7evendays - I am also waiting for the Mac release. Hopefully if they still plan on releasing it for mac, it's sooner than later because DAO 2 is just around the corner...

I returned my european pal ultimate edition to the store again, cause it didn't have the return to ostagar dlc..

Will there ever be a correct version, with ALL the dlc's for the PS3 pal version ?

Or should I import an american UE ? If so, will the american game disc allow me to use my game saves from the pal edition ?
I noticed some ppl having problems with this with Gran Turismo 5 on PS3

It is highly unlikely they will release a corrected version. And I am not sure about using game saves from a different region on the US region game. My guess is it should work. I've never tried it however.

See the thread DEDICATED to this topic under the "PS3 Technical Support" forum. There will NOT be a "corrected" disc. There IS a process in-place to get the affected players the missing RtO DLC.

BioWare outsources the port of its games onto the Mac platform to a firm named TransGaming.  TransGaming determines if/when they'll accept the project, and they set the release schedule. Based on the lag for any of the other DA modules, I think it's highly unlikely that a Mac version will come out before DA2 in March 2011.

What platform (PC, PS3, XBox)?
There are threads on this exact problem in each of the "Technical Support" forums.

If on the PC, Is it a "Steam" install?
There is a seperate thread under the PC Tech forum just for problems with "Steam", (which I would never use for something as complicated as DA, but that's another thread in itself!)

Yo! I've got my copy of the DA: UE. It's my first original game though and I'm excited to play it. But I have few questions to ask. I just want to know, if I install the game in my PC, and I need to type in the CD key, right? IF I want to install it in another PC, does the CD key still able to use again? If so, how many times? The CD key is the one back on the instruction manual, right?

The Ultimate Edition DLC code only can be use once? Thanks.

I recently completed my first playthrough of DA:O and realized shortly after I really have to have the DLC. I have read countless pages of comments and posts but before I go and purchase the UE and sell my current copy I wanted to make certain of a few things.

I am going to buy the 360 version and as I understand it, absolutely no need to have XBL correct? I don't insert a disk and it tell me that all I have to do is download the content from online?

Also are there any absurd bugs in the game that prevent me from playing the DLCs? I've heard there are problems with some armor, which sucks, but all I care about is what transfers. So I just wanted to insure that there is no need to download a patch or anything to repair some bugs. Like I heard the end of witch hunt didn't have a save file that allows it to transfer. Is the game solid on not having bugs that will prevent being able to actually play them, and transfer where DA2 permits?

Thanks.

You absolutely have to connect ONE TIME to "authorize" your content.  (I don't play on the XBox, so I can't say if this requires an "XBL account".)

All the content (DLC, patches released so far, etc.) are on disc.  No download for any of that.  But also no updates from the previous release, so any bugs or known issues that existed before the UE are still there.

Does give you enough information to tell you what you wanted to know?

Sorry for the second post, simple question. Can I use back the CD key twice? One is my PC and other is in another PC.

I'm PS3 only (I HATE Microsoft and EVERYTHING to do with them) but...if it is anything like the PS3 version, then no it will not require you to have Xbox Live or even be connected to the internet at all to play. I installed my PS3 version and played with my PS3's internet connection disabled intentionally to make certain of this and because I wanted to use a fun little glitch in Lothering. :P So no it shouldn't. Unless Microsoft put one more stupid restriction on there. They seem to love doing that.

As far as I know, console versions DO NOT require authorization AT ALL, unlike PC. At least PS3 version does not.

;)I see, thanks. Now I can install and play it until I buy myself another PC with better specs. Just that I'm so worry that it only could be use once. But come to think of it, I don't think they would screw you up for buying a new game just for a new registration. Still I support BioWare for making great RPG games!

So you are saying that in order to play I have no choice but to be able to get on one time? Is there any chance that I could just connect my X-Box to the internet without the need for X-Box Live and just get the verification that I need? Also how long does that verifcation take?

Thanks.

It only takes a minute to authorize your content (depending on connection speed, of course.)  Don't know whether the basic campaigns (DA:O and DA:A) will work on the XBox without ever connecting: I know that they will on the PC.

But I also know that NONE of the DLC will.  Since you're looking at the UE, that means: TSP, RtO, WK, LS, GoA, and WH.  (Oh, and also the "FeastDay" junk, and "The DLC Which Must Not Be Named ".)  That's a lot  of the content you paid for!

Whether or not you need an "XBL account" is a whole different question.  Can you get game updates on your XBox without one?  Someone who plays on the XBox need to let you know...

Well I could get Awakening by itself if I just wanted that but I don't want anything to be left to defaulf that wasn't my decision for DA2 so I need the smaller DLC, such as witch hunt, just as much as Awakening. The reason I ask is because I could potentially get the connection at someone elses house if it wouldn't take to long. I would however prefer not to have to purchase X-Box live for just 5 minutes worth of being online that I won't even use after i'm finished.

Thanks a lot for the info though, very helpful.

You do not have to connect to Xbox Live, she only knows about PC, which is far different from consoles.

I can install and play my PS3 version (ALL content) with my PS3's internet connection entirely disabled. I'm sure the same can be done on Xbox too, unless Microsoft added on one of their stupid restrictions again.

@Super_Shepard;

If you filter this thread for "BioWare Staff Posts" only, you can quickly find this from Fernando Melo, posted about three months ago:

Fernando Melo wrote...

Ultimate Edition is only a box packaging of everything we've released to date - there is no additional 'new' content or fixes done exclusively for it. Thus any future patches will apply to all versions of Origins, incl UE.

The only online 'requirement' is on PC only, to register the DLC code here on social and then you need to login once in the game so the game knows your account has these registered. After that you can play offline if you wish. This is necessary so the DLCs get added correctly to your account, and ensure in the future should you ever need to re-install the DLCs you can grab them from your entitlements page here, as with any other DLC so far on PC.

For consoles, there is NO online requirement. You play from the discs. We are including a code to give you Blood Dragon Armor on ME2, like we did whe Origins first came out - which you redeem here on social if you want - but it has no impact on your DA game.

Well that certainly is good news, I am very glad that I won't be required to go through all of that trouble, but as far as the patches go I assume the would repair any bugs that are in any versions. So are the bugs like not being able to save after you complete certain DLCs (like the bug about no save after witch hunt) still on the ultimate edition? Or did Bioware repair the bugs that will make it impossible to transfer content completed in the DLC's before they released the UE?

According to the info in WH forum, the UE shipped with the WH update (v1.1).  But there are several other known bugs, mostly regarding items that don't transfer from one DLC to another.

Nothing was new or fixed especially for the UE.  Whatever was already released, that's what got packaged.

looks like no one has answered the xbox question correctly, unless things have changed xbox users have to connect to the internet to download the patch for witch hunt not for autherisation(I don't have an xbox so don't know if you need xbl gold or if silver will do).

fernando said that the console versions don't have the witch hunt patch, I have a ps3 but have the ue for the pc so I can't confirm/deny that. I seem to recall him mentioning just the xbox version but reading his posts again it mentions console versions which would imply the ps3 as well.

edit: I tried linking to the post but it didn't work.

Fowler002 is correct...  Here's the post he couldn't link (I added the emphasis):

For PC it is 1.1 of WH.  For consoles the fix was after the disc cutoff so you'll need to connect once online to grab the latest patch/title update to get the fix.

Both - there is essentially only 1 PC version (as above).

Thandal pretty much covered the rest.

Fowler, read before you post. You have it wrong. Thandal posted a quote from Fernando stating SPECIFICALLY there is NO online requirement AT ALL for consoles. That is ONLY on PC period. And I have the PS3 version and I can confirm that there is NO online requirement on that version AT ALL.

Stop posting incorrect information of which you know nothing of and READ before you post, please.

This has probably been answered, but there's a lot of sift through. Apparently, there is a pop-up when you originally download the game telling you your DLC code, however I received no such pop-up. I also heard that you may receive it through an e-mail, but I'm assuming that's only for those who buy it over the net. If it's not only for those that buy it over the internet, then I'm at a loss. My e-mail account has probably been hacked seeing as I can not log onto it or change the password. If I were to send in a slip to Bioware, would they be able to give me the DLC code? Also, I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Anybody have some advice?
