Has anyone else experienced problems with the DA origins patch for PC? My game gets glitchy & shuts down on me during some of the fights. I downloaded the last patch but it didn't seem to fix anything.

Yes, the game do crash sometimes during intense combat sequences. I have been experiencing this with visual effects heavy spells and talents like Mana Clash and Cleanse Area.

You may try using mods to disable various effects according to your taste. As far as I remember, these crashes completely ceased for me after removing few of these.

I am also experiencing frequent crashes during battle scenes. Where do you get the mods to get rid of the spell visual effects?

Try the DA Nexus for mods.

Ugghhhh! Can't find if on DA Nexus. I found one that said it removed the visual effects but when I read the comments it was really a cheat that beefed up the character and changed how the skills operated. If anyone has a good mod they can link that will help my game not crash every major battle I'd really appreciate it. It is starting to annoy me to the point I may not be able to finish my first character! :(

You mean the patch? No, I don't believe so. Just pop in the game disc when connected to online and it'll prompt you to update.

If you mean does it have the Witch Hunt DLC, yes, it says so right on the box. UE after all.

Anyone able to tell me how to register the game in this site? Says to get code from box... But there is no code on the box, there is a register code in the insert but it does't work here. Brand new game for 360.

EDIT~ thanks that did it. I was thinking they went & changed their packaging, but I just missed the side numbers on eachside of the barcode.

Look at your UPC code -- to the far left and far right of the large font numbers -- there will be a number on each side in very SMALL font.
"To register your XBOX 360 version of Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age Awakening or Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, you must take all 12 digits of the UPC code (the small numbers at the beginning and end of the barcode area and the numbers between) and input them in the box for the correct version you are registering"

Also as there's two - DAO and DAO:UE... make sure you pick DAO:UE.

After you register your PC Ultimate Edition go into the game and click on Downloadable Content. You should be under the "Available Content" tab. At the bottom of the list you'll see a button that says "Redeem Code," click on that! It should open up a new web browser window to log in, if you haven't already. The window for "Promo Code" is there..
That's the window where you enter your ####-####-####-#### code (The DLC CD-Key).
After the code is accepted restart the game and then all the content should be unlocked.

Otherwise you'll need tech support
support.ea.com/

Good luck!

I finished reading the last David Gaider book today. And all I can say is the world he describes in his texts are brilliant. Logain I can never ever kill him again. If I read the books before I played the game I would want him in my party all the time. I love that character so much and Aleister in the graphic novels are a King and a man you could respect why did they have to neuter him for the game? I mean come on the Alistair in there would be a companion to have with you on your quests. I think David is a brilliant writer and I am so angry that I had to read the books to find that out. Since they created the world around his world it should have been like his books, so alive, tantalizing and interesting. I would have wanted to start the origins over after reading the first book. (Witch I also did) But I would have wanted to play Alistair because who are we kidding whatever origin we choose it is his story. I would like to be able to play the story from Alistair’s point of view. That would be splendid. I take my hat off for David and what he created whatever I think of what became of the Dragon Age story he has done a tremendous work creating this world. I am the first to tell someone when I find that they have done a good job so thank you David for the books too bad they do not more of his vision in to the games, They would have blown all others out of the water because they have the social interaction and good dialog and David’s characters are strong. They should show more faith in him I for one have total faith in his vision and as any writer a few suggestions of my own what to add ;).

Just bought the Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition for the Xbox 360.  I installed all the DLC from the second disc and it all looks set perfectly to play. However I am intirigued as to how I unlock the Blood Dragon Armor in Mass Effect 2. All information I read online points towards a code which you enter which redeems it for use in both ME2 and DAO. However for me the Blood Dragon Armor was one of the DLCs you install with the second disc. While this means it works great in DAO, it seems there is now no way of redeeming it for ME2.

I subsequently registered my DAO Ultimate Edition with Bioware and in my list of registered game content in came up that I am entitled to said armor in Dragon Age 2. I understood it would't list it for Dragon Age Origins because it is standard on disc but shouldn't it have been added here to Mass Effect 2? I have no idea how to actually redeem the code.

Regards

This is old but...
Enter the game, make sure you have an internet connection for your Xbox. Log onto the Cerberus Network and at the top of the list is "Blood Dragon Armor. 0 Points" Begin download and return to the Xbox Dashboard (The download is paused while in games)
When the "Download Finished" Message comes up re-enter the game, you should see your dragon armor
Also some freebies:

Tried this and nothings there. For it to be there it would have to be in my list of registered game content, which it is not.

I had thought the bonus offer for ME2 was a part of DAO:UE. Guess not. Try Ea.help - they will probably give you the code outright.

Does one have to register online to get access to DLCs in the Ultimate Edition? I am behind a firewall beyond my control and can't access the online server. I missed out on several DLCs because of it, and am doing another playthru right now.

I think you need an EA Account for it, so yes.

I have had a copy of DAO ultimate for 2+ years now, adn i have recently come back o play it again. i decided I used Origin for it, and when ti comes time to login to the Dragon Age servers it says my Login ID or password is incorrect.

I am assuming my login should be the exact same as my EA/Origin account, which I have used, successfully, to login to this site, EA, and Origin. I cannot access my old save game because of this.

I talked to an EA rep but they just gave me a bunch of runaround BS about a known issue and they will post in the forums, then gave me a the EA forum generic website, not indicating where in the forums it will be posted when it is fixed. I have been scouring the forums but cannot find anything about updates on this issue. Can someone help me at least find out where the updates are posted? I am extremely pissed at the complete lack of service and integrity that EA shows its customers

ahoy_mccoy: i have the exact same issue as you except im playing through steam. I talked to ea support yesterday and they gave about the same response as they gave you. so all we can confirme at the moment is that the dragon age servers are offline in some way and they know about the issue and will hopefully get them up again soon.
