The drell bashing in this thread, and scorn poured over the species as a whole makes me feel incredibly sad. :(

As I said before, I think the race is rather interesting...but I dislike the individuals we meet in ME2/Redemption (even without a certain entrance scene) ;)

You know, the "Thane's body kills people. Thane's mind and soul don't" nonsense.

But then you said you didn't hate the drell race--that's a drell trait, not a Thane trait.

Personally, yeah, it's a weak excuse. But as Legion says, you can't really do justice to racial traits by comparing it to your own. Even if it is a poor excuse, I'm at a loss to see anything hypocritical about it.

Pffft. Rubbish. You just hate on Thane because you can't prevent him from killing Nassana. :P

^Don't take it too serious LesEnfantsTerrible, some don't have the imagination to find something to like in more races than their own favourites, that's all. Drell certanly have their own charm I think.

You do have good point there. Feron is not acting as he has any romantical interest in Liara and are happy to leave Liara free to romance Shepard.

Heh, I remember the huge threads on the old boards about that!

Sigh.

The wily asari politician from ME1 was turned into space hitler to give that useless desert vermin a cool entrance. What a sad waste of a Grey DeLisle voiced character! Posted Image

Yes, her character derailment in ME2 still annoys me.

Well I've resolved to cut him some slack, since I don't know what my moral beliefs would be if I'd been trained to be a killer since the age of six.

Also I like the idea of alien cultures and beliefs that feel very controversial to us. It feels realistic.

Not being able to stop Thane is not nearly as upsetting as not being able to stop myself.  I've got all that medigel, and I still can't save Vasir.  I guess she really was badly injured before the fight began, and was too far gone by the time it was over.

What character derailment. She was a criminal and a paranoid one at that who murdered plenty of individuals most likely --- and wanted to bump her own sister off.

Some people have a veeeeery strange idea of who to keep and who to kill.

You don't see the obvious amping up of her ev0lness in ME2?

She was unscrupulous in ME1, no question. But her sister was blackmailing her, and was a truly nasty piece of work at that: a slaver and a pirate. One of the Shep answer options is even "You could have just told me, I'd have happily killed her for free.", or words to effect.

Then in ME2, she's killing her own workers if they quit ("people who quit, just disappear"), hell, she's killing them just to clear out the tower. It's like she went insane between the two games. Bioware wanted to make sure most gamers wouldn't have scruples about becoming an accessory to her murder, so they derailed her into a complete monster.

There was no indication that she was particularly murderous beyond her blackmailing slaver pirate sister, if we go by ME1 content alone.

Well, Nassana was a side character that just wasn't that interesting to me. I'm not sure you can derail a character with so little content. We know that she was a bureaucrat, as as such, has an obligation to obey laws--which she clearly had no scruples about breaking.

Personally speaking, my favorite races in the Mass Effect universe are the humans, Asari, Turians, Elcor, Hanar, Salarians, Keepers, Protheans/Collectors, Rachni, Vorcha, Batarians, Krogan, Quarians, Geth, and of course the Reapers. I don't care one way or another for the Thorian. If the Drell and the Volus were to be wiped out in the initial Reaper attack, I'd appreciate it.

she explains that she told feron that she is as you humans say 'taken' if i explained that in a complicated enough way...

liara and feron were not involved together, however it seems like they might well get involved if you decide not to romance her

it's different story. but why all drells in ME 2 are killers? they don't have any other job to do? thane, kolyat, feron (sort of, but he had still job to do kill someone as agent). curious.

Kolyat was simply doing as his father did--he isn't really a killer himself. His "killer" status is direct relation to his father. Besides that, Feron was the only unrelated drell I've seen. Drell are rare as it is--we only meet Kolyat because of Thane, so I'd say we've only ever seen drell in different scenarios twice.

As long as Feron doesn't make a move on Liara himself, I'm sure nothing will get between her and Shep but I don't really care because I go with Tali.

I have not got LOTSB yet and I just want to ask something before I buy it.

Is Feron a threat to my FemShep's/Liara's ralationship? Or are Liara and Feron just friends?

It's kind of been bothering me for a while and I want to put my mind at ease.
A simple Yes/No answer will do or whatever else you want to add. I just wan't somehing to stop the feeling of dread that is bothering me for days!>.<

From what we know in ME1 about Liara, she don't want to choose her partener casualy because the melding is more than just sexual relation.
So i trust Liara didn't change that much about" that".
Anyway if Liara is your LI, you can dereclty ask her about her and Feron, and it's clear that he is just a friend and nothing more, from her side and Feron side too.

This did very much bug me. I understood and liked Liara's shift in her obsessive hunt for the Shadow Broker, but Nassana's made no sense to me whatsoever. Nassana was cold and calculating, not a paranoid psychotic. Liara, however, only shifted her obsession with the Prothean extinction cycle (mystery solved via Shepard/Sovereign) to chasing somebody who had wronged her and two of her close friends.

I don't think so. I played through not romance Liara, and there was even an option to ask Liara if she's interested in Feron, and she said she refuses to do so because, in her opinion, it would be taking advantage of Feron while he's in a vulnerable state.

If this really happened, I wouldn't care. But the thing is, I wouldn't want them to hook up because I know that for my favorite LIs, I'd hate it if they ended up with someone else just because I didn't bat my eyelashes at them. I lucked out by there not being any viable love interests for my favorite romances, but if there were, I'd just hate them (I know some of Tali fans dislike Kal'Reegar, and some Kaidan fans dislike Lilith, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to punch Thane if he can't resist mentioning Irikah in at least one of our conversations).

Really? They dislike Lillith? Doesn't she turn into goo? You'd think they'd aim their fanrage at that doctor he mentions going out with in his email.

Some do. When I see it mentioned, they usually openly admit it's quite irrational, but, whatever, We Are Fan. Personally, I don't really like Kaidan, so, eh. If we ever met the doctor I'm sure fans would hate her guts, but she doesn't even have a name.

Also, do any Garrus fangirls dislike Dr. Michel, I wonder?

hmmm...a Doctor...makes me wonder, considering her...rather easy attitude...if it wasn't Miss Sanders herself!!!!!
