Has anyone solved the issue of DLC not authorising with your account?
I've had the game months but never got around to playing it until last night.
So far what i have read is that this has been happening from as far back as 2009. According to the dates of the posts i've read with regards to this issue anyway.
I went through the live chat process as most people have done and here is the transcript from the first CS agent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, my name is Christina. How may I help you?
2311909860: Dragon age Ultimate is stating that the DLC is unauthorised.
2311909860: I can not get it to change
2311909860: I've followed some advice on the forums but it's still the same
2311909860: all executable files have admin privileges and the DA updater is running in the background.
Christina: I sincerely regret any inconvenience caused due to this issue.
Christina: Please give me a moment as I look into this issue.
2311909860: ok. thank you
Christina: May I know from where did you purchased this game.
2311909860: It was purchased online. It is a retail copy. not a digital download.
2311909860: if that helps
Christina: Okay. Have you purchased it from Steam ?

2311909860: No. It was purchased via an online retailer who then shipped the game to me.
Christina: Run services.msc from the Run menu option in Windows. Pressing the Windows key + R will bring up your Run menu. Simply type "services.msc" into the window and click OK.
2311909860: I have the services.msc already running. i have the content updater running and the issue is still present.
2311909860: it was one of the first things that i tried.
Christina: · Find the Dragon Age: Origins Updater service in the list. · Double-click on the service to bring up the properties. · Press the Start button if the service is not currently running. · Change Startup type to Automatic. · Close the Properties and Services interface. · Run the game and see if the DLC are now working or not.

2311909860: Still states that the DLC is unauthorised. I have already tried this process before contacting you.
Christina: I sincerely regret any inconvenience caused due to this issue.
Christina: Please give me a moment as I provide you another step.
2311909860: ok
Christina: 1. Go into My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings 2. Make a backup copy of the file "addins.xml", and 3. open addins.xml in notepad, or any XML editor. (I used Notepad++) 2. Wherever it says RequiresAuthorization="1", change that to RequiresAuthorization="0". Image:

http://pastebin.com/CDXtnJBX Restart the game and check if the all of the DLC appeared to work or not.
2311909860: Still states as unauthorised
Christina: Please restart your System and See if it works for you. If the problem still persists, Please free feel to contact us again.
2311909860: ok. thanks for your help. i shall do that now

She didn't really seem to grasp that i had tried all of things she suggested prior to getting in touch. The only thing i didn't do was to edit the addins.xml file. I did try it after but it didn't change anything.
I even went as far as following this advice and after doing so there was no DLC in the downloaded window in the ingame menu and it wouldn't auto download them either.

I decided that what i was going to do was uninstall and reinstall the game.
After uninstall i went through the registry to find any instances of bioware and look for anything associated to Dragon Age.
Once i had done this i restarted the computer and then reinstalled the game.
Once that had been completed i downloaded the 1.04 patch (i know ultimate edition comes with it but figured everything is worth a try) and then set every exectuable file that this game has to run with admin privileges.
I then double checked to see if the updater service was running in auto mode, which it was and i also made sure it was running at that point too.
I run the game as normal and logged in.
DLC unauthorised still.

Logged out then logged back in.
DLC stil unauthorised.

Logged out and exited the game then i run the game again.
DLC still unauthorised:devil:
logged out and then logged back in.
DLC still unauthorised
I was pretty pissed of at this point so i got back in touch with live chat again.
This time i got a guy named Bob. He did highlight something that i was not aware of before. Namely this.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
........................
Bob: May I know the product code of your Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition copy?
2311909860: will it be secure over this service? i was always under the impression that it would never be asked for.
Bob: Don't worry. This chat service is completely secure.
2311909860: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Bob: Please give me a moment while I check this for you.
2311909860: ok
Bob: Thank you for waiting.
Bob: May I know which DLCs you are trying to access.
2311909860: Any which come with the Ultimate edition.
2311909860: The back of the case states that it comes with 7 DLC products
2311909860: sorry, 10
2311909860: none of them are authorising in game
Bob: Please give me some time to investigate the issue you are experiencing.
2311909860: ok
Bob: Thank you for waiting. I really appreciate your patience.
Bob: I would like to inform that your Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition code isn't redeemed yet.
Bob: Please redeem that code at Bioware official site.
2311909860: could you tell me where this redeem code is? is it the product key?
Bob: At bioware's official website.
Bob: In
addition, I would like to mention that there is some temporary issue
with Bioware. I request you to please try after 24-48 hours.
2311909860: Ok. Is it the Bioware Social Network site i should be on?
Bob: Yes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, so.
I
can assume from this that it means when your product key is registered
via the Bioware Social Network your redeem code/s will be sent to you
via the internal message system or via email?
That bit of information isn't made clear when installing the game and it's nowhere to be found in the manual.
So assuming the above, Bob then throws me this curve ball.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bob: For DLC's code you can contact your retailer, I hope they would be able to help you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WTF is that supposed to mean?
I though that because i have bought the Ultimate edition which has the DLC i'm trying to authorise install with the game that all i would have to do is install and play.
Surely his last statement is incorrect.
I can only assume he doesn't realise that i have the Ultimate Edition even though i stated that to heim earlier.
Can someone from these forums tell me the process they went through in order to get their redeem code/s or whether the even needed one because of the DLC installing with the game itself?
So far, everything i have read has been as clear as the info i recieved from the live chat.
