I can't play the game at all. i start the game get to the point my character loads and then the monitor goes dark and displays this message.
Signal out of range Change display to 1920 x 1200 60 HZ.
That is the native resolution for my Dell 2407WFP (Radeon HD3870) and i have the game set to 1920 x 1200 but no way to set the refresh rate.
Is the game chosing a Higher refresh rate than 60 HZ?
This only happens with Dragon age.
I have tried lower resolutions and I get the same message from the monitor.

You changed the settings from the DAO configuration util? I am not at my gaming PC right now, but I think there is an icon to start it from the game's folder.
Screwy video problems usually mean... try to update your monitor and video drivers. Try to install the latest DirectX distrib (the one from the game CD should be sufficient), or just go to MS.
I had screwball behavior like this from the game "Fear". If I recall correctly, that time it had something to do with a screwy incompatability.. I think it had to do with the codecs I had installed . I had to effectively purge and go with the default OS codecs.
