Hey all,

so I've been looking around but the ultimate edition is nowhere on sale in belgium or the netherlands....
Or is there a shop that does? (and retail now a webshop)

Thanks :/

I don't know if this has been asked before but here goes, I already own the collectors edition of Dragon Age: Origins (for the PC) as well as the expansion Awakenings, I just recently purchased the Ultimate Edition because I wanted to get my hands on the DLC that I missed out on (all of it in fact) my questions are:

1.) will registering my Ultimate Edition with my profile now conflict (in any way) with my already registered versions of the CE and Awakenings?

2.) will I have to download all the DLC? because I got a one time use code that has an expiry date.

I brought the Ultimate Edition because I want the "whole" game and I do not really make online purchases so the DLC part of it is crucial for me, does the code included mean that if I uninstall the game from my PC and reinstall it say a year from now, I will no longer have access to the DLC content?

1)  No. You can have many, many "authorized" versions.

2)  No. There is NO download of DLC involved with the UE.  (Except if you would have had the UK version of the PS3 version, where the manufacturer of the discs screwed-up and left off RtO.)  You do have to connect on-line briefly ONCE to get the content you installed from disc "authorized".

3)  (Seperate question.)  As long as the BioWare/EA servers still exist somewhere to "authorize" the content that you have on your system, you can install/uninstall/reinstall as many times as you want.  Once a particular piece of software is associated with your EA account as "authorized", it remains so.  (They haven't answered the "What if there are NO authorization servers any more?" question...)

A question you didn't ask is:  Can multiple different versions of the game exist and be playable on my system at the same time?  Short answer is, "Yes, it's possible."  Longer answer is, "To do so, you  would  have to mange the install directories and profile folders used by each version manually, and very, VERY carefully."

thanks! that clears up a few questions. so registering my Ultimate Edition on my profile now would cause no unforeseeable problem (if any) .. also I was wondering about your 3rd question too, I enjoy replaying a lot of the games that I've purchased through the years (on different PC machines too) and while it is unlikely (I hope) that Bio would go out of business.. "losing" those authentication servers would really @#!@ if it meant I would lose access to the DLC part of the Ultimate Edition.

I miss the good all days when all a paying customer had to do was pay for the expansion disks (I'm not a fan of digital distribution~personal preference) and you can replay the whole game again and again to your hearts content.

Fernando, do you have any new information on a potential release of a complete /fixed edition of the PAL PS3 version (thus including Return to Ostagar on disc)?

You have to log-on to your EA account in-game once after installing the UE, and wait for the EA servers to recognize and "authorize" your installed DLC.  Depending on your connection speed, it might take a few minutes.

I had to get their support to fix mine. None of the DLC was showing up and the EA people were saying that it wasn't included until I sent them the link for the ad. After that, they approved and enabled all of the downloaded content for me.

Here's the link to the support page (your issue is listed as one of the "Hot Topics"): help.dragonage.com/app/home. Image IPB

From there, you can eventually get to an EA Support Tech in a live-chat session (I've done it!  Image IPB )

See also this post with instructions from Fernando Melo (BioWare dev) about this problem:

I received the Xbox 360 Ultimate Edition today for Christmas and upon inserting the "Game Disc", it will say "Reading" for about 3-4 seconds and then immediately cut right to "Open Tray".  I've searched Google for this issue and noticed quite a handful of people were having the same problem, and someone had said to try and clear the hard drives cache and install it.

That obviously wouldn't work in my situation as the 360 won't even read the game disc.  It read the 2nd bonus disc just fine and I was able to download/install all of the content including Awakening, however that doesn't matter as I need to game disc to actually play.

I know for certain that there is no issue with my console regarding hardware, or even the DVD drive as no other game that I own has an issue.  The console itself is a 2009 manufactured Arcade model with the Jasper chipset  and a 120gb hard drive if anyone wondered.

I'm tempted to just opt for a return to Amazon and ask for a replacement, but I figured I would ask here to see if anyone knows of a resolution in the mean time as I am sure the replacement would take about a week or two considering the holiday's.

Thanks in advance.

For 7.5 more hours, the Ultimate Edition is half price on Steam today. So is standalone Origins and standalone Awakening.

The patches will be up to date right? It would be terrible if we had to patch it when we get it.

i dont think the paches are up to date as far as you could posibly get newer ones but i didnt have to get any more so i think it at leset had the updates thea i had :) oh and to CrypticZer0 try starting another gam then swop disks wile anuther game is running make shore its not saving mined or it will become corupted but.. that should increase the time it spends trying to reay the dis so i therefor icreasing the probability of it actualy working lol gust a thought anyway.

Presuming you're referring to the PC version, yes the UE  comes with (and forces the installation of) game patch ver. 1.04,
(the last one published.) Image IPB

[Edit: All DA  patches are comprehensive, meaning they incliude all earlier code.  Only need the latest to be "current".)

Same problem, pretty much. Along with the fact that the DLC Disc absolutely wouldn't install Awakening before bugging up and never reading again. First Disc played with no problems, along with every other game I had in reach at the time, up to about 6-7. Thanks, Bioware, for failing to Q&A your products, yet again.

I returned my european pal ultimate edition to the store again, cause it didn't have the return to ostagar dlc..

Will there ever be a correct version, with ALL the dlc's for the PS3 pal version ?

Or should I import an american UE ? If so, will the american game disc allow me to use my game saves from the pal edition ?

I noticed some ppl having problems with this with Gran Turismo 5 on PS3
