[Major Truth]

So last week I drew up a survey to try and capture everyones varying mass effect experiences and also opinions on various characters and story lines. There was a great response (Thanks to all who completed it) and I closed the survey this morning at the nice round number of 300.

The results are quite interesting and are stored at the below link:

For me the results are extremely interesting and surprising. I'll post my own opinions below as I want to keep the original post unbiased and factual.

Very interesting!

Glad to see my favorite romances (Ash and Thane) are in the top five. Some of those results actually got me laughing out loud (Jacob's romance rating!). Also, it comes as no surprise that Lair of the Shadow Broker is the most liked mission in the game, followed by the suicide mission.

I didn't expect Mordin to come out top, I thought it would be Garrus or Legion

Huh, some of the results were pretty surprising. Thanks for taking the time to create the survey in the first place. I know it is unofficial and all, but it is still always interesting to see what other people think.

Yep I think Liara really benefited from LOTSB in this poll. 79% of people voted her 7/10 or over as a character. Thats unbelievable

Not to mention 20% of people voting her their fav character accross both games

Dooooooo eeeet!

The engineer's got some beef, despite what people think and it's a fun class to play (usually ran with Grunt and Thane). Yes, it's got it's cons, like all the classes and sure there are some parts where you'll gnash your teeth (Purgatory, in my case), but I love my engineer.  I have two!  Some great engineer stuff out there, I know Pacifien's got some good info, Sinosleep, Average Gatsby, Radahldo - all great engineers.

And now back your regularly scheduled programming.

not surprisingly mordin & legion from me2 were the top-rated, especially mordin (legion gets the "exotic" vote because of the AI nature), wrex was always the most popular me1 character squaddie. the LIs are divisive because people like one and generally completely dislike the others, as you'd expect - hence them not faring so well individually.



the biases that perhaps wouldn't be present in a larger data-set poll are the relatively high marks for every character and skewed data like Liara coming out on top of the romance heap just after LoSB is released (which also wins "best mission").

Very nice to see that many people like Liara and LotSB. While they may not read every post on their forums, such a survey should be interesting to the developers too. I hope that they will not repeat something like what they did to Liara in ME 2 - because that's certainly not the reason why people (still) like her - and will instead deliver content of the quality of LotSB.

I'm somewhat surprised, but generally pleased with most of the other results too.
