For consoles, there is NO online requirement.  You play from the discs.  We are including a code to give you Blood Dragon Armor on ME2, like we did whe Origins first came out - which you redeem here on social if you want - but it has no impact on your DA game.

Fernando, thank you SO MUCH for clarifying this.

Since I didn't get Awakenings or any of the DLCs, I now know this is a must-buy for me.

So the code for blood dragon armor is only for ME2. So that means it automatically in Dragon Age on the disc right?

Yay! I just started a new game with a new mage character. I am in the process of romancing Morrigan and cannot wait for the ultimate edition to play all the dlc. Especially witchhunt. ::)

I have DA for the PS3. With the UE coming out, I'm going to be delving into the PC realm and picking it up. Any recommendations from the PC community in regards to mods I should get for it? I have an account with dragonagenexus and I've seen a lot of really fantastic stuff there, but I'm interested in hearing from you all what you use. Thanks!

PS: Links to the mods would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure I get the gist of that mod, but how does it play for male characters?

Ultimate Edition is only a box packaging of everything we've released to date - there is no additional 'new' content or fixes done exclusively for it.  Thus any future patches will apply to all versions of Origins, incl UE.

The only online 'requirement' is on PC only, to register the DLC code here on social and then you need to login once in the game so the game knows your account has these registered.  After that you can play offline if you wish.  This is necessary so the DLCs get added correctly to your account, and ensure in the future should you ever need to re-install the DLCs you can grab them from your entitlements page here, as with any other DLC so far on PC.

For consoles, there is NO online requirement.  You play from the discs.  We are including a code to give you Blood Dragon Armor on ME2, like we did whe Origins first came out - which you redeem here on social if you want - but it has no impact on your DA game.

I was thinking about getting the UE for PC (Currently have the ps3 one). Does this mean I HAVE to be connected to the internet in order to play it on the PC even after you have the dlc downloaded and such? Or am I just missreading it?

Same here. I'm finishing the Deep Roads. Then I'll wait to recruit Shale before starting the endgame.

That is correct. The Blood Dragon Armor is already unlocked in the game. Now how do we get it, where do we buy it? I don't know.

Thanks.  I've been trying to find some clarification on that.  I read some sources that a code was for dragon age blood dragon armor and me2.  But again, thanks.

Do I (or will I) have the ability to play the regular original version of DA (with downloaded DLC) without being online?

Based on past experience, I live "in fear of" losing DLC items or messing up Shale when Internet irregularities occur (and not noticing until several saves later).

Is this still a potential problem with regular DA with DLC?  I have not had this problem in months, and (luckily?) finally just managed to complete Shale's quest without losing conversation capability with Shale.

I hope original version of DA can be played offline, as I really do not want to buy DA again as the Ultimate edition just to get the ability to play DA with DLC offline.

Yeah you do have the ability to play offline with all the DLC.  That's how I've been playing my last run through and I have all the DLC (and then some) accessible without any problems.  The only time you have to be "Online" is the very first time you access the DLC after you install it.  You have to sign into your account to authenticate the DLC, but after that first time, you can go back to offline mode without any problems at all.

Thanks Shiratori.

I have not had the lost DLC item issue since March or earlier.  I wonder if the 1.03 patch solved this?  In any case my arcane warrior is wearing the blood armor ... so it should be very obvious on the off chance this DLC quirk resurfaces for me.

The PC version of patch 1.04 has been released and is available for download at: http://social.biowar...page/da-patches

Xbox 360 and PS3 patches are currently in certification and we will announce a release date once they have passed.

I play on the 360, and do not have that patch.
So I have no idea if the fish face has been fixed. Its out for the PC. But PC people never had trouble with this anyways. They had a workaround.

You're seriously joking right? Patch 1.04 has been out for the consoles for almost 2 months now. If you play connected to Xbox live, you have it. You can read the patch notes for yourself and see if your issue has been fixed.

Hint: NO. And since the game ships with 1.04, it obviously won't be for this release.

Edit: Link - Seriously took about 15 seconds to find. It's the 11th thread down in the News and Announcements section.

I don't want to sound too stingy, I just really want the pre-order/promotional/CE content. It is pretty much all gone forever now that UE is out and that saddens me :(

Really?
I have to login everytime. If not, than I get a message that I have Premium Content and I need to log in. If I don't the DLC can NOT be played and the Items from it are gone as long as I am not logged in.... Is there a way to have this shut off once I have registered the DLC? And if yes, how?
That would be a real treat as just last week-end my carrier decided to have "an issue" with the switchbox and no Internet whatsover.
Cheers

Not sure why. Like Victor said, when you get a new piece of DLC, you have to sign into your account through the game to get it authenticated, but you only need to do that once. After that, you should be able to start the game in Offline Mode and still have full access to everything (which is how I've been playing my current playthrough.) If you're still having issues past that, you may want to try posting a message on the tech support forums. Barring that, the standard of "uninstalling/reinstalling" could work too, but I'd try that only as a last resort.

Why are some of the game sites I go to say that this is being released today? Achievement Hunter even said it was being released today.

GameStop says that Pre-Order Shipping is today, but I've called two of their stores in my area, and they say it will be in tomorrow. Both BestBuy and BioWare list the release date as the 26th.

By the way, I've bought Dragon Age and Awakenings but not the DLC, so I traded them in for the Ultimate Edition. I don't have XBOX Live and stuff, so if I find out that I still need XBOX Live to access the DLC, I'm going to be very angry. It's bad enough that I don't have access to pre-order items.

Why can't I find this game anywhere in Canada? I checked on Amazon.ca, gamestop.ca, etc. Nothing. And I went to ebgames today and they have no idea if and when they'll get it.

Is this being released in Canada? I know you said North America but most like to pretend that North America is just populated by the U.S.
