You, sir, are my hero.masterkajo wrote...
- Every since the first ME was announced I almost daily visit the Mass Effect website.
- I talk to my friends about it even though noone of them is a gamer. BUT, I recently got 3 of them - finally after some long conversations and convincing - to play Mass Effect even though only when I am sitting besides them and telling them how to play (they never had a xbox controller in their hand before). One already finished it the other one is shortly before the End Game. Next week they will surely start the second one.
And the last one, my best friend, plays on her own on PC. I even had to buy the PC version for her but it was totally worth it. She is mid-Feros right now (only Virmire left to go).
They were all impressed by the interaction, graphics and choices. So I am pretty proud of myself getting 3 people into enjoying the awesomeness that is Mass Effect.

I found this extremely interesting, especially since I have been on a huge Mass Effect kick lately
Wow, yahoo really fluffed that up - I've heard about this Gliese star system before. The reason why it doesn't "rotate much" is because the 'Goldilocks' planet is presumed to be tidally-locked to its parent star, which is a red dwarf. Since red dwarves are "colder" stars than most, a planet needs to be really close to it to be in the habitable zone, and any planet close enough to a red dwarf, is usually (presumably always) tidally locked to it. This is a really controversial issue, between cosmologists and astronomers, since it is hard to determine whether or not a tidally-locked planet orbiting a red dwarf would be able to maintain an atmosphere. Red dwarves, although long lasting stars, don't emit very much UV radiation, and also are unreliable because at points in their history, they tend to flare up, doubling in brightness, or alternatively, dim too much. ETC. ETC.
^^
^This is how ME has affected me. I love most space operas, and it's probably my favorite.

"Cell reproduction is much simpler than human reproduction. Less alcohol and mood music required."
Hey, anything to help me remember, right?

Also, I wrote a paper in my 400-level leadership course using Commander Shepard in my examples... and I did effectively enough to earn an 'A' for that assignment.

I'm also trying to steel my self to destroy the collector base for the first time. I swear, tim has some sort of power over me, lol.
As for how me has affected my social life, or pitiful excuse thereof, not always am i thinking of me at work, but i'm constantly considering the similarities between my co-workers names, and the names of squadmates. For example, on at least one occasion, i called a co-worker named melinda/miranda. I've ALMOST made similar errors, nearly calling co-workers named shawna/samara, jordan/mordin. Coincidentally, i used to work with someone named ashley williams.

I was also in a clan for Call of Duty and whenever a plan was to be thought up I would quote Grunt when you have reached the end of the relationship in the game. You know the whole "You are my battlemaster, I have a clan and enemies to fight."
I also once called a girl I was obsessed with Miri. Didn't end well.
