Been looking into the legal $h!+, this shouldnt cause any conflict because its free, we are doing this for fun, not for profit. perfect example is people making Halo knock off games all over the web. this one is just going to be a little more advanced and hopefully have online play.

There are some guys making a ME fangame and they tried contacting Bioware for quite a bit. When someone did reply to them, they said that it was absolutely fine.

hmm... you got a point with the starwars cards and yougioh, but magic cards acctually had something useful on the back, believe it or not. the five colored dots told you which color was effective against which. idk tho. good job with putting the mass relay as your central idea because the whole mass effect universe is based off of them.

A mass relay seemed like an obvious choice... actually, I tried the Omega 4 relay first, but then I thought it would be better to use a regular one.

the omega 4 relay is cool but no one ever uses it so it wouldnt have fit right

That's right - it looked good, but it didn't make much sense to have it there...

I'm strangely intrigued by this idea. The current card designs are extremely good across the board imo.

Perhaps locations on ME1/ME2 could be used as 'environmental cards'? e.g. Haestrom, which gives cards with a melee ability a penalty as they have to 'cross through the light' to reach their target to do damage? Perhaps while it's in play melee/very close range abilities can't even be used?

Or beyond the Omega 4 Relay where every single character card is at risk from taking damage passing through due to the debris? Perhaps combined with a 'Reaper IFF card' means you pass through safely while only your opponent gets damaged?

Just something totally off the top of my head there, figured I'd show my support for this thread with a quick idea. Keep it up, loving those character cards. :)

I love your cards and youve done some great work. I hate to be a critic but isn't Mordin a Renegade?

He has some Paragon features but hes pretty ruthless at times. Hes not a huge renegade but thats where I would put him.

He's more of a pragmatic - you know, "ends justify the means". He's doing it for the greater good, though - his loyalty mission is a good example. He could also be neutral, I guess.

The background isn't bad at all, James... As for the font, you can find plenty of ME logos with transparent background, just google "Mass Effect .png logo".

With that logic, you could argue that TIM is a Paragon. I guess it is more perspective whether a character is Paragon or Renegade. I always thought of Garrus as a bit of a Renegade yet you put him as a Paragon, he hates injustice but he doesn't seem to mind playing judge, jury and executioner against criminals, just look at Sidonius.

if i wanted to go that extra trip, but i just threw that together in about 10 minutes. you said you wernt gonna use it so i didnt go all out on teh font.
and i thot the background turned out pretty good, and looked like the termials that you see all the time. and if the cards had the angular sides instead of rounded, it would make it closer to Mass Effect style and would be very unique

IDEA- Equipment cards. {Claymore Shotgun- Neutral- Cost 4- When this card comes into play, put it on a Krogan. that krogan gets +2 power as long as it has this equipment.}

The difference between Mordin and the Illusive Man is that Mordin regrets his actions when he sees the result. I'll admit, it's hard do decide in some cases (you mentioned Garrus, that's another one) - after all, the ME universe is not black and white.

the only bad is the Reapers and the only good is Admiral Anderson.

Good point.

It may not make that much sense, but I'm going to stick with Mordin and Garrus as Paragons, if solely for gameplay balance. With so many Collectors, mercs, and geth, we need to have some good guys to throw into battle.

Equipment - already thought of:
