I just loaded Mass Effect on my new desktop, everything seems fine but when I start the game up and the program attempts to configure my computer, something goes wrong and it just stops.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice already and I do not have this problem with Mass Effect 2.

I made certain I had what was required. That was the point of buying the new computer, so I could play this game.

ARGH! All I needed to do was download the patch, and now it works. Thanks for helping, I'm sorry I was getting frustrated.
