Yea, I played Mass effect 2, four maybe five times? Not as many as other people on here, but I forced myself to stop. I didn't want to have the game loose any of its emotional punch. I beat metal gear solid at least 30 times. I could do that with mass effect, but its just too precious. Also, I'm playing "Spiderman - Web of shadows", and playing as renegade spiderman. Its my replacement game.
I just started a renegade spiderman on web of shadows, trying to get my head away from mass effect! lol

The one thing I wish I didn't do, because almost none of my friends play Mass Effect (depressingly) is make references to the game. Or rather, I will bring up examples from the game to explain what I am talking about or to relate to what someone else is speaking of.
I'll also make inside jokes that no one can get, for the same reason. I even said that a certain pizza place was my favorite on the citadel the other day and the gf was miffed and confused. I should have just said that it was my favorite, but noooo, the citadel jokes is always on my mind.
Addendum: I also wear the ME2 hoodie nearly every day (except when dressing up) and have two t-shirts now. I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite shirt on the Citadel!

Well, despite the fact that I can put my N7 hoody on over any one of my Mass Effect t-shirts and get in my van with the SR7 sticker on the back...
And the fact that my Xbox avatar wears Ashley's armor....
And the fact that my xbox motto is "But the priiize"...
And the fact that my husband rather irritably informed me that I "have a problem"...
And the fact that I now think in the form of Motivationals, due to this forum...
Mass Effect isn't affecting my life in any way, at all.

Every time I meet someone named Rex, I stop and say "Rex," then stand there waiting for them to say, "Shepard." No luck so far...
me and a mate always end conversations with "Wrex", "Shepard", also ive spent a lot of time reading up on the planets and stars nasa have found and thought i know more than that! (actually, that most recent planet they found should be named terra nova)

Oops, forgot to mention my Xbox avatar is wearing Garrus's visor. Other than that, she kinda looks like Peppermint Patty from Peanuts, but with white hair. Great combo
(And my Xbox live motto is actually "Reality Sucks"

I also end conversations with 'I should go', forget to feed the fish, turn my head to look at people out the corner of my eye when I speak to them for no reason, hum the galaxy map music when looking at the street directory and find myself pretending to be an elite N7 operative when fulfilling my utterly boring job requirements.

Thanks to Mass Effect(and other Bioware games), I can't play JRPGs anymore. :/ They do little for me. I have had gotten ME2 and FFXIII roughly within weeks of each other. I beat maybe two playthroughs and thought it was time to move on to FFXIII. Played it, somewhere close to the middle, I missed ME2 so much that I stopped playing FFXIII, went back to ME2, and haven't looked back since. It's now still collecting dust and I still have no desire to play it. I need a new game to get my thoughts away from mass effect.
I have this same problem. I did not even try FFXIII. Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Demon's Souls and Bioshock have ruined typical JRPGs for me. I know Demon's Souls is in fact a JRPG, but it is highly unqiue compared to any other in that category. I also know that Bioshock isn't widely considered an RPG at all, but you do have choices and weapon/magic customization, so it helped ruin JRPGs as well.
Actually, I'm not at all complaining. I use to love games like those in the Tales series, but now they seem to trite and pointless that I'm glad I don't waste time on them. Every year I have less and less game playing time, so I only want to play the great games like Mass Effect and Red Dead Redemption.

So, uh, how long until ME3...?

When ME1 first came out I blew through the game 7 times in like four months, then played sparingly for like 3 more. After that, it was all Gears 2 for the summer afterwards.
Now ME2 came out, and that dominated my summer, after my previously stated 6 months, I arrive at the here and now, and I'm trying to ween myself off because I know if I keep playing, I'll never forget about how much I love the game, and it will feel like that much longer for ME3...
Anyway, some things I do...
- hum "invincible" to myself when I get stressed from school, it calms me down
- imagine possible scenarios for the end of ME3
- watch the ending of ME2 on youtube over and over because its so damn epic
It doesn't seem like much, but for me its the most I have ever loved a video game.

This thread is cataclysmic in its awesomeness. I feel like its going to rip a hole in the fabric of the universe. Anyway, back on topic, I don't know if I'm addicted, but I think I was. Couldn't stop playing for like a 6 month period. So here's the story:

Apart from using lines from both games, my cell phone masseffected itself. When someone sends me a message Kelly Chambers always tells me. I love people faces when my phone starts saying: "Commander you received a new message in your private terminal" and then I took it. It's so awesome!!!
That's epic!
