Sorry if this has been asked before, but is Witch Hunt included in the UE?

Yes.

(Quote from Victor Wachter)
"The DLC will be on the disc. I know that Feast Day gifts/pranks are a part of the Ultimate Edition, and will find out whether the Blood Dragon armor and any other items are included."

Contents:
Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition
~ DRAGON AGE™: ORIGINS
~ DRAGON AGE™: ORIGINS – AWAKENING
~ ALL NINE CONTENT PACKS
The Stone Prisoner
Warden's Keep
Return to Ostagar
The DLC Which Must Not Be Named
Leliana's Song
The Golems of Amgarrak
Witch Hunt
Feastday Gifts
Feastday Pranks

Yeah, I'd be interested if it included some of the promo items (Dalish Promise Ring, etc) that I'm still missing.

EDIT:  Nevermind, EA just unlocked that one for me.  hehe

I have to login everytime. If not, than I get a message that I have Premium Content and I need to log in. If I don't the DLC can NOT be played and the Items from it are gone as long as I am not logged in.... Is there a way to have this shut off once I have registered the DLC? And if yes, how?
That would be a real treat as just last week-end my carrier decided to have "an issue" with the switchbox and no Internet whatsover.
Cheers

I have the same experience as Shiatori.  I installed DA:O and DA:A (PC version) from the retail discs, and all the DLC through the in-game process, but once "authorized" once for each of them, I do NOT have to be connected to the internet to play.

I just tested this by turning off my DSL modem and starting the game.  No problems at all.
All DLC correctly reported as "Installled Content", and Shale by my side at the Dead Trenches when I loaded my save. :wizard:

I'm thinking this is a stupid question, but this will work with previous saves, right?

Why are some of the game sites I go to say that this is being released today? Achievement Hunter even said it was being released today.

I pre-ordered online from Gamestop and according to my receipt, it's shipping out today as well? I'm hoping this isn't a mistake because I am overly excited now.

Where else is mentioning it released today?

Well, presuming that there's some DLC you don't already have then I belive you can just install it from the discs.  And even if it takes a full re-install for some bizzare reason, you select  "Keep Character and Saves" during the uninstall and you're good-to-go.

gamefaqs.com had it listed as releasing yesterday as well, but when I checked after going to the store it was gone so maybe there was some confusion about shipping dates?  Meaning that EA was shipping the game out to retailers on yesterday and the release date is the 26th.  Just a guess though.

Is this being released in Canada? I know you said North America but most like to pretend that North America is just populated by the U.S.

UE is going to be released in North America, yes, but is UE going to be released in Canada?

Well, this was an expensive lesson to learn--last time I pre-order a game at release and buy the DLC as it comes out.

Gaming companies are going to have to start giving some pretty hefty rewards for early adopters, considering a year after release, people can now buy all of the Dragon Age 1 content for the price of the original game.

For those of us wondering about Canada i emailed EA about it and got this

"EA now officially announced that the "Ultimate Edition" of Dragon Age: Origins on October 26 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. It is the worldwide release date and we cannot say that it will release separately for the different region". I guess thats a yes to Canada?

The only online 'requirement' is on PC only, to register the DLC code here on social and then you need to login once in the game so the game knows your account has these registered.  After that you can play offline if you wish.

Do I (or will I) have the ability to play the regular original version of DA (with downloaded DLC) without being online?

Based on past experience, I live "in fear of" losing DLC items or messing up Shale when Internet irregularities occur (and not noticing until several saves later).

Is this still a potential problem with regular DA with DLC?  I have not had this problem in months, and (luckily?) finally just managed to complete Shale's quest without losing conversation capability with Shale.

I hope original version of DA can be played offline, as I really do not want to buy DA again as the Ultimate edition just to get the ability to play DA with DLC offline.

Yeah you do have the ability to play offline with all the DLC.  That's how I've been playing my last run through and I have all the DLC (and then some) accessible without any problems.  The only time you have to be "Online" is the very first time you access the DLC after you install it.  You have to sign into your account to authenticate the DLC, but after that first time, you can go back to offline mode without any problems at all.

I just disconnected from my wireless network and tried DAO, and I have no problems as I can talk to Shale and I am still wearing blood armor.

Thanks again Shiratori

Ultimate Edition comes with Patch 1.04

Ultimate Edition is on sale here in North America on October 26.

More answers as we get them.

As a US citizen, I believe that the USA is North America.  However, I heard a rumor that Canada is part of North America.

If this is true, then the Ultimate Edition is scheduled for release on October 26th.  Image IPB

Yeah i know Canada is part of North America but its been more then once where i have been left out in the rain because they excluded Canada from the North American releases. Makes me angery because us here up in Canada are actually in the North.

Can't say for certain what nationality Mr. (E.) C. Priestly claims, but BioWare is headquartered in Edmonton, and I presume that they do know on what continent Canada is located. Image IPB

Can someone from the team answer this. I have been to my gamestop in Edmonton city centre, and they have the XBOX 360 version avail for pre-order, but not the PC. WHY??? I know people are trying to get good games out on consoles, and wow, I never thought I would say this being an ex-console player, but what about PC gamer equaility folks LOL.

EDIT: Maybe Chris or one of the lovely staff at Bioware Edmonton may come down and bring it to me at work lol. Considering if it gets dropped shipped and I don't get one, there shall be hell to pay and puppies to cook. LOL

This exactly.

Canada is part of North America, yet we dont get some "North America" releases that are availablein the USA and NOT in Canada. So a "North America" release does not seem to automatically include Canada.

The EBgames, Futureshop, Walmart, and Best Buy Canadian websites all DO NOT have it listed, which is what has me worried. But the above poster claims you can pre-order the 360 UE in Edmonton, so perhaps that could be confirmation?

Really, I guess Im just going to wait until after the 26th and go down to EB and see if they have it, or if they are going to get it all.

I have checked two ebgames in Toronto, "Eaton Centre" and "Dufferin Mall", the staff there donot have a single clue.
I also checked two bestbuys, being Eaton Centre and the one in Downsview, they do not know, either.
Maybe we should give them a little more time to get the shipping infomation?
so just where is the truth...

I simply find it bewildering that the Ultimate Edition might not be released immediately in Canada despite its location on a certain unnamed continent. I wonder what sort of odd business decision would cause it not to be promptly released in Canada?
