I simply find it bewildering that the Ultimate Edition might not be released immediately in Canada despite its location on a certain unnamed continent. I wonder what sort of odd business decision would cause it not to be promptly released in Canada?

Thats the possibility we are speculating about.

The Fable 2 Ultimate Edition and as far as i know Star Wars Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition (for consoles) were not released in Canada. But Fallout 3 GOTY and Borderlands GOTY(which i may get) were... So for these extra editions its really a mixed bag for Canada, some we get and some we dont.

Can someone from the team answer this. I have been to my gamestop in Edmonton city centre, and they have the XBOX 360 version avail for pre-order, but not the PC. WHY??? I know people are trying to get good games out on consoles, and wow, I never thought I would say this being an ex-console player, but what about PC gamer equaility folks LOL.

EDIT: Maybe Chris or one of the lovely staff at Bioware Edmonton may come down and bring it to me at work lol. Considering if it gets dropped shipped and I don't get one, there shall be hell to pay and puppies to cook. LOL

are you sure the gamestop staff do not mess it up with other similar games?
or we can safely assume that there is a Canadian version?

I was thinking about getting the UE for PC (Currently have the ps3 one). Does this mean I HAVE to be connected to the internet in order to play it on the PC even after you have the dlc downloaded and such? Or am I just missreading it?

Ultimate Edition is only a box packaging of everything we've released to
date - there is no additional 'new' content or fixes done exclusively
for it.  Thus any future patches will apply to all versions of Origins,
incl UE.

The only online 'requirement' is on PC only, to register the DLC code
here on social and then you need to login once in the game so the game
knows your account has these registered.  After that you can play
offline
if you wish.  This is necessary so the DLCs get added correctly
to your account, and ensure in the future should you ever need to
re-install the DLCs you can grab them from your entitlements page here,
as with any other DLC so far on PC.

For consoles, there is NO online requirement.  You play from the discs.
We are including a code to give you Blood Dragon Armor on ME2, like we
did whe Origins first came out - which you redeem here on social if you
want - but it has no impact on your DA game.

:innocent:

Previous saves work fine - Ultimate Edition IS the same game, just with all the other additional content.  Neither it, nor your save games will know the difference.

We will be releasing PC digitaly with a variety of partners, including steam.

Retailers in each territory (yes, including in our own backyard, deep in the nether regions of the north american continent) decide what titles they take when to push game info to their stores - we'll have the Ultimate Edition up here in Canada, but there's no way for us to know which stores or when they'll get their internal updates from their head office.  Our suggestion has always been to keep harrassing your local shop (politely, of course)

Street date is still set for the 26th here in north america - where retail releases happen on tuesdays.  Europe is usually thursday or friday, depending on the country.

First of all, sorry for my english, it's not my native language.

I already have Dragon Age: Digital Deluxe Edition. If I buy the digital version of Dragon Age: Ultimate Editions, will I be able to install awakening and DLCs with my Digital Deluxe edition? I mean, will I have in the same account the collectors items and Awakening/DLCs? Or all the Ultimate Edition is installed as an unique pack and I will have my digital Deluxe Edition and my Ultimate edition "separately"?

Can you explain how the discs work on 360 version? I know you install it on PC and such and play it from the main game in PS3 but 360 is different. Please don't let us install to hard drive because I don't have a hard drive.

Apologies if this seems like beating a dead horse with a stick, but I needed to hear this for myself.

By any chance does that mean that you can play your DA:O data on DA:O UE? I don't have anything after Awakening and would like to see if I could use the data I saved from the "original" Origins and add on to it with the DLC in UE.

On disc. All of it. See Victor Wachter's 2nd post on page 1, (or any of the multiple references to it scattered elsewhere in the past dozen pages.)

Its a pity there won't be anything new done. I already own all of the DLC. Over and above new content, the one thing I would like to see is a patch that addresses all the currently known bugs... of which there are many, even after 1.04 (i.e., things like the missing Elven Boots, and being unable to complete Warden's Keep because neither NPC will seal the veil)

I agree with you. The thing most I would like is an update to the toolset that adds all the Awakening resources, particulary access to the un-compiled scripts.

Thank you - finally the official word and clarification I've been waiting for. I don't mind waiting if I know it will come, i have midterms till the 28th and I figure one of EB, Futureshop, or Walmart should have it by then.

will the dlc have separated redeem codes, or just 1 code that unlock everything? asking this 'couse I already have all but the 2 last ones, and it would be better if we could choose which ones we want to register and not lost the other ones

For PC only, you redeem 1 code that will unlock everything for your account.  As someone else mentioned, once that happens you can then play offline -there's no online requirement past the initial authorization.  This also ensures you can always get to your DLC from social should you need to in the future, as it is enabled on your account.

Just checking up if I understand this correctly since I own the Collectors Edition (CE) for PS3 at the moment:

- The Ultimate Edition (UE) ships on 1 BluRay where all the content is included (all DLCs and the Expansion)
- This means there won't be any codes to download the expansion and the extra content
- The extra items I already have installed from the CE and promotional activities will still be on the PS3 with the UE.

Cheers

Stefan

I know this might not be that important but i was wondering if the ultimate edition will come with the game manuals before i sell my other copies?
b/c i would like to have them. I heard that games were suppose to stop making game manuals to help save on paper but I like having them but not sure when its suppose to start happening.

I heard that was just Ubisoft, or is EA doing it too? And by save "paper", you do know they mean save money on printing and materials but charge you the same price for the product - less product for the same price.

they say it is the same price because the cover is made of more efficiently recyclable paper.
but i highly doubt it -- it is just one "upgraded" paper versus many pieces of paper manuals and they are the same price???
whats more, the most efficient way of perserving the environment would be making all games download ONLY, so why do not they do that..that would mean the end of the video game history.

This has probably been answered somewhere else, but I'll ask here... seems like the right place.

Will this be available on Mac separately? Or is the PC one just the exact same thing, like the FAQ said?

Will there be any DLC only disc sold at some point? I'd pay for some of the DLC, but I'm waiting to see if the price goes down. The problem is that if Dragon Age II comes out before such a discount occurs, then I will likely never get it. Even half price the day the Ultimate Edition comes out would be satisfactory. I could purchase the Ultimate Edition after selling Origins and Awakening, but I dislike Gamestop so I'll avoid that. I'm willing to spend more, just not $60 more on this game.

Hello,

I have not read the full topic, so sorry... but, shall this Ultimate version be released in Europe?
Because no more news about it, impossible to order it from my supplier ...

I've got the Collector Edition, in English but fortunately, multilanguages! So, this English Ultimate version will be multilanguages again ?

Thanks.
