Just an update. I got it working I think! It's all in the "Installed content" tab under the dlc section, and all enabled :D

What did it for me was doing:
--------
....3.2.2. Manually start the Dragon Age Updater Service if present

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER
2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.
3.) Right click it and select START
4.) If nothing happens, run the game check the DLC content section again
5.) In case of an error or a timeout go to 3.2.4
-----
from the original post in the above. Thanks all who made the initial work with all this :)

I cannot find my DLCs, not in the files, not in the game, and my DAUpdater is missing from the service tab, if any1 could help me, i'd be very grateful.

I am running a windows vista 64bit system.

Do you mean the program "DAUpdater.exe", which isn't a Service, but is used to install ".dazip" files like the DLC?  It's in the folder: "/Program Files [(x86)]/Dragon Age/bin_ship".

Or do you mean the Windows service called "DAUpdaterSvc", which is used to validate your game's config and authorized DLC.? There a whole thread about getting it to work correctly if something got messed up, here: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/6093270.  And within that topic there's a link to another thread with lots of general technical troubleshooting, including more about some issues with "DAUpdaterSvc".

And for the UE, (unlike the other editions) all the official the DLC should be in the folder:
"/Program Files [(x86)]/Dragon Age/addins"

I apologize if this has already been asked and answered, but if I already have the original Dragon Age: Origins, and then purchase the Ultimate Edition later, could I give away the key for the main game (comes w/ the UE), and just register the DLC key to my current Bioware account to add all the DLC I don't have?

I purchased the Collectors Edition to DA:O, but recently had a compuer meltdown and lost all my game data. I reinstalled on a new computer, but when i went to download my dlc, there are just dashes after most of my DA:O content. It says i have them but it not allowing me to re-download them(such as the blood dragon armor and the Stone Prisoner/shale). Any help?

Is this UE  a more polished version of the game or is it just fan speculation/wishful thinking? Would be fantastic if they corrected the major flaws.

Yeah it would. On the plus side, my experience is that most of the stability crash bugs are done (except as per release notes) but there are still plenty of content/gameplay bugs.

The UE is just everything that was ALREADY published, collected together and packaged with an installation routine that puts all the DLC from the discs onto your system.

But BioWare already TOLD us this.  See their posts in the "UE Announcement" thread.  And check my game logos.  I have the UE in addition to the others.  (Did not have one of the DLCs, and got a great deal on it.)

I hope someone who has the Ultimate edition on xbox360 can answer this question for me. I am currently thinking about getting the Ultimate edition, but is worried about the dlc. Whenever you purchase a content on xbl, you can re-download again from download history, if you delete the content previously to free up HD space. But from what I heard, dlc for dragon age ultimate edition is on the disc, and does not require download, so if I delete the dlc contents, can I still download them from xbl? I am worried that one day, I might have a damaged disc, and didn't have the dlc on my harddrive, then I pretty much lost all the dlc contents.

If the disk is damaged and you deleted the saves you won't be able to recover them. If you stick with xbl you will be able to recover anything you delete.

I find it's easier having the disk so I can delete all my DA stuff but re-install whenever. Sorry to be confirming your fears.

Thanks for the info, this is a tough decision now, pay more money for dlc on xbl and keep it forever, or go for the cheap option get ultimate edition and risk losing dlc later on. Why can't choices be easy.

My friend lend me his copy of DA:O and I finally decided to play the game last week - I knew the game was going to make me obsessive and crazy so I've been putting it off. Thank GOD for the forum and the info on the ultimate pack! Just bought it online, so my friend can have his game back finally.

And for now, I'm dying to play all the DLC no matter how bad they may be (from reading the comments on awakening and Lilianna's song)......
yeah, I got it bad. I know. I will probably be a zombie for the next few weeks if not months, but it's all so worth it.

This is all thanks to the info, news and new arts passed around here! Just wanted to say thanks as a newbie!

a) Not at all clear what the issue is.
B) This is the wrong forum for whatever the issue might be.
c) Try the "Technical Support" forums. Here's the link to the PC one:  social.bioware.com/forum/1/category/58/index .

I fought (and beat) the Sloth Demon with no issues... how many times have you attempted it?

Sorry you're having problems, haraets.

It's unlikely to have anything to do with being the UE, though.  Crash-to-Desktop (CtD) issues have been occuring with DA (especially during that fight, in particular) ever since patch 1.03.  One set of issues seems to be related to the interaction of visual and audio effects, and Sloth sure does create a lot of them!

Two things helped me:

1)   The "FO3 Large Memory Area Flag Fix", which edits the header of "daorigins.exe" to enable the game to use more than 2GB of RAM.  This "delays" the impact of the known "memory leak" problem. Since I have 8GB, I can go quite a while before the effects of that are noticable.

2)  NOT using the pause key during the Sloth battle (hard, I know.)  Triggering effects that then must be suspended when Paused appears to make the problem worse.

You might also look through the PC Troubleshooting forums, and see if anything there makes sense for your situation.

Hope that helps! ;)

Is there a patch for that bloody "unauthorized content" bug yet? So far this is the only game in my entire life that has pissed me off to the point of out loud profanity before I'd even begun playing it.

I think the servers are not syncing the accounts. I was authorized yesterday, but not today. I have all the fixes, but to no avail. What I have found, though, is it may be possible to LOG OUT of the servers from the game main menu (bottom left) and then go to the DLC menu. All my items and DLC are still installed, of course, and no Unauthorized message. It's a band-aid if it works for you, until they update the servers or whatever.

Wide spread problem. I've tried logging out, rebooting, editing XMLs, no avail.
And I was really looking forward to calming down today with a little DAO before bed... crud.

Huh. Good to know it isn't just me... I guess. Still, very frustrating. I'm trying to finish DAO before I play DA2, but this is rather aggravating.

I just want to add that  while the DLC was authorized while logged off, as soon as you logged in, it became unauthorized again.  For me anyway.  Like you it's hit or miss with the authorization message.

They had better fix this very soon. I paid for this content and I had no idea they could just take it away like that!

Edit: Okay, I logged out and now it's all back, so it's fine now. Really weird bug though.

Aaarrrrrggghhh!! A pox on Bioware DA:O servers and their overlords. So much for decompressing.
