Yeah, I was talking about Slider.

The Cerberus logo would also be a bit weird to have in a card game, you know ?

So, I spent the last 24 hours adjusting, polishing, and tweaking the template I use for the cards, because I stumbled upon an unfortunate problem: while the cards may seem fine on the screen, the font is/was incredibly tiny when you print them. That means I had to change a lot of things, hopefully it'll still look good.

To sum it up, these are changes I made since I first posted in this thread:
- redone the icon for "Neutral" units
- changed the font used for race and faction details
- changed the font used for description (powers and quotes)
- added hexes with letters to indicate which number means what
- lots of other small things that aren't really worth mentioning

Behold, a new version of Legion:

i like the new neutral icon, stands out better. and i can see a small change in the fonts. i did notice something tho, you put a hex at the bottom left of the card and have an A in it. is that to identify "Abilities"?

No, it's there because if I make multiple version of a character, they'll have to be easily told apart.

Saw your thread, good luck with that project... I could try and come up with some card design, if you want.

i wouldnt mind some designs or input toward the oblivon tcg, post it on the oblivion forum also so everyone can see em. accounts are free and you dont have to register a game to do it.

and i still havent decided on how i am going to make the oblivion system work yet but the back of the card is pretty obvious cuz you have only 1 real option.

I've been registered there for a couple years now... Ok, I'll try something today and post it if it's good.

The back is obvious, you're right - I'm guessing you'll use this one (That's a screen from my mod I told you about.)

EDIT: After reading the thread, the game actually sounds very interesting. I already have tons of ideas flowing through my head.

yah basicly, there really isnt much else you can put. the only choices are either the white cover with black symbol or the black cover with the darker symbol (like on the GOTY edition) but i will probably use the white version.
have you made any Generic Cards yet? like asari commando squad?

yah i had the same thing when i saw your thread

hell... now i am thinking of a FO3 tcg too... one thing at a time... grr

Not many generic cards yet, only LOKI Mech Squad and a few other.

New stuff:

ive wondered this for a while. how is the cost system going to work?

Well, it's pretty simple - you have to pay a unit's Cost in Credits in order to deploy it.

i understand that, im talkin about how you get credits.

You get certain amount of Credits at the beginning, and then you roll a die at the end of each round to determine how much you more you gain - it's the same as SWTCG.

Alternatively, you could get the same amount each round without having to roll. Haven't decided yet.

i think you should have "Colony" cards. that add credits to your current amount per turn. you dont want to copy SWTCG exactly. and there would be special colony cards that add more creds than a standard colony but they are rarer and cost creds to build (example. a Eden Prime colony card.) cuz if you got the same amount per turn, it would be kinda boring.

Except that there's not enough colonies for this to work. But they could be replaced by planets....

Another idea: I'll combine this concept with my "Mission" cards. They work this way, after all - deployed permanently until replaced by another Mission.

that would work much better., and i am talkin about generic colony cards. (simply a card called colony). look at MTG. there were multiple mountain cards, most generic but a few were special {forested mountain came into play tapped but next turn would produce one red and one green mana} and these were rare to find.

my oblivion tcg thread is getting some attention but is dying at the same time. i just put the Card Back that i made on the thread. ill send it to you in a personal message

I've just redone the whole ME template in higher resolution (it's 1238x1700 now, to be precise). There's one problem remaining: the font used for names. It looks cool and fits the theme - it's the exact same font that was used in ME2, after all - but it's too wide. While the card's width is enough most of the time, some names like "Shadow Broker Vanguard" just won't fit and I don't want to narrow it down.
So, anyone got a tip for a nice blocky sci-fi font that would solve my problem?

EDIT: Found the font that was used for dialogue subtitles in the original ME, that'll do nicely.

Thanks for the tip, James, I know Slider. The font I'm going to use is called "Domyouji" - like I said, it was used for dialogue subtitles in Mass Effect. It's not free, but totally worth the price.

Here's the new, final (hopefully) design:

Open the picture in a new tab to see it in full resolution (which is still about 60% of the original card).

looks pretty good. how is the LOKI mech card coming? i know everyone else likes the heroes and all, but without the little guy, heroes die. i like the generic squad cards or whatnot.
