hand and thanking her.
