Don't worry about it, then - we'll manage. I know what Garry's Mod is, but I don't think it's necessary... I played through the whole game again just to take screenshots for the cards, and I've got thousands of them in 1920x1080 (I've just checked and it's 16 GB!) - that should be enough. Plus hours of recorded dialogue so I can choose the right quotes for important characters... it was pain in the a**, but I finished it yesterday.

I make the cards in Photoshop, with all my layers labeled appropriately, so it's easy for me to keep track.

EDIT: Here's a render of a booster pack, just for fun. The lighting and reflections are a bit off, I only spent a few minutes on it.

very nice use of that famous Thane picture. Booster packs should have the famous pictures.

look up famous mass effect quotes on google, you are bound to get some good quotes from that. And you have to include that speech from that gunnery chief in a card somehow. (link below to see what i am talking about)

i am trying out a knock off photoshop program, has good ratings but idk how it will work. its called Gimp.

I dont know if this is off subject, but how would a Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion TCG or card based game sound?

You mean the Isaac Newton speech? Yeah, I'd really like to include that...

I know Gimp, I tried it once. It's a great free software, though I'll stick with Photoshop for now.

Ha, funny you should mention an Oblivion Card Game. I made a mod for Oblivion (I'm still updating it) that adds cards to collect. They're hidden as random loot, or just scattered around the wilderness. More info here, if you're interested: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=19140

do you like the garrus card i modified. made cost a gold color, power a blue color, and health a red color for easy and quick identification

Well, the idea behind it is good, but I'd like to stick with the original interface design from ME2... therefore, just shades of green and orange. I'll try to think of something, though.

did you make that? its impressive. the only mods i have made were cloaks (that actually flowed with the character), new character voices (actually did a commander shepherd voice but lost the file when my computer whent a-wall and blew up on me), Shatterblade Sword (if you used the sword to block {no shield} then it had a 50% chance to completely destroy the attackers weapon),  and was making a new world simmilar to shivering isles (working with about 10 other friends who knew what they were doing, i was just providing textures and 3d objects). that card mod looks cool, i think i will try it. hopefully it wont crash my Moster Mod

I've tried a few cloak mods in my years of playing Oblivion, it's likely yours was among them. I made a few mods, though only this one has become relatively popular.

How about this:

I made use of hexagons, which are pretty much everywhere in ME2. It's not perfect, but it's a start.

my cloak mod was the only mod i posted. i was relly angry when i lost my commander shepherd voice mod. i had paragon and half of the renegade done.
i tried to stick with good mass effect colors for the card. i thot it looked pretty good

no, i think it looks very good, kinda small but it works at a glance if you know what your looking for. i am big about At A Glance identifying on cards, make gameplay go by much smoother

you have to make a card of what garrus said before he went into the quarintined part of Omega.
and another when he comments on shepherd talking to the asari detective about her supiriors.

I think with the addition of the hexes with the C P and  H, it looks pretty streamlined to most TCGs.

It looks better (and clearer) when you print it, though. Plus, the picture was resized for some reason - I make the cards in higher resolution than this.

I'll have two or three versions of important characters in the first set, so I'll make use of other quotes. Thanks for the tip.

its a forum, it auto sizes for easy loading.

Can i submit a possible back for the cards? i have a good idea in my mind. it will take me a few days to conjure it up and have it look good.

This is what I came up with, show me yours.

I'm still not entirely happy with the hexes... I think it looked better without them, not there's too much stuff on the card.

ill have to make it but its gonna be like a computer console with the Cerberus emblem in the middle. orange back ground. i want it to have the feel like the data pads that shepherd is constantly using throughout the entire game.

dont forget you still have my idea to fall back on, cuz i kept the hex background and just gave it a blue, yellow or reddish hue.

I'm going to use this background, so you might want to save time by not making something you won't use... Although, I'll probably release my PSD template after the first set of cards is done, so you'll be able to create your own cards, with your own background.

In the meantime, some older cards (no hexes yet):

Yeah, I thought so. The darker frame looks better and it aligns nicely with the one underneath. Now I'm deciding whether to put the C on Abilities and Missions... there's only one number, so it'll be clear what it means. On the other hand, I don't want it to look inconsistent.

yah, youll have to put the C because all the character cards have them and everything has to be consistant

and you never know when you will have a special mission or ability that will utilize some other type of number that has to have a hex with a letter in it. example, {ability-Geth Squad Airdrop   Neutral    C-6 P-2 H-2  when this card comes into play,  put 3 counters on it. Treat these counters as P-2 H-2 Geth Troopers. These troopers can attack this turn.} the power and health are to remind you what the stats are for these 3 geth troopers. of course there will be several Geth Airdrop cards with different abilities.

and if you are gonna keep that back for the cards, add some type of border. Looks too plain. or add the normandy coming in or something to that effect

another thing that has been kinda buggin me is that the star for the renegade and the star for the neutral look very simmilar. i thot the freeze card was renegade at first. idk it could be just me. im tired.

Been looking into the legal $h!+, this shouldnt cause any conflict because its free, we are doing this for fun, not for profit. perfect example is people making Halo knock off games all over the web. this one is just going to be a little more advanced and hopefully have online play.

OK, changed a few things today. Apart from the hexes, the neutral alignment icon's background is now gold, instead of gray. I'll post pictures later.

The rear side will stay as it is - it's supposed to be plain and simple, look at Magic or Star Wars cards.

I don't plan on dusting them any time soon unfortunately. :?
