Sorry, been a while since I came on here. I see no one has responded to me, so maybe I thought my question was too complex. Can you play Origins data from the original game onto the Ultimate Edition? You know, in case after release some patches might be involved?

Yes.  (Presuming that you're asking about the PC version.  I don't know about the PS3 or XBox "saves" and how they work.)

Select: "Save Games and Characters" when you uninstall the version you're currently using (if you choose to do so.  Which I can't for the life of me understand why you would.)

You do realize that all they're doing is putting all the materials you've already installed on your system, along with what's been released but you haven't yet obtained, into one easy-to-distribute package, right?  There's nothing "different" about even one single piece of the game itself.  There are some (well, a couple) new "bonus" items, which will install just like the ones already associated with any other DLC.

This is NOT a new "version", it's a new, all-in-one-box, COLLECTION of the elements that are Dragon Age  to-date.

DOH! Yea I am a PS3 fan. So I suppose at the moment my question remains unanswered in that field. But thanks all the same. And yes I am entirely aware it is just the amalgamation of all the original game, the expansion, DLCs, and patches into a gigantic medium. The reason why I ask is because I would really like to not have to finish another playthrough if possible just to play the UE. I COULD pay for the rest of the DLC and save money instead of going straight up for the UE.... But... Bear with me now... What if a patch comes out that solves the remaining Awakening bugs (Sentinel and Vigilance visuals) as well as other major issues and are restricted to the UE only?

If that is true in the future, by any chance, then I would have wasted money instead by purchasing the extra DLC before the UE. This is my reasoning behind my question, just so you know :)

Yaaaay!! Good for PC!!

...But wait... What about PS3 and Xbox360? I know those who play the Xbox are pissed with the progress of the overall game, given Witch Hunt. =]

From what I understand, the answer will be yes. It will be just like playing the disc that you already have just with the extras added. I have  the Ps3 version also and from what I have gathered from reading this board you will not have to re-start your character from from scratch( unless you choose to make a new one). You can continue with your previous warden. :D

Will try to catch up on the questions since.. apologies if I missed any:

Can you explain how the discs work on 360 version? I know you install it on PC and such and play it from the main game in PS3 but 360 is different. Please don't let us install to hard drive because I don't have a hard drive.

In all 3 platforms, everything is installed to the hard drive (except for DAO on X360 - which you could play direct from the disc - but Awakening & the DLCs are all installed).

Yes.

Just checking up if I understand this correctly since I own the Collectors Edition (CE) for PS3 at the moment:

- The Ultimate Edition (UE) ships on 1 BluRay where all the content is included (all DLCs and the Expansion)
- This means there won't be any codes to download the expansion and the extra content
- The extra items I already have installed from the CE and promotional activities will still be on the PS3 with the UE.

Yes to all 3.

Will Witch Hunt Patch 1.1 be on the second disc of DLC (all platforms)?

I need to confirm, but I believe it did make it to all platforms in time.  Worst case, you would need to connect the console once to get latest update.

So is there any chance that the steam version will be for mac and not just for pc?

If I don't have to insert codes and stuff, plus keep my promo stuff.... then I might consider it a purchase, just in case something happens to the server from where we have to download the dlc from ( If I ever need to redownload it...) but I must say, am not so sure about my purchase of Dragon Age 2 or the possible dlc's that will appear after the release.... (Especially considering I have to buy the game in england if I want to have the SE...)

I pretty sure I'm asking in vain, but hey, might as well give it a go. I bought the CE for 360, and now that the UE is coming out, I thought it would be the perfect game to coincide with my new computer purchase. Is there any consideration to maybe being able to port my CE items from 360 to PC? They are linked to my account and all...

Thanks for your time!

Probably not, AZN.

I have the CE PC version and the regular 360 version. Even though both games are linked to the same Bioware account, I can only access the CE items on PC.

I suspect this is by design because it also appears that way under my Profile | Your registered game promotions...

Sorry for the bad news.

Yeah, I realize that it is currently not possible to port these items. I was hoping a feature like that could potentially pop up since Bioware knows that many people who already bought the game will buy it again. Of course, it probably isn't possible at all, and I can respect that. =/

Mac is handled by another developer so in this case no, sorry.  I am also just trying to confirm if they are indeed doing a UE - stay tuned.

We did have a couple rare items - Blood Dragon Armor and the DA flash game reward items - that we were able to get exceptions to do this for.  But in general this crosses over what we're allowed to do on consoles from MS and Sony's perspective, so none of the other DLC for example.

If you check your registered game promotions page here on social you'll see some items (those above) appear as one item per platform.  As long as your gamertag/PSN Name is attached correctly (check top of that page) then when you connect to the DA servers on that platform the item will appear.

I am Spanish and I do not find in any store Spanish where it can make my
reservation for the Ultimate Edition does this mean that Spain will not
this version? If so, can we rely on imports? I say this because DA does not bring Origins uk version Spanish between their languages.

Please answer this, as I'm concerned.

I also want to enjoy the Ultimate Edition on my PS3

I'm on PS3, and my awesome girlfriend will be getting me both the UE, plus preordering DA II for me for christmas (this may actually top the PSP she got for me for my birthday :o).

Anyway, I have a question about the UE. Currently I have just the base game with The Stone Prisoner and Blood Dragon Armor DLC. My question is, when you insert the UE disc, can you pick and choose which DLC to install from the disc or does it install everything at once automatically, replacing my current game install data from the original DAO? Reason I ask is because I am really close to the platinum trophy on DAO, and I'd really prefer not to have to also deal with all the DLC trophies at least until after I get the platinum, and I heard that the trophies from any DLC you have also count toward the platinum (personally I don't think DLC trophies should count toward the platinum, should be separate, but whatever).

So if I get the UE, can I choose to install the DLC at my leisure when I want or will it automatically install everything at once?

Thank you.
