Don't suppose there's anyway to get the staff now, after missing signing up for the newsletter. I didn't even know there was one ><
You can still get it as long as you register in October.

So........this staff is the staff-sword from the trailer?? AWESOME!!
Here's hoping that my mage Hawke, equipped with this family heirloom, will be able to melee fight like the trailer Hawke!!
oh, and the description for the staff is very interesting..........it makes me want to play as a mage even more!!

Signed up on the Dragon Age II website to the newsletter when this whole thing was announced. Just checked my subscribed settings after not receiving the code and apparently I'm only subscribed to the bioware newsletter. Well that's great isn't it? I followed the instructions as read and I loose out because Bioware's system screws up.
It didn't say anywhere to check your settings to make sure ur on the right newsletter. It just said put your email in here.
I've just signed up with my hotmail account to see if i can get the code this time and I'm double checking the settings but frankly I'm not holding out much hope.
Yes its a freebe which is why i'm not ranting and raving and bioware don't owe me anything but this? Seriously. After the week I've had which included getting hit by a bike and getting mugged (which is not Bioware's fault... unless Chris Priestly has come to England to personally hunt me down for some unknown reason and to be fair the only thing that was stolen by the mugger was my Poncho) is just one more kick in the teeth.

I must say, I am very confuzzled as to why a Trailer Weapon is an Exclusive.

It's not really an exclusive when you can get it for free by just subscribing to a newsletter.... many people may not get it because they don't follow the forums but that's not the point.

So........is the weapon Hawke is holding in this pic the bladed end of the Staff of Parthalan?
Since the Staff of Parthalan is the staff-sword from the trailer, and this scene looks like the same setting as the trailer...........could this very well be the Staff of Parthalan?
oh.........and I am wondering when exactly we will be able to wield the staff.
It's supposed to be a family weapon.........so perhaps mage Hawke will start out with it?
That would be cool, as it would make it feel more special and personal. But, if that's the case, I would like the weapon to be able to level up with Hawke.
I hope it won't be like the Cousland family sword in Origins, which was a fairly low level item that you had to ditch in favor of higher tier weapons later on.
If this staff is indeed my family's heirloom, and it has a legendary past, I want my Hawke to wield it from the moment she gets her hands on it till the end.

But you have to have had subscribe, or be on the forums, or go to SDCC to get the content. That is exclusive.

it's a screenshot that's been floating around here on the forums. Can't remember where it came from, though.
