I have DA:O UE for the xbox, but I was thinking about buying another one for the PC ahead of time, for when I finally get a better computer in the future. Does this version come with the toolset?

What I'm wondering is, is it worth it to get the DA:O UE or should I get the regular version and then the DLC separately? Can I save DLC on my own hard drive or does that not work? I know it's cheaper to get them all together, but with what I've been reading about all the problems with authentication, I'm a little wary of this edition. Were there similar problems authenticating the DLC that was bought separately online?

Ideally, I want a hard copy of the game, that I can save to play in the future without problems. Is that at all possible with any version of DA:O and the DLCs?

It seemed so much easier in the past when all was needed was to have the original cd and maybe match a word or phrase from the manual. *sigh*

Should I just take a chance and buy this edition and hope that by the time I play it 6 months from now it will magically authenticate without worry?

You have to download the toolset separately but it is is a free download, so don't worry.

I have the DA:O UE version for my PC and had never a problem with the authentication. AFAIK the latest patch also fixed that? Dunno, haven't installed it, so I can't comment on that. However, I would get the DA:O UE version if I were you, because it simply saves you a lot of money.

FWIW, I have a Steam copy of the Ultimate Edition, and my friend has the Amazon downloaded version. She's never had an authentication issue, and I did but was able to fix it (it was a Steam problem). And to download the DLC's, you have to register your game here on BSN and with EA servers, but then it is tied to your BSN/EA account and can be re-downloaded at will. They did have huge problems with the authenctication when the UE first came out, but I think it's gotten better (not perfect, but better).

I just bought the ultimate edition this week through steam and had no authentication issues, I just followed the instructions.

I just got the Ultimate edition and it won't accept my code. The content pack says it ran out on the 30th of april 2011. Please help.

Weird - since I got given the ultimate edition Christmas 2010, I've never been able to have the DLC "Authorised", so have been running vanilla DA:O and Awakening. However, the game's updated as of... 10 minutes after my typing this, and everything works. Never thought that'd be fixed, so Thanks, Bio-team, really is appreciated!

Make sure you are typing in the entire code, including the numbers in the smaller font at the front and back of the code.

I got the Ultimate edition, but only have access to 5/7 DLC packs.
I'm not able to download The Stone Prisoner or Return To Ostagar.

Scratch that, I'm only able to download Warden's Keep, Darkspawn Chron., Leliana's Song, Witch-Hunt and The Golems Of Amgarrak. Everything else either has 2 gray lines or more info link.

I need help ASAP!!

I'm sure I'm typing in the entire code but it always says "Code not recognized, please check that you have entered it correctly."
I'm in the same case as Dasgoodya : the content pack says the promo code ran out on the 30th of april 2011.
I don't know what to do...

Make sure you are entering the "Proof of Purchase" code.  Once you have the code entered you will be able to download the patch that will fix the expired promo issue.

Hey, I have the PS3 version and I am unable to get a couple of the Trophies, my Character has killed over 1000 Darkspawn, but the Trophies for the 500 and the 1000 were not recognized as achieved. Does anyoine know why?

This is a known issue, why it doesn't work isn't known.

Has anyone else experienced problems with the DA origins patch for PC? My game gets glitchy & shuts down on me during some of the fights. I downloaded the last patch but it didn't seem to fix anything.
