I think patch 1.04 fixed these DLC/Authorization bugs though, it's in the patch notes. But  the profile stats are not updating still.

:(

no, unfortunately, the patch 1.04 (already in the ultimate edition) does not solve the DLC / Authorization bugs if you're logged in. If you play offline, however, there are no problems.

Try to make a normal save, not a quick save, and wait for one, two hour for the profile update.

I remedy the UE authorization bug by quitting the game and restarting it then logging it again. True it only happens when you're logged in, when playing offline it doesn't. Another bug is that when you start playing offline then try to login later it says "EA servers not available", fixed again by quitting/restarting game. Bioware already acknowledged that UE versions have a bug where player id's (persona) don't properly save in the registry or certain versions corrupt the xml file, hence stats don't update or in my case don't show up at all. Achievements are saved on another server that has less traffic that's why they update.

i'm new to dragon age origins and have just brought the ultimate edition
i have read that after the last quest you cannot free roam and do side missions,
well due to me having the awakening thing when i go to play that am i still the same charicter with the same companions and have the abillty to free roam again or am i completly different please explain
what i can do after the end of origins
i

At the end of the main game you get an autosave
From this you can visit your camp and the locations for the stone prisoner, Warden's keep and return to Ostagar but that's it.
You can import your character into the sequel expansions (awakeneng, golems, wich hunt) but don't expect your companions to be still be with you- in each case you will be restricted to the locations for that expansion (awakening is confined to the North of Ferelden in an area not visited in the main game, golems is set in a single "dungeon", Witch hunt reuses old locations but you are restricted to the new quests only) None of these allow you to continue playing after the end credits.
You cannot import a character into Darkspawn Chronicles or Leliana's song

so what do you think is the better option
stop the main game before resurrecting the king and do all the side missions and go to locations etc
or play the whole game and when in awakening and stop before the final ,ission so i can explore places more
does awakening have more companions then the main game and more locations to explore
or is the main game got more companions and locations etc
and does awakening play a seperate game or once i finish the main game does it just continue or is it like red dead redemption were you have the main game then sepratly you can choose undead thing at the main menu
please explain thanks

...I am confused by much of what you are saying
"resurecting the king" is not part of this game
I recommend doing all the side-quests you can (and want to do) before the landsmeet.

awakening plays as a seperate game (with the option of transferring details from the main game or creating a new character).  It is set entirely in a seperate area with new locations with no option to visit previous locations.  There are new companions and 1 returning companion

oh ok thanks the king part is just what my friend told me about just before the landsmeet
see the town that landsmeet is in is a major city so i wanted to stop a little before the landsmeet so i can still travel to that city without the quest starting and thats when he said about the king thing but if you have a better stopping point just before landsmeet then that would be great to
thanks i should get da- ultimate edition this week

the landsmeet  does not start right away on arriving to the city.  You can visit it while doing the 4 recruitment quests (and is part of one of the quests).  And afterwards there are 2 story quests in the city before the landsmeet can start.  I believe you can still do quests elsewhere before the Landsmeet after those 2 quests (though my memory is far from perfect)

I'm new to everything here and I'm sorry if the answer is already posted but I just don't have that much knowlede on how to search this forum as it does seem different from most others that I have recently been trying out and I don't remember how I got to do it last time but if someone put down that search tip I can always come back here and look it up thanks.  My question is:

Dragon Age Ultimate Edition states extras are included but is it via a voucher or is it all included on the disk?  As well, is there any other type of voucher that should be in the disk I should be made aware of as EB Games has this thing with last copies where they just put the disk in the open case then sticker it and guarantee it's new.  I took a chance but not going to open it 'till I know all of the contents that should come in the game case.  Anything missing, of course I loose out for a full refund, but I will trade it in for some credit.  Thanks for the time and help everyone.

Has anyone solved the issue of DLC not authorising with your account?

I've had the game months but never got around to playing it until last night.
So far what i have read is that this has been happening from as far back as 2009.  According to the dates of the posts i've read with regards to this issue anyway.

I went through the live chat process as most people have done and here is the transcript from the first CS agent.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, my name is Christina. How may I help you?
2311909860: Dragon age Ultimate is stating that the DLC is unauthorised.
2311909860: I can not get it to change
2311909860: I've followed some advice on the forums but it's still the same
2311909860: all executable files have admin privileges and the DA updater is running in the background.
Christina: I sincerely regret any inconvenience caused due to this issue.
Christina: Please give me a moment as I look into this issue.
2311909860: ok. thank you
Christina: May I know from where did you purchased this game.
2311909860: It was purchased online. It is a retail copy. not a digital download.
2311909860: if that helps
Christina: Okay. Have you purchased it from Steam ?
2311909860: No. It was purchased via an online retailer who then shipped the game to me.
Christina: Run services.msc from the Run menu option in Windows. Pressing the Windows key + R will bring up your Run menu. Simply type "services.msc" into the window and click OK.
2311909860: I have the services.msc already running. i have the content updater running and the issue is still present.
2311909860: it was one of the first things that i tried.
Christina: · Find the Dragon Age: Origins Updater service in the list. · Double-click on the service to bring up the properties. · Press the Start button if the service is not currently running. · Change Startup type to Automatic. · Close the Properties and Services interface. · Run the game and see if the DLC are now working or not.
2311909860: Still states that the DLC is unauthorised. I have already tried this process before contacting you.
Christina: I sincerely regret any inconvenience caused due to this issue.
Christina: Please give me a moment as I provide you another step.
2311909860: ok
Christina: 1. Go into My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings 2. Make a backup copy of the file "addins.xml", and 3. open addins.xml in notepad, or any XML editor. (I used Notepad++) 2. Wherever it says RequiresAuthorization="1", change that to RequiresAuthorization="0". Image: http://i54.tinypic.com/vqjxg2.png My addins.xml afterwards: http://pastebin.com/CDXtnJBX Restart the game and check if the all of the DLC appeared to work or not.
2311909860: Still states as unauthorised
Christina: Please restart your System and See if it works for you. If the problem still persists, Please free feel to contact us again.
2311909860: ok. thanks for your help. i shall do that now
'2311909860' disconnected ('Concluded by End-user').
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She didn't really seem to grasp that i had tried all of things she suggested prior to getting in touch.  The only thing i didn't do was to edit the addins.xml file.  I did try it after but it didn't change anything.

I even went as far as following this advice and after doing so there was no DLC in the downloaded window in the ingame menu and it wouldn't auto download them either.
http://support.ea.co...deem Promo Code

I decided that what i was going to do was uninstall and reinstall the game.
After uninstall i went through the registry to find any instances of bioware and look for anything associated to Dragon Age.
Once i had done this i restarted the computer and then reinstalled the game.
Once that had been completed i downloaded the 1.04 patch (i know ultimate edition comes with it but figured everything is worth a try) and then set every exectuable file that this game has to run with admin privileges.
I then double checked to see if the updater service was running in auto mode, which it was and i also made sure it was running at that point too.

I run the game as normal and logged in.
DLC unauthorised still. :pinched:
Logged out then logged back in.
DLC stil unauthorised.:(
Logged out and exited the game then i run the game again.
DLC still unauthorised:devil:
logged out and then logged back in.
DLC still unauthorised :crying:

I was pretty pissed of at this point so i got back in touch with live chat again.
This time i got a guy named Bob.  He did highlight something that i was not aware of before.  Namely this.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
........................
Bob: May I know the product code of your Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition copy?
2311909860: will it be secure over this service? i was always under the impression that it would never be asked for.
Bob: Don't worry. This chat service is completely secure.
2311909860: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Bob: Please give me a moment while I check this for you.
2311909860: ok
Bob: Thank you for waiting.
Bob: May I know which DLCs you are trying to access.
2311909860: Any which come with the Ultimate edition.
2311909860: The back of the case states that it comes with 7 DLC products
2311909860: sorry, 10
2311909860: none of them are authorising in game
Bob: Please give me some time to investigate the issue you are experiencing.
2311909860: ok
Bob: Thank you for waiting. I really appreciate your patience.
Bob: I would like to inform that your Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition code isn't redeemed yet.
Bob: Please redeem that code at Bioware official site.
2311909860: could you tell me where this redeem code is? is it the product key?
Bob: At bioware's official website.
Bob: In
addition, I would like to mention that there is some temporary issue
with Bioware. I request you to please try after 24-48 hours.
2311909860: Ok. Is it the Bioware Social Network site i should be on?
Bob: Yes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so.
I
can assume from this that it means when your product key is registered
via the Bioware Social Network your redeem code/s will be sent to you
via the internal message system or via email?
That bit of information isn't made clear when installing the game and it's nowhere to be found in the manual.
So assuming the above, Bob then throws me this curve ball.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bob: For DLC's code you can contact your retailer, I hope they would be able to help you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WTF is that supposed to mean?
I though that because i have bought the Ultimate edition which has the DLC i'm trying to authorise install with the game that all i would have to do is install and play.
Surely his last statement is incorrect.
I can only assume he doesn't realise that i have the Ultimate Edition even though i stated that to heim earlier.

Can someone from these forums tell me the process they went through in order to get their redeem code/s or whether the even needed one because of the DLC installing with the game itself?

So far, everything i have read has been as clear as the info i recieved from the live chat.

Chomerly, I've had the same EXACT problem. The EA reps had absolutely no idea what they were talking about and weren't grasping anything I was saying, either. I also noticed that what they told you differed from what they told me, so I'm assuming that they don't know what they're saying.

If I figure it out, I'll let you know. In the meantime, I'll be creeping this thread. =)

I totally understand what you mean buddy.
I'm still non the wiser for how i obtain redeem codes for my game and strangely, when i look in my profile on the Bioware site and then navigate to Your Registered Game Content i find there is stuff in there for Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2.

Now, Mass Effect 2 i can understand as i have this and the first game but Dragon Age 2?
I've never owned or played DA2 on PC, PS3 or 360.  In fact, it's never been in my home so how can i have registered game content in my profile for a game i've never played?

I hope they get this bug sorted soon as i don't intend on continuing to play until i'm given the Soldiers Peak quest by Levi Dryden, which i can't get until the DLC which is included in the ultimate version authorises.

Come on Bioware/EA, sort it out will you.
Your man said it would be between 24 and 48 hours to resolve this issue but it seems to me that you've had the same one since before the Ultimate version of this game was released and it still isn't fixed.
It gives little wonder why people often choose the piracy route.  At least they get to play the game relatively bug free and without issue of unauthorised DLC.

Ok,

I've tried to take this a little further by opening the ports on my router.
Admittedly the ports opened are for Dragon Age 2 but i figured that i would try anyway and see where it got me.

I'm unhappy to say that nothing has changed so it's a case of waiting on Bioware or downloading a crack which would do the job.

Has anyone manage to figure out why it is that when you click the Profile Diagnostics link in your DA Profile Page that it always says 'Unable to connect to the online storage server.'?

Well i have some of my DLC now.

I was on live chat and one of the support staff their manually added the DLC to my Bioware account so i could get access to it in game.
I have to get back in touch with them though as i still only have some of the DLC and not all that i should have.

When you bought the game, you should have 2 codes inside your case. One is for the game itself, and the other is for all the current DLCs. They should be listed right next to eachother. After you authorize both codes on the bioware site, you have to manually download some of the DLCs from the "My registered content" tab in the "Profile" dropdown under your picture. Hope this helped at least a little.

Now only if i could get my hands on a copy that actually works....
or Amazon gets it's act together and ships my replacement from the building i can see from my house...

I was however, able to register my DLC. The exact oposite problem most people seem to be happening.

I only had the one for the game itself.  There was no other code present and after explaining this to the support team member i corresponded with last he checked to see if the associated game key had already been redeemed (they have records of which game keys are supplied with which according to their database).
It turns out mine hadn't been redeemed which is no suprise as it was a sealed copy that i bought obviously and when i explained that the game i have in front of me has only one key for the install he just manually authorised all the content that i should have had.

what?

It's $28 right now at amazon. I bought mine from origin store about 6 months ago, it was around $35. It's quite cheap for so much content IMO
