I just downloaded Dragon Age Origins Deluxe Edition from Steam yesterday and I cannot figure out how to activate the DLC. I went to the C:\\ProgramData\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\DAUpdater\\Data folder and there isnt even any files in there. At some point during the installation I remember reading that the DLC is downloaded along with the game but needs to be activated but I cant even find the DLC files. I have the activation key now how do i get the content? Someone please help this is really frustrating.

-Thank you

Did you try the tech help forums? You know where this type of question belongs and possibly an answer is allready there.

Did you log in to your EA account from the main menu once you're in DA:O? DId you click on the Downloadable Content button to check if things are showing up properly in there? Also, I think you might have to input the codes in this website IF they gave you a list of codes or something (in which case you want to mouse over "Profie" then go to "Redeem Promo Code." I'm not sure if any of that will help, but as addiction said you might want to try the tech help for, err, more help.

I didn't get my copy on Steam, so I really don't know how it's handled if you get the game through it (did download Civ 5 via Steam, but heh, totally different game).

How do you get the codes to redeem? Steam doesn't give me any way to even see my keys, even though I can see that I own the Bonus Content. And why isn't all this automatic? Oh right, because this is Electronic Arts.

Ah, you can't get the key from the Properties dialog. You have to right click the game and click View CD Key.

But I entered my key and it listed all the DLC I own, but the game gives me no way to download any of it. I exited and restarted the game, and still nothing. They're available to buy of course.

First, you need to Register your games.

Then, you need to Redeem your content codes.

When you start Dragon Age: Origins, log on using your BSN account, and then check your DLC. If after a few minutes, it doesn't download, go to the tech support forums.

Make sure your net framework is updated. I had the same problem until I updated it.

From another post it looks like the problem is the updater doesn't run in Windows 7 x64. So those of us with this OS simply can't use our DLC...

I've had no problems.

I've had this problem from time to time. I am not sure what triggers it, but sometimes the updater does not run. You should at least check this if you're having trouble. Go to:

Control Panel -> System -> Admin. -> Services
(I have the Danish Windows, so I hope the names are accurate).

Check for "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater". It should say it is running (or has been started). If not, you can do it manually by pressing "Start". It might take a few tries.

Don't panic. At least try starting it manually first if it doesn't work. For me, this was absolutely the only problem keeping my Steam Digital Deluxe DLC from working.

I have same issues as termokanden, I too have Windows 7 64bit Steam install with Digital Deluxe Edition. I just have had to manually start the services from time to time. Then everything is golden.

Edit; I also just remembered this thread I found some time back this may be helpful to those who are having issues with DLC's.  social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/81613

I can't start the service. It says "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified"

Weird... the location of my DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe is nonexistent. Luckily it's the address of my MemoryStick so I made the whole set of folders and copied it over. So now it runs.

Edit: Now my DLC is downloading! If you have the issue of nothing showing up in the download tab, try making sure your updater service is where Windows thinks it is, and if not, copy it to that location.
