Damn, that sounds even more awesome!

I will try it for my next playthrough. I gotta have Jowan with me! It pains me to think how he was going to be a companion and they scrapped the idea.

Yeah, that was sad. My canon Warden was an evil blood mage who wanted to be BFFs with Jowan. I never knew he was meant to be a full companion until I used the console to get the Jowan's Intention quest - man, they should SO have fixed that bug.

Hey, I know that mod!

(Currently futzing with the Jowan dialogue in the toolset at this very moment!)

Yay! Looking forward to whatever fixes you make.

I just saw a screenshot of the party selection screen on the nexus... damn, it's crowded in there!

I'm not changing anything dramatic content-wise, but I'm adding a lot more in terms of complexity. Most of the exchanges have one option for responses right now. They'll all have at least three when I'm done (sometimes more with different options depending on mage/non-mage, gender, or race, and responses depending on if some quests are done, etc)

And I noticed the story he tells about being captured doesn't quite mesh with what he says in redcliffe and what you find out at the Landsmeet, so I'm fixing that. Since I'm a cannon stickler like that.

And the Aeonar quest?  Holy mother of god that was tough.  Especially with a two-mage party since there's A TON of templars.

Those sound like some good fixes. Thank you for taking the time to work on it.

And I'm glad I got a heads up on that Aeonar quest.

Oh man that sounds so exciting! That makes me sad too that they scrapped such a wonderful potential for a companion! Personally I think Cullen would make a really good companion just because I bet the full templar abilities are probably, in themselves, really awesome skills to have against enemies.

As for Jowan, having a second blood mage on the team as well as being her BFF would be amazing haha. I wonder, is there background party banter that goes on while having either or both (if that's possible) Cullen and Jowan in the group? Just a stray thought I suppose haha.

I don't think any banter was ever recorded for them. If there was, it could be restored, but I doubt it exists.

And I believe that you can have them both in the party at the same time. They work just like regular companions.

@Zjarcal: Well, I had no choice on the party makeup. You have to take Jowan since it's his quest, and I ran through the mod with a mage save. But yeah, the level 15 recommendation? At the VERY LEAST. I'm going to try again with a rogue later on, I think.

@tysandri : They don't have banter or party barks (those are the random lines set to fire in specific locations.)

But, none of the add-on companions are voiced, so it would be tough. You wouldn't hear the banter, only see the subtitles. I know she wants to get voice actors to do all the lines, but banter would mean getting actors to also do the lines of the existing companions, too.

It would be fun, though. I can imagine Alistair bonding with Cullen, and giving the stink eye to Jowan. I think Morrigan would be nice to Jowan and mean to Cullen on GP, too.

Well I mean that's totally understandable--that's how member-generated companions go, really. I believe they're doing a fantastic job already with how it's going. I commend anyone for taking such a task on. It means a lot to others. :)

Though that is such an amusing thought to imagine them if  they had been fully voiced and integrated party members. Ohhh I can just imagine the tension of having Jowan and Cullen in the same camp together haha! Poor boys. That and Alistair would probably have a fit over there being a blood mage in the camp, much less the PC mage's (if that's the origin) best friend. XD

I think Morrigan would get along pretty well with Jowan, though. Though the stink eye LOL I see that happening. xD

It would also be interesting to see the interaction between Cullen and Wynne. Since Wynne can still join the party even if the Circle is annulled (depending on how you go around that), it would be possible. I can see a lot of tension between them too, especially once Wynne's spirit is revealed. I can see Cullen going, "She's an abomination! We must kill her!".
I would be all too happy to comply...

As much as a detest Wynne.
There is no way that I want another Whiny Emotionally broken Templar in the party.

Well, I myself want Jowan in the party, not so much Cullen. But it's fun to ponder how their relationship would've been.

Well, Alistair is kind off essential, given the plot. But I'd like to see Cullen & Jowan as fully developed companions. (I'm so trying that Mod!) I am a romantic at heart and suffering men are totally up my alley.:P

As for Cullen: I still LÖL at the fact that his VO  actor is the same as Anders'.

Too bad that Alistair isn't really a Templar, huh? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/devil.png[/smilie]

If by interesting you mean someone sitting in a corner twanging his lips and going:
BbbbbBBbBbBBBBBbBbb!!!!!!

Than yes he would be more interesting.

Always kinda bothered me that my mage never got any "action".

Try as she might to insert herself between Jowan and Lily "That fat cow is your lover?", she never even got a whiff of interest from Jowan.

And talking to Duncan wasn't going to lead anywhere. "Yes, I'll escort you to your room. Is there anything else I can do for you . . . anything?" All he had on his mind was darkspawn.

And then the ultimate letdown was Cullen who admitted to feeling something for me but when push came to shove, he ran off into some dark corner to "relieve himself".

In some of the other origins, the PC gets some action - why not my poor sheltered mage?

Yup. Because unlike Alistair, he has REAL issues. Interesting issues. (I get the Duncan thing, but getting THAT attached to your Commander after six months? REALLY?)

No, I mean he represents the tragedy of the Templars.

Alistair on the otherhand, except for being a Therein (who doesn't like being that) and a warden (with very naive views that he can barely be called that), is not all that interesting. And if not made king or romanced, basically served little to no purpose in the story. That's how he was in my Canon playthrough anyways. The only defining thing he did there was get himself killed.

I had my own reasons for the execution. Anora's reasons were not determinant, but were still valid.
So it's less about me allowing it and more about me approving it.
